High School Students ‘Humiliated’ as Profile Pictures Appear on Child Porn Site

At least 17 girls at this school alone had their profile pictures posted on the porn site.
CHARLTON, Mass. (The Blaze/AP) – At least 17 Massachusetts teenage girls are humiliated after their full-clothed Facebook profile pictures were stolen and appeared on a child porn site.
The FBI and Massachusetts police are now trying to figure out who “hijacked” Facebook photos of teenage girls from more than a dozen high schools in the state. Authorities on Thursday described the site as an anonymous bulletin board with links to pornographic content and photos of students from all 50 states.
The Massachusetts link displayed pictures of 17 teenage girls from Bay Path Regional Vocational Technical High School in Charlton and others from schools around the state, officials said.
Watch the AP news report:
The photos of the fully-clothed girls contained information that could be used to identify the teens, including town and school signs, Charlton Police Chief James Pervier said.
The site is hosted in Ohio but its servers are in eastern Europe — outside local and federal authority, Charlton Police Lt. Carl Ekman said.
FBI Special Agent in Charge Richard DesLauriers said the agency was reviewing the matter to determine whether any laws were violated, including privacy and anti-pornography laws.
Boston FBI spokesman Greg Comcowich said the site was running Thursday. He would not discuss any agency actions taken in its review.
As she waited in her car at Charlton for her sophomore daughter, Tracy Nicholas Cruz, 40, said she has heard from many of the girls whose pictures appeared on the site.
“…they were humiliated,” she said. “They didn’t know how their pictures got exploited. These are good girls.”
As a mother, she said, “It’s just scary to think that your child could just have this site to communicate with other students and her friends and everything, and then something as bad as this other site comes out and takes their pictures? That’s horrible.”
Seventeen-year-old Autumn Walczak said she deleted her Facebook profile “because I did not want to be part of, like, anything that would happen to me and stuff.”
Bay Path’s Superintendent-Director David Papagni said some students and parents alerted school officials in January that someone had secretly copied the Facebook photos of students and posted them on the site.
“It’s an awful thing,” Papagni said.
How can you prevent this from being done? Up your Facebook security to the maximum level. The local CBS affiliate reports Worcester District Attorney Joseph Early as saying “Three things in life used to be permanent: life, death, and taxes. Now it’s life, death, taxes, and any image that you put on the internet.”

Posted on February 18, 2012 at 12:29pmDUH! …. Do you still let your kids have Facebook accounts? WTF is wrong with you? Zuckerburg/Facebook have proven time and time again that they could give a crap about your privacy….. so here’s yet another reason, more proof of why you shouldn’t let you kids play on these web sites. You know what’s funny? I can share this comment on Facebook by checking a box to the bottom right of this text box…..LOL. I’ve got no issues with Twitter, however, Facebook is just dedicated to bringing out the inner narcissist in most everyone….. I hate that site. If you‘re stupid enough to let your kids on Facebook you’re doing your children a real disservice, especially if you’ve been even more stupid and allowed them to upload images of themselves. There is no way to regulate the internet without really destroying it in the process…. until your kids are 18 you shouldn’t allow them to have profiles or accounts on any of these sites. Pull your heads out of your butt people.

Children and adults need to understand what we put on the internet is fair game. What we do not want is to have the government decide what is ok and not ok to post. Families need to monitor what they put on public display.

This also could be something Anonymous did when they hacked into porn sites. They hacked sites and posted pictures on certain sites.

Posted on February 17, 2012 at 4:53pmFirst of all I said that their parents got what they deserved and they did. Parents who let their minor children learn lessons about privacy on the internet the hard way are criminal themselves. And yes if you get robbed and have no scene to protect your stuff you do deserve it for having nice things and no brain to one not protect them and and second posting pictures of your stuff with clues to where you live for the world to see. Put your statement into context or it’s not relevant. These MINOR girls posted their own images with clues to where they go to school etc They deserve to learn the lesson and the PARENTS differently deserve to be (robbed) for having nice things (AS YOU WOULD SAY) and not protecting them and allowing them to be posted for the world to see! Your argument only tries to make excuses for stupidity! Having Facebook to keep yourself safe is really bright as well you hate them so you help them make money! You are as bright as your comments!

