Holder: Focus on Black Panther Case Demeans ‘My People’

Continuing to face down questions as to why the U.S. Justice Department went easy on prosecuting members of the New Black Panther Party who stood armed with nightsticks outside a Philadelphia polling location during the 2008 presidential election, Attorney General Eric Holder expressed his personal frustration over the criticism that race played a role.

Holder: Focus on Black Panther Case Demeans My People

Attorney General Eric Holder (AP)

During a hearing of a House Appropriations subcommittee Tuesday, Rep. John Culberson, R-Texas, accused Holder’s DOJ of failing to cooperate with a Civil Rights Commission investigation into the decision to dismiss the case. Holder seemed to take personal offense when Culberson read comments from former Democratic activist Bartle Bull condemning the decision as the most serious act of voter intimidation he had witnessed during his career.

“Think about that,” Holder fired back. “When you compare what people endured in the South in the 60s to try to get the right to vote for African Americans, to compare what people subjected to that with what happened in Philadelphia, which was inappropriate….to describe it in those terms I think does a great disservice to people who put their lives on the line for my people,” said Holder, an African American.

“To compare that kind of courage, that kind of action, to say some Black Panther incident is of greater concern to us, historically, I think just flies in the face of history,” the attorney general said.

Earlier in the hearing, Culberson insisted that race had indeed affected the DOJ’s decision-making process, accusing Holder’s agency of having a “double standard” when it comes to the rights of whites vs. blacks.

“This Department of Justice does not enforce the law on the basis of race,” Holder insisted.

Democratic Rep. Chakah Fattah acknowledged that the New Black Panthers “should not have been there,” but the Philadelphia congressman accused the GOP of playing the race card by focusing too much attention on the Black Panther case.

“The most unethical thing a person can do is make allegations based on absolutely nothing,” Fattah said. “The only issue of race is singling out this particular decision…That this rises to national significance is bogus on its face.”

During his Tuesday radio broadcast, conservative host Rush Limbaugh lashed out at Holder for his response to Culberson’s charges, suggesting Holder should take offense to Rep. Charlie Rangel’s claim that abolishing collective bargaining rights is akin to reinstate slavery:

Holder cries race every time his back is against the wall well it is not hard to see who the racist really is here. The Black Panthers were armed with clubs & should have been arrested & charged with threatened intimidation with a weapon. Can you imagine the shoe being on the other foot with a few whites interfering with the blacks attempting to enter the polling place?

we got there because no one vetted these maggots, and when they were vetted, found to be ineligible as in the case for president and it was found obama doesnt meet the requirements for “Natural Born” because the US Supreme Court decided in 1875 that “parents” must be US Citizens, not his father, not his Mother, but BOTH must be US Citizens…..obama isnt now, or ever was qualified for the Presidents position, a HUGE scam has been played on the Americans, and those who refuse to remove him should ALL be removed from office….ALL of them….

Holder is right, there is no comparison between this event in Philadelphia and what happened to blacks who fought for their voting rights years ago. But, that said, there is NO EXCUSE for his Justice Department to punt on this obvious voter intimidation case. Holder hasn’t got the POLITICAL COURAGE to act, nor the will.

“I as of anglosaxon heritage reject that I or my forefathers have done anything to people of African descent. The past was just what it was and a lot of things were not as we would have it today. I still reject that I owe anyone anything. We need to look a little deeper and ask the Question, if we as so called white Americans are not responsible for a group of people being an utter failure at living in this society, then what is the reason for their failure. What is wrong with these African Americans. Why are they so destructive to civilized societies. And I hope you don’t like the premise. You make me sick.”

Right on! Well said. If you want reparations then we need to go back to Africa and find which tribe everyone was from. Some tribes enslaved others and sold them to the Europeans. And Sharpton and Jackson and Wright are still stirring the pot. You want discrimination to end? Then pull up your silly pants, tie your shoes, learn to speak fluent English and quit looking for a handout. Some of the best men I know are of African descent and I would charge hell with them. Last week Holder said he won’t defend D.O.M.A. in the courts anymore, because HE decided the law is unconstitutional. Someone needs to educate that clown about how our system works… the Legislative branch makes the laws, the Executive branch enforces the laws and the Judicial branch decides if laws are unconstitutional. It’s bad enough that Liberals try to make laws from our courts, but now they think they can determine the constitutionality of laws from our White House? What Liberals fail to appreciate is that two can play at their games and they might want to think very hard about the precedent Holder is setting. When Obama gets kicked to the street in 2012, Liberals are going to squeal like stuck pigs when a Conservative Attorney General decides (s)he won’t defend so-called “abortion rights” cases or so-called separation of Church and State cases.

