High School Food Fight Lands Four Teens in Jail With Misdemeanors

What may have started as the time-honored yet unruly tradition of a high school food fight landed a few students in a place they never expected tossing today’s lunch would get them: the slammer.
WXYZ reports four juniors and seniors from Jefferson High School in Frenchtown, Mich., walked into a courtroom Wednesday wearing striped jail clothes and handcuffs where they were charged with a misdemeanor for inciting a disturbance in a public building.
All the teens were released to their parents on a $500 recognizance bond, except one whose parent couldn’t leave work so he had to spend a second night in jail.

The local ABC affiliate reports that 16 other students were given 10 day suspensions. Cory Long, 16, who is among those suspended and friends with the boys who were arrested, said he wasn’t sure who started the fight but that “food just started to fly.”

Tina Long, Corey’s mother, is reported as saying the situation is being blown out of proportion by officials:
“Every one of us did something goofy in high school. And now they want to do this to the kids?” said Tina Long.
Superintendent Craig Haugen issued a statement that said the school “will not tolerate this type of behavior.” He said that damage done to the property and potential for student injury is what “caused us to treat this more seriously than just some cafeteria horseplay.”
The Monroe Evening News reported Monroe County Sheriff’s Sgt. John Plath as agreeing that the fight warranted arrest of the students. He called it an “organized event.” Tables and chairs were said to have been overturned and thrown.
All we can assume is that if it were an epic enough food fight to land these boys in jail with a misdemeanor, it had to have been as good as the famous cafeteria food fight scene in National Lampoon’s Animal House. Here is is for your viewing pleasure (Note: Some strong language):

This is to the parents, I work for the school district, if they did not follow protocol(the district of the school), they can sue the school for not!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I find the attitude of the one mother extremely troubling – basically so what , no big deal. Had I the temerity to attempt such a thing, I would have been in big trouble at home also, had I been thrown in jail, my parents would have the love and guts to leave me there to further teach the lesson of consequences of brhavior.
Low expectations result in low behavior. High standards result in better behavior

We can’t even convict Casey Anthony for killing her child, we can‘t get Senators like Barack Hussien Obama to vote for a bill that requires babies born alive during an abortion attempt to be cared for and we can’t convict OJ for killing his wife and Ron Goldman, but we can throw 4 high schoolers in jail for something just about every one of us participated in while in school.
Yes, a food fight. Good Lord, get a life!

When we had a food fight the teachers would put the ones who started the food fight where put in detention. The only people really hated this was the janitor because he had to clean the cafateria, but he did it with some “volunteers”.
Report Post »In jail give me abreak. The other stuff we did is toilet papers somebody’s house, oh wait that is called “vandilism”. This “pc” crap has gone way out of hand. Next thing they will be checking our kids lunch from home to see if it had enough nurtition in it, what they already doing that, just give the kid some chicken nuggets to round out the lunch. That’s right they do that already.

Here we have a man of integrity, a true statesman of his time, who SINGLE HANDEDLY took on the modern day hooligans who, through their malicious intents and purposes, were bent on destroying the VERY fabric of common sense and decency that has found itself so imperiled in today’s school system.
Thank GOD for Superintendent Craig Haugen for saving our schools from the tyrannical rule of our Founding Fathers! I can sleep better at night knowing that men such as this are on the job…
(meanwhile, in the school parking lot, two cars were broken into, and inside the school, two minorities were ramming a white nerds head into the toilet for a “proverbial swirley”)….

And you notice it was four white boys throwing food, no minority would throw food, they would throw fists. This is a great example of why Amerika will fall to the chinese, when you work from age 5, you are thankful you are going to school, and have food.

He was suspended NEVER arrested from school at least THREE TIMES!

Black Trayvon Martin is REPEATEDLY in trouble at school and gets suspended for GRAFFITI which is destruction of school property and gang tagging AND then gets SUSPENDED from school for 10 days for having a empty baggy with marijuana residue – so his mother sends him to live with his father who lives with his girlfriend in Zimmerman’s neighborhood.
