‘Homophobes’, ‘Hypocrites’ & ‘Anti-Women’: Republican Alan Simpson Uncensored on 2012 GOP Field

Alan Simpson–former senator, pro-choice Republican, and co-chair of the debt commission–didn‘t mince his words on Chris Matthews’ Hardball tonight. When Matthews asked Simpson about the GOP field for 2012, Simpson said that Republicans should stay away from social issues.
“We have homophobes in our party. That’s disgusting to me.”
He went on:
We’re all human beings. We’re all God’s children. . . . I’m not sticking with people who are homophobic, anti-women – you know moral values while you’re diddling your secretary, while you’re giving a speech on moral values. Come on, get off of it.
Simpson also said that New Jersey’s Chris Christie is “quite awesome”, but that Rick Santorum has said “some cruel, cruel things about homosexuals…foul.”
And on abortion: “Who the hell is for abortion?…they’re hideous, but they’re a deeply intimate and personal issue. I don’t think men legislators should even vote on the issue.”
Reflecting on the 2012 field, Simpson concluded that it “makes you sort out hard what Reagan said, ‘stick with your folks.‘ But I’m not sticking with people who are homophobic, anti-women.”

Given that reasoning am I to assume that if I find pedophilia as gross and abnormal it is because of my own self-loathing and repressed pedophilia desires? Or substitutes any other sexual taboo…No it most certainly does not. It is aimed at silencing any opposition by calling them homophobe which carries that connotation. And any and all groups can have people who practice homosexuality. This doesn’t mean anything about in group in general other than it is common to all men not just liberals or others. Much of the “research” in this area has to do with legitimizing homosexuality, whether looking for the gay gene or other issues, it is not necessarily motivated to find the truth. There are many many contradictory studies on these issues from one spectrum to the other.