Hey Mister Holder, you just negated all those decades of racial equallity that Dr. King worked so hard and died for, to get. OK Mr. Holder lets look at it this way remove race out of the equation and what those two men did was still illegal no matter what color skin, and if you believed in God then it would make what they did worse since they did it knowing it was illegal. They wanted “REVENGE” on the “CRACKERS” in the area so it was their actions that made this a race issue not the voters that might have been intimidated.

Dr Mr Holder… You are a racist!

I suggest you reread the oath you took when you were sworn into office!

Beside Mr Holder the first person to legally own a slave in the 13 Colonies of what is now the United States… Was a Black man. He won that right in a court of law!

America’s first slave owner WAS BLACK!
From evidence found in the earliest legal documents extant, it is Anthony Johnson, a black man, who we now must recognize as the nation’s first slaveholder. After all, the court battle he eventually won in 1655 to keep John Casor as his servant for life, identifies this unfortunate soul as the first slave in the recorded history of our country. Claiming that he had been imported as an indentured servant, Casor attempted to transfer what he argued was his remaining time of service to Robert Parker, a white, but Johnson insisted that “hee had ye ***** for his life”.

The unfortunate defendant in the court action, John Casor, thus became the first individual known to be legally declared and legally recognized slave by any colonial government.
The court ruled: “seriously consideringe and maturely weighing the premisses, doe fynde that the saide Mr. Robert Parker most unjustly keepeth the said ***** from Anthony Johnson his master….It is therefore the Judgement of the Court and ordered That the said John Casor ***** forthwith returne unto the service of the said master Anthony Johnson, And that mr. Robert Parker make payment of all charges in the suit.”

Antonio Johnson (who later changed his name to Anthony), a black or black-hispanic mixed man, and his future wife Mary, a black woman, were among the very first non-white and non-Native American people to arrive in America. They came by boat to Virginia in 1619, with other blacks and whites, as indentured servants. Upon their release they were given land and eventually became wealthy enough to take on indentured servants of their own. John Casor became one of Anthony Johnson’s indentured servants. In 1665 Anthony and Mary Johnson moved to Maryland to live out the rest of their lives, but not before setting the legal precedent for lifelong slavery of Christians, (mostly white Scots and Irish). It didn’t take long for rich land-owners and politicians to contrive ways to change the focus of slavery from religion to color, and slavery as we generally know it was born.

“My people”? What the hell does THAT mean? This guy is racist and corrupt.

I used to think that when Holder was saying “America is a coward when it comes to discussing racial issues” (paraphrase), that he wanted to actually hammer out the race issue in order to get people to treat one another like people, without regard to skin color.

But it’s clear to me now that Holder believes in Liberation Theology, which is racist on its face. You can’t make restitution to a COLOR anymore than you can hold a COLOR responsible for the mistreatment of INDIVIDUALS. Color doesn‘t determine whether you’re a racist – which is why it is IMPOSSIBLE for racism to be “institutional”! It doesn’t exist in that form! It never has!

Many INDIVIDUALS – who HAPPENED to be white – were raised to believe that blacks ought not be citizens because their ancestors were bought to be slaves. It was wrong of THOSE INDIVIDUALS to think that it was ok to kidnap people from another country, and it was wrong of THOSE INDIVIDUALS to think that it was ok to treat a person as property.

At no point could the blame for what these INDIVIDUALS did be placed on a COLOR. NON-SEQUITUR!

Today, as has been the case for decades, now, CULTURALLY speaking, many black people are taught to, and CHOOSE to, believe that the color of their skin automatically makes them part of a particular culture – a family based on the struggles of their common ancestors.

