AG Holder Says WikiLeaks Under Criminal Investigation

(AP) — The Justice Department will prosecute anyone found to have violated U.S. law in the leaks of classified government documents by online whistleblower WikiLeaks, Attorney General Eric Holder said Monday.

“This is not saber-rattling,” said the attorney general, who declared that the Obama administration condemns the leaks.

Holder said the latest disclosure, involving classified State Department documents, puts at risk the security of the nation, its diplomats, intelligence assets and U.S. relationships with foreign governments.

“To the extent that we can find anybody who was involved in the breaking of American law, who put at risk the assets and the people I have described, they will be held responsible; they will be held accountable,” Holder said at a news conference on another topic. He called the WikiLeaks probe “an active, ongoing criminal investigation.”

    Right….These people are not US Citizens upholding the law. Holder wouldn’t have a clue how to investigate them. Now if Wikileaks was in Arizona working on upholding immigration law he probably would prosecute. What are you going to do Erik, send the Black Panthers to Europe?

    At the very most, Wikileaks is a receiver of stolen property, that stolen property is damaging to the persons it was stolen from, because that stolen property is more than likely incriminating evidence consisting of Lord knows what.

    The government is under the control of saboteurs at this time, therefor I’m inclined to stand with Wikileaks on the release of any relevant information that would shed light on the criminal cabal of bankers and heads of state.

      You mean Obama & Co, and Soros & Co.? You DO understand that WikiLeaks was financed by Spokky Dood’s Open Society Institute (OSI), right?

      This is all about carrying out the third step in Soro’s 5-step method he uses to collapse regimes; “Destabilize the State”.

      This will allow them the political cover they need to assume control of what we can see, read, and post on the internet.

      The government cracks down and assumes control of the internet.

      Activists react with protests and riots, along with labor unions over pension/healthcare/wage issues, and they are joined by all the Soros-funded socialist/communist groups which causes national chaos. Food and energy prices skyrocket, widespread hunger spreads.

      The people, under pressure from both the top and bottom, are scared and desperate for anyone or any organization that can rescue them.

      In walk the elitists and their shadow government that’s been under construction right under our nose to “save” us.

      Result; “State Capitalism” aka National Socialism and the New World Order framework of governance, and the death of individual freedom as we’ve known it for some 230 years along with national sovereignty.

      Somewhere in H***, Kruschev, Mao, and Stalin are sitting together on sulfur toadstools watching and laughing at our stupidity and apathy, and rubbing their hands in glee at the prospect of many, many millions more dying for the realization of their Socialist/Communist nightmare of starvation & suffering.

      Don’t let this happen. Control your emotional reactions and anger. Don’t react as they expect. They are provoking us and will continue to do so. They *need* you to react angrily and without thought.

      I’m to the point in life where I believe that your question is unanswerable. People fell in line with Mao even after it was clear to all that he was a murderous thug. People fell in line with (and some still adore and long for his “good old days”) Stalin even when he was killing tens of millions of people. This kind of thing, I think, is some form of mental illness. There is simply no way to comprehend insanity outside of a clinical context.

      The actual answer is conditioned behavior. Those that supported Obama and his Hope and Change have been brainwashed for decades that Fox, Beck, Rush, and virtually anyone that disagrees with them is somehow evil, stupid, racist, ill-informed (*add your own*). The rest of the nonthinking drones are obsessed with T.V., Professional and College sports, movies, the latest Hollywood gossip or honestly have no interest in what they deem “politics as usual”. Honestly, I think it is going to take a collapse of the entire nation, or perhaps a large percentage of the world, to wake some of these folks up. Unfortuately, by that point it will be too late to fix it. Martial law and Anarchy will be the rule and any hope of regaining the United States, our Constitution or our freedom and liberty by force of arms will be “too little too late”.

      You are right but I don’t think the people who fell in line with Mao knew he was a merderous thug. We know that now and some people who did not fall in line might have known back then but the followers were clearly brainwashed.

      I think the followers of Obama have tasted the Kool-Aid and it is too late for them to turn back, clearly it is a disease.

      Ghost,

      The perfect example of this “mental illness” can be found in the form of an audience, every Friday night during “Real Time with Bill Maher”. Maher regulary insults Americans; calling them “stupid” and incapable of “understanding issues” (“like a dog”). On the topic of controversial or unfavorable legislation (i.e. Obama Care), Maher is in favor of the government imposing it’s will on the people:
      “Like I just said, they’re stupid. Just drag them to this.” Maher’s insults toward the American people are met with laughter, cheer and applause supplied by his “American” audience. One has to wonder: Would Maher’s audience still find his remarks funny, if they came from a politician, minus the “APPLAUSE” sign?

