Hilarious ‘Apocalypse’ Weather Forecast Goes Viral on YouTube

Aaron Justus Apocalyptic Weather Forecast Has Nearly One Million YouTube Hits

Titled “Hot Weather in Richmond This Weekend,” the video begins like any other weather report.

“We have beautiful weather for this week…partly cloudy, mild, with those temperatures dropping down into the mid-70′s,” reporter Aaron Justus begins, before nonchalantly adding: “We’ve got some big changes here for the upcoming work week.  Starting tomorrow, we’re going to have a volcanic eruption right near Charlottesville, and it’s going to make things rather toasty across the area.”

Justus continues, remarkably without laughing: “We’re going to have tidal waves moving in ahead of this: a global super storm developing off towards the Atlantic ocean…But the key to the forecast, right before this thing makes landfall, it’s going to be deflected by Godzilla.”

“Now, a lot can change between now and then,” the reporter cautions, before assuring: “We’re looking at the latest data, we’ll continue to bring you the very latest.”

Uploaded by “FakeNBC12” the clip has nearly one million views in roughly one week.

One commenter wrote that the “matter-of-fact attitude“ is ”awesome” while another said: “I love you insane weather guy!”

The Richmond Times-Dispatch says the eccentric footage was a “farewell forecast” by local meteorologist Aaron Justus, created nearly a year ago but unnoticed until relatively recently:

“I always liked to joke around with my co-workers and make ridiculous graphics,” said Justus, who now lives and works as a brewer in San Diego. “On slow weather and news days, I would show them during commercial breaks. So I decided to put some of my favorites together as one last farewell forecast.”

“It took me less time that I thought it would,” he said. “It was just the third or fourth take before I could get through it without laughing.”

Justus said his sister uploaded the clip to YouTube nearly a year ago, but it disappeared soon after.  That is, until it was uploaded by “FakeNBC12,” when it exploded.

Featured by national and international outlets like Gawker, the Huffington Post, and the Daily Mail, Justus only wonders where the YouTube account obtained a copy of the video.

“That video file, along with several others, was on my iPod, which died last year. The only copy left was on my sister’s hard drive,” he said.

He humorously conceded: “Fake journalists never reveal their sources.”

    There is no scientific date that was not pumped up for dollars at the UN. Here is a hint, it is hot in the summer and people always say it is so hot. It is cold in the winter. My point is simple I live in Texas where it is hot for 9 months out of the year. Has it ever been any different? It was so hot in Vietnam people in orange robes burst into flames. We always have the“ worst it ever been” crowd and then we have liberals who believe Al Gore and Obama that have no credibility period. Keep supporting the UN they want to TAX you for the heat and rain, cold and snow. Prove there in any global warming, there is not one person on this earth who can. What were we talking about?

      Ain’t that the truth. This tired ol’ argument pops up in arguments from A to Z. It ranks up there with the “back in the good ol’ days” foolishness.
      It just goes to show how egocentric human beings can. “No one ever had it as hard as us (READ: ME!)”
      Logic arguments, emotion, and zealotry… hell some people likely believe volcanic activity can be spurred by alleged man-caused climate change. “The earth is angry!” Yep. Throw some money at the proper people and all well be forgiven. Hmm…. Fear can make human beings craven little creatures. You just gotta know how to sell your brand of crazy and make your new age religion stick.

      Carbon Dioxide composes 0.05% of the atmosphere (and that’s rounding UP) – and is a heavier than air gas (Meaning most of it is near the surface of the Earth) – Since the Greenhouse Effect occurs HIGH in the Atmosphere, even the densest moron on the planet would have to conclude that CO2 has a minimal effect on greenhouse warming.

      ocrik: Comrade history will set you free! Once, possibly twice in it’s history Mother Gaia has been a ball of ice. Then she warmed up and had a far greater amount of oxygen in the atmosphere than today making the dominent life form giant bugs. But the bug thing didn’t work out, so something (vulcanism) killed over 90% of life forms and we got the big crestures. Well she didn’t like them either so Mother Gaia request Father Rock to fall from heaven and, along with more vulcanism, kill of 95% of all living creatures. This thing actually has happened several more times than I have space to write.
      Anyway, today the dominent life form is humans! But Mother Gaia once again has a fever so the best way to correct the fever is to have sustainable growth through Initiative 21!
      So, to further this, we will teach young minds filled with mush a bunch of nonsense which they will buy and then be willing to give their money to those smart enough to be the big shots in Initiative21!
      That way the big shots can ride around in big fancy cars, private jets, school their children at big, expensive, private schools, and eat at expensive resturants all the time while laughing at the con game they have played upon you!
      Perhaps you would like to invest in the bridge I’m selling in Brooklyn? Since you are willing to do stupid and be ripped off without even looking for the truth, I think you should give me some of your hard earned dollars also. Gas is sooo expensive!

      one hundred thousand years ago the seas were 50′ higher than today and the earth was much warmer. Evidence of this is fossilized reef in the Dominican Republic. This particular reef will only live in water from depths of 15′ – 35‘ but it’s now found 25‘ above today’s sea level. The reason the earth was warmer was not man made, it was the earth spinning off it‘s axis slightly cause the earth to be closer to the sun during it’s rotations.