you exactly said the kids got what they deserve quoting from you “I agree they got what they deserved or the parents did ” you said they or the parents did. This means you meant the children otherwise you should not have used the word or which implies two seperate people deserved something.
even the way you put it into context to make it relevant. I still don‘t believe these people did anything illegal or wrong and would still say they didn’t get what they deserved. You are telling people that they need to live their life in fear of what criminals may do to them and if they don’t they get what they deserve.
the definition of deserve is “Merited or earned” so you think that taking a picture and putting on the web makes you deserving of being placed on a child porn site by a freak. Would you also beleive that if these children were stalked by one of these freaks and rapped they are desrving of that too?
You are clearly letting your personal feeling of facebook, skew you judgement. You are not thinking logicaly rather you are thinking emotionally.

Posted on February 17, 2012 at 5:26pmNo I think making excuses for stupidity is the ultimate participation trophy. I did say that they or at least the parents got what they deserve. I did say at least the parents. Yes the Parents do for sure deserve the guilt of the consequences of their neglect. As for the kids If they want to act like adults they should expect to be treated as one. If they post pictures on a site that is known to have privacy issues and post on a site that has lead to people getting exploited again and again. If they were the first to be exploited then I would agree they did nothing wrong. But If you fail to learn from history it is always going to repeat its self. So this is why I feel they deserve to have their images exploited its like giving the world your credit card # and knowing someone in the world is a crook but expecting it to be safe. I think you forget about privacy settings. If they posted the pictures for the world to see yes they deserve the consequences of their actions! What ever happens is the fault first of a stupid parent and second of a stupid kid. When I had Facebook I blocked people from seeing my account unless I was a friend. If your dumb enough to give it to the world you get what you deserve period. Nice try though!
Report Post »fakeid200
Posted on February 17, 2012 at 5:32pmAlso if what you think is a fact! Turns out to be just a bad opinion then your no so bright. Sometimes the truth hurts very sorry but the facts are that if your to stupid to protect your personal info and you just put it out there for the world to see not taking advantage of privacy settings put in place to protect people then you get what you deserve kid or not! The parents should be charged with neglect because that’s what it all boils down to!

Posted on February 17, 2012 at 5:50pmFakeid,
I think where we differ on this argument is on this and correct me if I am wrong.
I believe that people should not have to adjust their life to accommodate for evil people, I think people should always be cognoscente of what they are doing and try to protect themselves. However if an evil person does something wicked to someone who did not protect themselves the way they should have; they may have been stupid or naive but do not deserve to be victimized.
You believe that people should adjust their life to protect themselves from evil people, if they do not and someone victimizes them they are deserving of it.
I know I said facts before in my statement about arguments which is true but this is more of an argument based on logic as we are complete agreement on the facts at this point.

Posted on February 17, 2012 at 4:11pmI agree they got what they deserved or the parents did at least for allowing their kids on Facebook. Look Facebook is going public and making bucks off every person they exploit. This site I believe will also be a tool of a Government gone mad. Why are so many ex Obama employees going to work there? If you don’t agree with all the things Facebook does you should delete your profile. At least one girl in the story got wise in the end.. Facebook should be put out of business. Even if you say well I never log on to my Facebook they are still making money off you. ERASE YOUR FACEBOOK TODAY. If you agree that they are evil. But why do they want to know so much more info like ok these are your friends then it was who are relatives not friends then it was how good of friends are you/ They keep wanting more and more. They scared me I erased my page I would like to see everyone do the same! I want to see the site go under but by we the people not by regulation and I am also afraid that these type of story’s are going to be what leads to Government regulating the internet. they did not get what they deserved, they did nothing illegal or wrong. Nothing they did was deserving of getting pictures posted on to a child porn site. You would hope these kids can take a valuable lesson away from this about the security of the internet and the dangers that are out there.
The way I understand your logic you would also beleive this. If my home was robbed and they took my nice car and my TV I got what I deserved because I shouldn’t own nice things.

No way to judge or regulate age anyway I think you should have to have a credit card to use it. That would rid all of the minors from Facebook or make the parents responsible for what goes on and then the parents might not allow their stupid kids to act like adults and get exploited. If the parents give the kids their credit card numbers it would be the same as giving permission and if the kids took it without permission that’s fraud.