That’s insane! You’re automatically related to someone in some significant way because you MIGHT have ancestors that suffered the same things? We’re all INDIVIDUALS! I choose my own friends, thank you very much!

Oh, and Holder avoided the issue of the charge of injustice by grading on a curve. You don’t fail to hold the Black Panther thugs accountable because of some unrelated issue. The Department of Justice is corrupt.

Attorney General Eric Holder said Tuesday that the FBI has declined to prosecute in connection with a series of incidents where a man entered Planned Parenthood and claimed to be a pimp operating a sex trafficking ring. Those incidents were later revealed to be part of a video “sting” by the anti-abortion group LiveAction.

Barack Obama Needs to be Impeached Now!

A Policy Issues Institute Exclusive by Steve Baldwin

When some people hear that there’s a movement to persuade Congress to impeach President Barack Obama, they often dismiss it as a joke. But it is no longer a laughing matter. With the economy continuing downward and a foreign policy that is making America less safe, the impeachment option must now be seriously considered. Many Americans wrongly assume that to impeach a president, an actual crime needs to be committed. The reality is, however, that our nation’s founders were concerned that America would some day have a president who may not commit an actual crime, but would rather pursue policies so detrimental to America’s interests, that they would cause irreparable damage to the country.

As a result of this concern, our founders inserted language into the Constitution that gave Congress the power to impeach the president for “treason, bribery, or other high crimes and misdemeanors.” The term “high crimes and misdemeanors” is an Old English phrase, which, in those days, meant simply “bad behavior,” but can be translated in modern terms to mean incompetent leadership that imperils the country. Indeed, some have interpreted this phrase so broadly that it can mean just about anything. As former president Gerald Ford stated, an impeachable offense is, “whatever a majority of the House of Representatives considers it to be at a given moment in history.”
We believe it is necessary to impeach a president if his policies and actions have so endangered and weakened the country, that his removal is essential for the country’s survival. Therefore, with America on the brink of a depression and a President who seems unable to understand the worldwide jihadist threat, we believe impeachment is necessary for the future survival of America.

We also believe impeachment is justified, not just on national security and economic grounds, but also on Constitutional grounds. In numerous areas, Obama has initiated policies that disregard the spirit and intent of Constitutional principles, as envisioned by our founding fathers. Moreover, Obama has appointed to key positions throughout his administration—individuals who flatly disregard the U.S Constitution. Almost all of them refer to themselves as progressives,” or a part of a movement to “progress” America beyond the Constitutional principles we were founded upon and to move America toward the European notion that government is the central force in our lives.

Of course, an impeachment campaign will require creating a massive amount of pressure on the Members of Congress, but the American people are capable of carrying out such an effort. The longer we wait, the more damage Obama and his administration will do to the country. It’s time for the American people to start making their voices heard regarding the impeachment of President Obama.

      http://www.scribd.com/doc/28654563/Reasons-to-Impeach-Obama

I do not post this in a lighthearted manner…go to the website listed above and read the breakdown on acts, omissions and offenses believed to have been committed. Honestly, this past week alone we witnessed 4 American citizens murdered by islamic pirates, the Middle East is ablaze and on the brink of total radicalization…AND…the Obamas were gettin’ down with Motown! Come on America, have we lost all pride? This is appropriate leadership? I don’t think so…and neither do you!

If there was any doubt that the current administration is extremely RACIST, the Attorney General Eric Holder’s response to a committee members question about the Black Panthers leaves no trace or hint of doubt. The AG like the POTUS are African-Americas who are racists in questions of black X white or white x black incidents. AG Eric Holder, who is supposed to be unprejudiced in the performance of his duty as the senior law inforcement officer in America and equally represent all races of American citizens, has chosen instead to favor “ his people ”, meaning other African-Americans.

Let’s suposed for a moment the AG of the USA was white and made the statement that his priority was the support of “ his people ” (white Americans) what would be the black community’s reaction? Well, the word, “outraged” wouldn‘t begin to describe the black community’s reaction and it’s response would be immediate calling for his resignation or firing.