      There may be global warming and human activities may be a factor, but the issue has been made many times more difficult to resolve by the zealot-like claims of scientific heresy against those who express skepticism. Just as there are good scientists who support the idea of anthropogenic climate change, there are other very reputable scientist who a) question the IPCC projections and data, b) believe warming is from natural causes, c) feel the real cause has yet to be identified, or d) some combination of the above.
      Everyone put down the torches and pitchforks and allow the issue to be resolved by scientists and stop the politics.

      hey ocric you aren’t using a computer are you? the plastic in it comes from oil. The electricity used to turn it on is more than likely from a coal fired plant. To build a hybrid car for me to drive would leave a greater carbon foot print than if I just keep driving my full size 20 year old pick up. If you cram everyone into city centers where bikes and public transit make sense you get pollution, crime, and disease. That is all moot anyways. According to core sample research there have been about 6 ice ages lasting up to several million years. So at best this planet has had no more than what…32 million years of cold climate in its 4 billion + year life. Colder climate= more moisture locked into ice (sounds like drought conditions), shorter growing seasons, a hostile environment for what ever dominent species has control from illness, starvation, and exposure. So not only does warmer climate seem to be more conducive for life on this planet, but it also appears to be this planets natural state. I would argue things like super volcanos, and impacts from space throw particles into the atmosphere blocking out the sun triggering ice ages (I might point out we are in the tail end of a mini ice age), and then the earth goes about the business of correcting itself, returning to a more moderate tropical climate…..Or am I just ignoring science?

      4xeverything…Here in the NW we only had 3 weeks of summer last year, as spring weather lasted into August. This year we had the second wettest June in recorded history for the region reaching over 4 inches of rainfall. I happen to watch deadliest catch every year and all the captains this season (started last fall and ended I think late Feb or early Mar.) were saying they have never seen ice flows move in so fast or come so far south as early as it did. And some of them have been crabbing for the better part of 3 decades.

      Also, if you increase CO2 in the atmosphere it causes a boom in plant growth, which leads to lower CO2 levels. This is science. Ask anyone who has ever run a greenhouse, if you want your plants to take off, increase the CO2 in the air. Increased CO2 actually causes the “greening” of the planet. Also science, who says the temperature we have had is the optimum temp. We know the earth temp has fluctuated much larger than it has now (1 degree of warming). Global warming is a giant joke!

    Everyone talks about the hellish hot weather but only liberals know what ‘s causing it: climate change, aka global warming, of course!

    The 3,215 record daily high temps set in the month of June and 4,500 new heat records during the last 30 days must incontrovertibly prove Planet Earth is roasting almost to the boiling point.

    And, maybe not.

    The fact is, those record highs were all set in the U.S. while the rest of the northern hemisphere is just experiencing summertime. It would seem Mother Nature has it in for America since she is wreaking heat havoc only on us.

    In almost unprecedented numbers, Mom Nature has caused wildfires, droughts, tornados, and floods, everything but hordes of locusts in the United States–and she has yet to unleash the brunt of her hurricane season!

    As Jonathan Overpeck gloated, “This is what global warming looks like at the regional or personal level.”

    That professor of geosciences and atmospheric sciences at the University of Arizona breathlessly elaborated, ”The extra heat increases the odds of worse heat waves, droughts, storms and wildfire. This is certainly what I and many other climate scientists have been warning about” and the head honcho of climate analysis at the National Center for Atmospheric Research in Colorado, Kevin Trenberth, dutifully chimed in by claiming he had predicted the same disasters.       Have you ever heard of the mini ice ages? The year without a summer? The Pleistocene? How about the 3 long ice ages in relatively recent history?

      JZS, I cut and pasted your statement “Ten percent of Alpine glaciers disappeared” in the search engine. Ran across a number of interesting articles and even this very page. Once I started reading the articles I started entering the names associated to the stories, or those who were part of the topic. If you keep tracking them down they tend to all be associated or backed by none other than Al Gore. Even the famous Lonnie Thompson a well known paleoclimatologist who did some amazing feats of research in the Arctic as well in the Andes. Drilling ice cores for study long before this claim of global warming. It seems that when they know where and why their money is coming, they tend to have a result and build the research to support that. These Chicken Littles have been caught in their lies, or have recently confessed to their lies that I for one find it difficult for anybody with half a brain to continue to believe in this drivel. It’s like you being at your age and still believing in Santa Claus, and the Tooth Fairy.

      What I have yet to understand is why when I post here, people who respond to me have to post two or more times in response. It‘s as though they can’t collect their thoughts well enough to respond with a single coherent post instead of two rambling illogical posts.

