HILARIOUS: Florida Pastor Releases 10 Commandments…for Dating His Daughter (Justin Bieber May Not Apply)

Florida Pastor Doug Giles Puts Out Ten Commandments for Dating His Daughters

Florida Pastor Doug Giles has some advice for potential suitors for his two daughters.  ”Don’t think about it”… unless of course you’re ready to adhere to some “rules” he puts forth.  In a world where many young men are lacking manners, Pastor Giles‘s old world ’respect my daughter’ commandments are a breath of fresh air.

Here are three Blaze favorites:

Commandment I. Thou shall understand that your presence doesn’t make me happy. And know this: I’ve got a PI doing a background check on you at this moment.

Commandment II. Thou had better have a life. I have worked my butt off providing a good life for my daughter; therefore, you better have one, Spanky.

Commandment VI. Thou shall know that our family is old school. Do not even think about approaching me with liberal, hippie, agnostic, atheistic, anti-American or tree-humping bull crap.

Side note: One of Giles daughters has her own gun apparel company and another took down the corrupt community organizing group ACORN.

I had some very similar rules or “Commandments” for my 2 girls when they were old enough to date. The 2 that stick in my mind clearly are – No dating / boys until you’re 18… No. 2 No sex until I’m dead….
The second one didn’t quite work out as i now have 5 wonderful grandkids.

While the most important relationship between a parent and child is that between a father and his daughter, I must concur with others who’ve posted reservations about the language. The urge to be “edgy” as a “pastor” is simply the urge to conform to the world. Reminds me of the famous Saddleback church that has Hawaiian “services.“ Leave the ”edgy” to the world.

What? What the heck’s wrong with Hawaiian services? That’s not “edgy,” that’s just serving a large population of Hawiians in CA. Besides which, Hawaiian services are quite beautiful and moving and, for all of Hawaii’s faults, we do have a strong Christian community (in fact, many are consevative but have just been brainwashed by the the progs). So I say a big “pffft” to your comment…

I really missed not having a dad. In fact, I told people he died so I didn’t have to tell they were divorced when I was about 7-8. Well, after he beat her up numerous times and we’d find her crying, then he busted out her teeth, that was the end.
My mom taught us to be decent, respectable girls. As we got older, we were never allowed to date until she met the boy and told them a few things. We were reminded that we never let anyone touch us in private places. She was strict in her way, but we both were virgins when we married. She always told us, touching and sex was to be saved for marriage.

About 25 years later, my Dad looked us up. He was remarried with 5-6 children. My sister allowed him back into her life, but I just couldn’t. Girls who go out and get preg. don‘t know how they’re ruining their lives and the lives of their children. There is always an emptiness because you don’t have a real dad. It does affect you in many ways you’ll never comprehend.until you go through it yourself.
My mom worked all those years to give us a good home, went to night school and was able to finish college after we married. Life wasn’t always easy, she made most of our clothes, taught us to have respect for ourselves. Thank God, those were the days when most people went to church, believed in God and tried to be respectful toward others.

being agnostic is not “drinking cool-aid.” For one to admit they do not know something to be true even if it rubs against the grain of your family or community is no cool-aid drinking.. Just because 1000s of people say it‘s true doesn’t make it so. A trillion flys like the taste of “bull crap” but I’m not trying it! Drinking cool aid is adults selling kids on the bible as truth and them growing up as adults not questioning it.. That’s drinking a whole hell of a lot of cool aide for years on end..

My daughter’s husband made a list like that, and added the question I asked him on their first date. I would always be cleaning my guns when her new boyfriends would pick them up for the first date. My question was,” do you think it would hurt more to be shot by a .44 Magnum or a .38 special? They always got the point. She did pick a winner.

I have mixed feelings about this. On the one hand, I admire him and his message, I sure wish my Dad had taken a stand like this instead of handing me off to the first guy that only wanted one thing from me, because my Dad didn’t have the time nor the inclination to protect me. On the other hand, he uses a bit of language that’s unbecoming of a pastor. Over all, I’d give this a 6 out of 10!

Keep in mind the difference between pastor and reverend in some denominations. Pastors can be lay persons; reverends are generally the ones possessing the M. Div. certification and the “full time call”. Bear in mind also, that the issue at hand re: language is an admonition against oath taking and use of the Lord’s name in vain. The notion that Christians don’t cuss is one created by a: the need for apartness and b: societal expectation. I do my best to keep my language G Rated at all times so as to not become a stumbling block in exactly the way this fellow has. However, I’ve had the privilege to minister to a great many deploying and returning warriors and I can tell you, I don’t doubt their faith one little bit no matter how foul their language may become at time. They have a raw faith in need of tempering, but faith none the less.

@TROLLTRAINER. Good answer. God deals with the Heart, not the brain. His message is Free-Will. With your heart you accept or reject. No body is out there to twist a sinners arms. The message is for all, the decision is theirs alone. But God does work in mysterious ways, so watch out sinner. Once you know the truth, there’s no going back.

Anyone here ever read the KJV bible? If you have, did you change some of the words if you read out loud to children?
This problem with language seems to me to be a effort to “strain at a gnat”. People worrying about specks of sawdust when they should be worried about the damn tree limbs smacking them in the head. And remember, Jesus was accused of all kinds of foul things (foul at least to the “gnat strainers”). I can guess how many of you on here would have felt when Jesus told people that they could do things on the Sabbath. That was way worse in the cultural mindset of Jews than using the word “a s s”, which didn’t even used to be considered a curse word (back to the KJV thing).
I think all the whiners should get their panties out of a twist and get their big boy britches on.

Like it has been said before we Christians DO NOT have to tolerate sin by being meek little rabbits. Only Jesus is Jesus. We are sinners and work VERY hard to overcome our sins. A Christian works tirelessly on not sinning. We DO NOT just accept it as “whatever feels good do it” But, it doesn’t mean we are cowards.. Even Jesus got angry in the Temple.
