Holiday Travel Warning: Beware of ‘Thermos’ Terrorists

WASHINGTON (AP) — An administration official says the Homeland Security Department is alerting air carriers to a potential terror tactic involving insulated beverage containers like thermoses.
The official stresses that there is no intelligence about an active terror plot. The official spoke Thursday on condition of anonymity to discuss sensitive security matters.
Travelers may notice that airport screeners are taking a closer look at empty insulated containers, but the official said authorities have no information about a specific threat involving the items.
The Homeland Security Department regularly alerts law enforcement about evolving terror tactics as counterterrorism officials learn about them through intelligence chatter.

Polls say that most people are DRIVING to their destinations this Christmas season, but that isn’t enough! Problem is, only a few of us are ready and willing to do what is necessary. The rest of us are all talk and no action – protesting loudly until they have to get to grandma’s for the holidays, and then saying (if under their breath) “I have no choice! It’s the (fastest – cheapest – only – add YOUR excuse here) to get where I’m going.”
If you haven’t made the choice to stop this nonsense by telling TSA and the airlines where to stick it, stop complaining about “what do we do???” You ain’t doing it!

How about a 5 pound bag of flour and a match? how about an MRE heater and a glass bottle. Won’t do a lot of damage, but will cause a panic. Come on people wake up! Anything and everything around you can harm or kill you if used for that purpose. Just stay vigilant and aware of your surroundings, If something doesn‘t feel right it probably isn’t.

Posted on December 24, 2010 at 8:23amThe following happened on Flight 297 from Atlanta to Houston on 17 Nov 2010.
I was in 1st class coming home. 11 Muslim men got on the plane in full attire. 2 sat in 1st class and the rest peppered themselves throughout the plane all the way to the back. As the plane taxied to the runway the stewardesses gave the safety spiel we are all so familiar with. At that time, one of the men got on his cell and called one of his companions in the back and proceeded to talk on the phone in Arabic very loudly and very aggressively. This took the 1st stewardess out of the picture for she repeatedly told the man that cell phones were not permitted at the time. He ignored her as if she was not there.

In the back of the plane at this time, 2 younger Muslims, one in the back aisle, and one in front of him, window, beganto show footage of a porno they had taped the night before, and werevery loud about it. Now – they are only permitted to do this prior to Jihad.
The 3rd stewardess informed them that they were not to have electronic devices on at this time. To which one of the men said “shut up infidel dog!” She went to take the camcorder and he began to scream in her face in Arabic. At that exact moment, all 11 of them got up and started to walk the cabin.
This is where I had had enough! I got up and started to the back where I heard a voice behind me from another Texan twice my size say “I got your back.“ I grabbed the man who had been on the phone by the arm and said ”you WILL go sit down or you Will be thrown from this plane!“ As I ”led” him around me to take his seat, the fellow Texan grabbed him by the back of his neck and his waist and headed out with him. I then grabbed the 2nd man and said, “You WILL do the same!” As I escorted him forward the plane doors open and 3 TSA agents and 4 police officers entered. Me and my new Texan friend were told to cease and desist for they had this under control.. I was happy to oblige actually. There was some commotion in the back, but within moments, all11 were escorted off the plane. They then unloaded their luggage.
We talked about the occurrence and were in disbelief that it had happen, when suddenly, the door open again and on walked all 11!! Stone faced, eyes front and robotic (the only way I can describe it). The stewardess from the back had been in tears and when she saw this, she was having NONE of it! Being that I was up front, I heard and saw the whole ordeal.
She told the TSA agent there was NO WAY she was staying on the plane with these men. The agent told her they had searched them and were going to go through their luggage with a fine tooth comb and that they were allowed to proceed to Houston. The captain and co-captain came out and told the agent “we and our crew will not fly this plane!” After a word or two, the entire crew, luggage in tow, left the plane. 5 minutes later, the cabin door opened again and a whole new crew walked on.
Again…this is where I had had enough!!! I got up and asked “What the hell is going on!?!?” I was told to take my seat. They were sorry for the delay and I would be home shortly. I said “I’m getting off this plane”. The stewardess sternly told me that she could not allow me to get off. (now I’m mad!) I said “I am a grown man who bought this ticket, who’s time is mine with a family at home and I am going through that door, or I’m going through that door with you under my arm!! But I am going through that door!!“ And I heard a voice behind me say ”so am I”. Then everyone behind us started to get up andsay the same.
Within 2 minutes, I was walking off that plane where I was met with more agents who asked me to write a statement. I had 5 hours to kill at this point so why the hell not. Due to the amount of people who got off that flight, it was cancelled. I was supposed to be in Houston at 6pm. I got here at 12:30am.
Look up the date. Flight 297 Atlanta to Houston. If this wasn’t a dry run, I don’t know what one is. The terrorists wanted to see how TSA would handle it, how the crew would handle it, and how the passengers would handle it.

Remember with the underwear bomber how all of talk radio laughed that it was “the flying Dutchman” that actually saved the plane? Our national tragedy of 9/11 means nothing more to our government than one huge excuse to grow government and STEAL our liberties…just NOW getting around to helping the suffering First Responders (how many have died? Oh, why should THEY get any more press than our BRAVE SOLDIERS who are falling DAILY), still have a hole in the ground for a memorial at Ground Zero…SURE…THEY have OUR BEST INTERESTS AT HEART….NOT…the American people are being taxed to death to grow the TSA (worthless…a front to bail out the Union Pensions), HLS (blowhard boobs)….on and on and on and on…ALL that is needed is PROFILING AND an INFORMED PUBLIC! I loved the story too and did what the OP suggested; Google “Flight 297”. However when I started typing it, Google suggest the word “hoax” follow. That’s never a good sign. This year-old story is meant to incite anger and hate – two emotions that cloud our vision.

I am by my coffee the way some are by their soda pop. Baby bottles, breat milk, shampoo, water, shoes, bras, underware? Are we really any safer? Has one single terror attemt been stopped? NO and NO. The only ones we know about are the ones that failed. We are allowing ourselves to be treated like prisoners. All in the name of safety. Are we really any safer? Doubtful. He who gives up freedom for safety shall have neither. We are being brainwashed to think this kind of treatment is normal and evidently it is working.

The Fort Hood massacre was a success, the Christmas bomber, and the Times Square bomber were not failures, they were successful attacks foiled by incompetentence. They actually “lit the fuse” in these two cases, but their stupidity prevented the bombs from exploding. Regardless of what the elites and the LSM say.

Insulated thermos bottles have a glass or steel interior liner… and vacuum space or foam separates the interior from the outside walls. That space is not visually inspect-able, and if filled with a low density explosive, you would not see it easily on X-Ray.
I got no problem with them inspecting potential items that could house explosives… What I DO HAVE A MAJOR problem with is stupid pieholes who…. “SPEAKING ON A CONDITION OF ANONYMITY”: (Because he not authorized to speak….)
Don’t they *govn’t* wonder why Americans have a trust deficit with them? Not only are they perusing a path that 80% of Americans don’t agree with, they CAN”T EVEN KEEP THEIR MOUTH SHUT to the media!!!!

Upon detonation, it forms a large, noxious gas cloud sending unaware passengers into sinus convulsions and nasal distress, literally GAGGING them. Some bombs have very loud explosions, and other forms have no explosion at all, just the stinky GAS RELEASE.