      RJ, you need to keep up with the latest Rush Limbaugh opinions. It’s been several years since the right wing college drop-out pundits stopped claiming that climate change isn’t happening. Now the consensus on the right is that it is happening, but that the millions of tons of greenhouse gasses that humans pump into the atmosphere each day isn’t a contributing cause. You need to keep up dude, you’re two or three years behind your peers.

      Science confuses you doesn’t it? No, the data used by the 99.9% of climate scientists who agree with climate change doesn’t originate from Al Gore or George Soros or Francis Scott Piven or those 10 members of the New Black Panther Party. When someone like you simply doesn’t even understand where to data comes from (such as satellite photographs of ice cover in different areas of the globe), and instead supposes that it‘s made up by someone like Louis Farrakhan and researchers worldwide simply assume it’s true, they really missed out on some fundamental concepts in their education.

How many times have these climate scientists (science gods in your view) been proven wrong, or for that matter out and out have lied? Once, they have been proven to have lied, and many have now confessed to it, they are no longer believable. Simple as that. I will vehemently call a pox upon these liars. I refuse to fall for their proven or admitted false crap! I refuse to believe in the tooth fairy. Climate changes like it always has from the beginning of this third rock. If you fail to see that, then so be it. You are nothing more than a silly Chicken Little. And, no I do not have my head in the sand regarding this subject. It is arrogant to believe that mankind is killing this planet when all of the study of ancient world history reveals that it has always changed, even drastically.

      RJ, you say you’re not confused by science, but you are. You, like many, and most here are confusing science and politics. Do scientists sometimes make hypotheses that turn out are wrong? Sure. Do scientists “lie?” I suppose some have in the past, and I understand your reference to ignoring tree ring data, although you don’t have a clue about that. You’re just repeating the Rush Limbaugh line about that.

      The thing about science is that that, unlike politics or personal opinions, it’s self-correcting and data driven. You are confused by science RJ, and you simply can’t comprehend there is a real world, governed by chemistry and physics that is true independent of of what Rush Limbaugh or anyone else thinks. Smart people are trying to get at that reality.

      The Koch brothers funded a study lead by a leading climate change skeptic, Richard Muller, and you know what? He changed from skeptic to believer. Here’s a reference but you can find plenty of others, googler that you are.

      I have not and will not even consider the possibility of man made global warming until your side quits moving the flag. There is no way to debate it because the story always changes.

      You can’t debate, despite the debate being over before it started, people who claim one day that “Our children will not even know what snow is,“ then when snow increases claims ”Global warming is causing increased snow.”

      Also, if the only solution to GW is total government control, give me global warming.

      The good thing about GW is we will know if JZS and Al Gore are correct in a few years. The bad thing is if they are correct the earth will be destroyed and humanity will cease to exist.

    This [is the way] they report the news today…….before you see it, it goes through the Delphi Technique, the spin meisters, the creative writing tours de farce and just when it seems there’s no way to put it across “progressively,” the way they really want it, they just tweak it a little bit more and voila! it becomes the news that they didn’t keep from us for our own good…..this is the way they report the news every day/night…I wonder if he knew he was reporting the weather the way they report the creative writing assignments at his news network?

    I knew it was fake from the moment he mentioned Godzilla showing up on Tuesday. I mean how can you perdict when he’ll show up. He may have to fight Megalon or the Cloverfield monster. There is just no way to know his schedule. FAKE!

    He has to make fun of it because he can not predict the weather patterns because what is happening is not natural…nor super natural for that matter. Can man control the weather? The answer is yes, I do it every day when I turn the air conditioner on in my car. How long has air conditioning been around anyway? since science and men figured out a way to condense gas into a liquid. Considering the earth/atmosphere is a natural condenser, and it only takes a little manipulation with high power and frequency controls to manipulate it…just like turning the dial in your ac control in your house.

      You should understand that all the reactions by the weather from outside influences are a part of the natural filtration cycles of the planet.

      If not for these natural filtration cycles the earth never would have recovered from being covered with volcanic eruptions, twice.

      You do understand that excess CO2 is released through the atmosphere and therefore does not pose any harm to us? It just makes for a very green planet, being how CO2 is what is used by the plants to create oxygen for us self destructing humans.

      Stop drinking the koolaid and learn the facts. 60 years of weather can not determine whether we are warming or cooling. In runs in cycles and is determined by the sun as it releases escess energy.

      Warming trends and cooling trends are created by the sun, it has nothing to do with anything we are doing.

      The only way humans can possibly destroy this planet is with nuclear bombs. And even then it would eventually filtrate the radiation and return to normal.

      Wake up!

      I believe in climate change. It changes from day to day around here, and on a more drastic measure from season to season. Then, oh my God, it tends to change on a cyclical basis in multiple years. Chick Little must be the world’s favorite fairy tale.