      More of Maher’s comments:

      (Talking with Michael Moore) “Well, that idea that America will see, America doesn’t pay attention or see. You have to — America’s like a dog. I’m sorry, but it is. You, it cannot understand actual words. It understands inflection. It understands fear. But you can’t actually explain issues to a dog.”

      “You know, they’re talking about 60 votes they need,” Maher said. “Forget this stuff. You can’t get Americans to agree on anything. Sixty-percent? Sixty-percent of people don’t believe in evolution in this country. He just needs to drag them to it. Like I just said, they’re stupid. Just drag them to this.”

      “Get health care done, you know, with or without them,” Maher said. “Make the gang of six an offer they can’t refuse. This Max Baucus guy – he needs to wake up tomorrow with an intern’s head in his bed.”

      “Bush had horrible ideas – torture, deregulation, massive tax cuts for the rich, preemptive war – horrible ideas. But you know what – he had that swagger that said I’m just going to get it through. Suck on it America if you don’t like it.”

    I don’t think Wikileaks has anything to fear from Holder and Co, I mean the AG didn’t do so well against the New Black Panthers…

    In the past I was upset by the Wikilieaks chap for past leaks, thinking that they could indeed lead to the harm of people on the ground. However, since watching the Napolitano interview from a few months back I’m starting to see things from the Wikilieak point of view.

    Naturally, I’ll have to read the leaks for myself to form a firm opinion though.

    What worries me is that there will be rules put in place or invoked to stop Wikileaks, that could be used against media such as TheBlaze.com or Fox. I know they are different but both are bringing things to the attention of the public that the authorities don’t like. These leaks could be all the excuse the governments around the world need to hammer people on the internet.

      This is just a ploy to take away your freedom of speech.

      It was asked by a Progressive, recently, “What is the crowded theater today?”, in an attempt to take away our freedom of speech. I say that the crowded theater today is having the bad side of free speech hurt us, and in an effort to stop the damage, people would be willing to have their freedom of speech taken from them, not realizing that whatever ills come from free speech, it is far better to have it than not, because a big government that takes your free speech is far more dangerous than isolated incidents of using speech to hurt others.

      And of course, the Progressive who asked this question is the one yelling “Fire!”.

      It’s evident that our so-called security is no more than Swiss cheese considering a PFC can access it.
      Likewise, if our ‘ardent administrator’ means what he says; many heads will roll. And it goes all the way UP the chain of command.

      Its more like china cups rattling. Were any 10 of us in the position to do so we would have had that guy nabbed and spilling his guts before the last document release.

      @GhostOfJefferson

      Part of me wants to believe you but I have a hard time giving Holder enough credit to make the leap from this to Net Neutrality. The fact that a website published this information is an outrage, I don’t think the administration had any choice but to speak out against it.

      We will see what they really end up doing but I really hope you are wrong (no offense).

      calling it a “whistle-blower site” is a propaganda lie!!
      whistle-blowing implies somebody taking personal risk to reveal wrong doings by government or business whistle blowing is a good thing… this isn’t..
      this is a site that randomly dumps large quantity’s of government secrets with no regard for the damage it does or lives it could harm.. it is a “treason site” or a “national security leak site” it has nothing to do with whistle blowing, if government wrong doings get exposed it is only inadvertently..

      we must watch close that the freedom to whistle-blow doesn’t get lost in the rush to shut down these traitors

      @James,

      They’ve been trying to get Net Neutrality passed for some time. It has come in the form of the “Fairness Doctrine” in the past. The main goal is to control the media, to control the message.

      And the way they do it is they use a crisis to say that they NEED to grow the size of government now in order to protect us.

      This is why some of us on here see this as a catalyst to push for control of various, if not all, media outlets – including the big one, the Internet.

      Law – James Beattie (1735-1803)

      LAWS, as we read in ancient sages,
      Have been like cobwebs in all ages.
      Cobwebs for little flies are spread,
      And laws for little folks are made;
      But if an insect of renown,
      Hornet or beetle, wasp or drone,
      Be caught in quest of sport or plunder,
      The flimsy fetter flies in sunder.

      @TrueToTheCoreAmerican

      Your less than pithy insults didn’t really make the point that you may have thought that they made.

      Net Neutrality was voted on last night in the Senate (I do not know the outcome of the vote as of yet). This story pops up badda bing before the vote. The last time Wikileaks showed up in the news, was during, gosh, another raucous debate about…golly…Net Neutrality. If you can’t see the stage crew during the play, that’s your fault, but you can’t declare the play to not be occurring.

      I’m all for exposing government malfeasance. Do it. And I don’t mind Wikileaks doing it. I just find the timing…interesting. And I strongly suspect that somebody is behind the scenes making it happen, even if those folks at wikileaks don’t know it. Just meandering out loud I reckon.