The AG tried to use racism and past predjudice that was present in the Southern USA to justify his response. The Black Panthers with clubs in their hands at a voting place wasn’t sufficent grounds to prosecute them., in his opinion. What if the Klu Klux Klan had been present with clubs in their hands, would that have been sufficint grounds to prosecute them. Absolutely.

The current adminstration has clearly shown it‘s double standard in it’s handling of certain events and persons. How can congress and the senate overlook such an abuse of power perpetrated by Attorney General Holder ? What we have at the present is a President and an Attorney General who cover each other’s back. HOw can this country operate the way it was set up to do when the highest positioin of authority and superior law enforcement officer are racist who make decisions that favor their personal race. Obama should go and Holder has to go, now.

If this does not show how racist this administration is I really can’t imagine what it would take.

I can‘t wait tell Michelle Obama can’t hold her mouth any longer and say’s what she is feeling about now,you will hear true hate and racism at it’s best and most pure.

So, The Black Panther’s are “his people”? He is as racist as they, especially since he covers for them. Justice is supposed to be blind. Scary to think the head of the JUSTICE Dept isn’t not blind but sees in color. If the skin colors were reversed I would expect full prosecution, which I‘m sure he wouldn’t hesitate. So, it should hold true here as well that prosecution would be expected. He has revealed his hand; Eric Holder is a racist and needs to be fired.

For one thing QUIT calling them African-Americans. It’s a stupid label. What if a white South African legally immigrated to the US, would you call HIM an African-American? No.
I’m sure Holder has some white in his family tree somewhere, unless he taking the Michael Jackson treatments. “My People,” pfffft. Racist.

Holder should be removed for failure to uphold the law. That won’t happen unless Obama is impeached for failure to uphold the Constitution … he’s doing exactly what Obama wants: “social justice” over equal justice.

This country is based NOT on “my people” but “all Americans” that You as Atourney General are sworn to protect. Either do YOUR JOB or get the hell out of Dodge!

I thought after electing Obama we were supporsed to become a color blind nation! What’s it going to take A*hole!

What about the fact that Holder has a conflict of interest in this case? Wouldn’t a judge or attorney be expected to recuse him/herself?

He‘s supposed to apply the law equally and that’s what he supposedly wants for “his” people. But he obviously looks at some people as “his” and that leaves the rest of us as not “his”. I think he’s biased. I think his assss needs to go. What a freaking joke this pres and his regime is.

Holder could show how his DOJ is not biased by giving statistics of how many cases of discrimination by minorities and failure (never refusal) to enforce laws in a way that levels the playing field by applying laws more leniently with regard to acts of minorities he has prosecuted. Before increasing the funding for the DOJ, he should be required to do so.
About demeaning “his people,” was he referring to a specific racial group or over 300 million Americans of all races?

      @Trolltrainer:
Holder, we are ALL of one blood. We are all one people. You, sir, are a disgrace to humanity

I think I know what you were trying to say…but please, we are not all of one blood, and we are not all one people. We are individuals, of many bloodlines, governed by one law in one nation. Supposedly.
He is a disgrace however, if not to humanity, then to his office.

Okay, let’s take a couple of white fellas and have them stand outside a black community, (Tea Party) and have them intimidate the black community( with clubs). I wonder how many of them would be in jail within minutes especially if they commented on killing African American babies? There are criminals of all races. Giving these Black Panthers a free pass is definitely racist. I wouldn’t show up like they did because I know what the law is.

We are seeing the new real danger to the American public when the Attorney General of all Americans refuses to NOT keep all Americans safe, but only those he choses to protect! I guess we now see real racism at work in the Obama administration! This says it is okay for intimidation to take place at the polls! What an embarrassment to the Obama administration as it proves what many Americans have been saying since this man took office! THE CONSTITUION DOESN’T APPLY TO THEM AS IT IS “A PESKY PIECE OF PAPER” they don’t like! GET OVER IT OR GET OUT OF OFFICE!

I thought his people were Americans. So he thinks that people of color are not American but something else and that the law of the land does not apply to people of color. My MY how far we have progressed.
“Hope and Change” how is that working out. We get what we deserve by being lax citizens and not listening to what our politicians say. I was always told that you could judge People by the people they run with and by what they say, not what somebody else tells you they said. In their own words.
