See the Horrific 2011 Video Showing Teen Mom Beating Baby That’s Going Viral

It’s a shocking incident that occurred in May 2011 but is just now circulating in the viral virtual world. A video uploaded to YouTube depicts a Malaysian teen mom violently beating her screaming baby. The mom has since been sent to prison for her actions and the baby is in a foster care home reportedly doing well, but that hasn’t stopped the video from drawing extreme criticism against the mother even a year later.

The four-minute video is so violent it is age restricted on YouTube. It shows the mother forcefully hitting the crying, face down 10-month-old with a pillow, slapping her with an open palm and pinching her all over her body. Even as the baby pushes herself up to crawl, the mother hits it back down and kicks it. Appearing to reach out to her for help, she swats the hand away.

If you think you can stomach it, here is footage of the heartbreaking treatment of the then 10-month-old (Content Warning: Graphic images showing the beating of a baby):

The YouTube video posted above already has more than half a million hits within a day of it being uploaded. This same post of the video has received nearly 11,000 comments within that time-frame, which include one wishing the mother would be hanged for her crime, others calling her foul names and more lamenting that no person, let alone a baby, should be subjected to such abuse. Dozens of YouTube users have also uploaded videos sharing their thoughts about this case.

So if, as CNN notes, the mother who was 18 at the time is already in the middle of serving her 18-month prison sentence for the crime and the baby is being well taken care of, why is this video going viral now? CNN speculates it could be because there was initially confusion as to when the incident originally took place, as is the case with many videos uploaded to YouTube. The local police in the Kuala Lumpur suburb where the incident happened are looking into why the leak occurred now. The police reportedly had seen the footage before as it was presented to them by a friend who was in the room at the time and began filming after the situation became concerning.

CNN also reports the Malaysian police posted on its Facebook page that it has been getting complaints and comments this week over the video as well. Fatimah Zuraidah Salleh, deputy director of the children division of the Social Welfare Department, is said the situation will be evaluated in November when the unnamed mother is set to be released should she seek to regain custody of her daughter.

WWLP (via CNN) in Massachusetts received many emails itself about the violent film and reports Dr. Stephen Boos of Baystate Medical Center’s Family Advocacy Center in Springfield lamenting that this isn’t the worst of it. “I’ve seen so much worse than that–regularly–and then there‘s so much that we don’t see,” Boos said to WWLP. “So this is not uncommon in any way… It’s very common in our society.”

One question we can’t help but editorialize with this story and ask is if a person were in the room filming the situation (and it appears there is another standing in the corner), why didn’t they insert themselves to protect the helpless child?

I have a brain that I have been able to keep un-infected by the neurosis “Meme” of religion.       @Chazmo Been a Jew my whole life.. Bar mitvah, can read hebrew, and my mom is a cantor at synogogue to this day, I’m just not necessarily a Jew who has faith in God but that is not a requirement in judaism anyway. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jewish_principles_of_faith I only use a wiki page for this point because it is something I’ve known as a Jew before wiki ever existed. Much of our views and perspective are oral in nature in Judaism. And as a Jew I would say such things because they are true and I like the cool movies that have manifested from that history. If the world was populated by Jews we wouldn’t have that “imagery” because Jews focus on life and not death as christinity and islam does. We did not produce the evil bestial imagery christianity has brought forth.

      @ARI I am aware of the commentaries and view points in mishnas and Cabala but it is not a central theme in Jewish life and you see by the description you found as “some say…” highlights the aspect of Judaism that involves personal viewpoints rather than dogmas so central christian denominations.. Christians (and many Jews today) are still under the conception our religions are similar but by virtue of our very different perspectives, we have quite different religions. Christianity is a death obsessed religion as is Islam.

      Jews have very sanctimonious and ritualistic ways that we deal with death but it is very specific in that death is something to ignore. We get our dead in the ground asap and we don’t allow open caskets.. See your loved one dead is avoided as much as possible. Following burial we also are prohibited to returning to visit the grave for one year. the memory of the person is always in life. We are not concerned with going to heaven or hell in general. We are concerned with doing mitzvote which is our central theme. It doesn’t matter what you personally believe in terms of god as a jew, it is that as a jew you do mitzvote.. Thus, if not for Christianity, no badass exorcism movies! Hells yea!

      Well, without the film there would be no evidence so perhaps those in the rooms felt there was nothing else to do and they would intervene if things escalated to the next level – not that what we saw here wasn’t bad enough!       some of the posters on here need to re read the Bible. Might be good to start with John 3:16. It says Whosoever, and it means whosoever.

      So what verse tells christians that they need to damn others to hell? I am no theologen, but if not mistaken, the only sin not forgiven, is the sin of refusing to accept Jesus as the Savior.

      If I’d been in that room with that camara..I would have shoved that camara in that girls mouth (after I’d taken the memory card out) and taken that baby and ran. There is no way in He!!       People watching and not stepping in to help the child. Yes evil, but then again there was more than one other person in the room, is this the mob mentality of no one wanting to be the first to act?

      The monster mother looks stoic and robotic as she administers such pain to the child. I really, really would love a translation of the words spoken by the videographer. She sounds like she in a way is encouraging or asking for more violence against the precious child. I hate to think this ,but I wonder if there may be a market for this type of sick video and that is what we are seeing. Something akin to child porn. Perhaps she was doing this for money. Afterall, there are snuff videos and such, there is no limit to the depravity of man, perhaps this is the new thrill. May God keep that child safe and loved from this day forward, I pray her pain will eventually end up saving countless children. I hope the Blaze will keep us updated as to the futures of those involved in this sickening depravity, I hope there is some good to come of it. How sad and shameful. God Bless the child who endured this, I pray for her.

      Has anyone questioned HOW anyone could have stood by and videoed her giving a child this kind of beating without attempting to stop her? You can hear her talking to an adult at one point. Is this adult afraid of her that they’d just take a video and not attempt to help the child?

      Obviously beyond rehabilitation. Drugs are too iffy. I‘d try an exorcism first then if that didn’t show marked improvement take here out in the public square and execute her point blank with as .45. It may not be the resolution we all “dream” about but I think it would be a step in the right direction for the village. The kid would grow to know God thru the actions of his village/ society and come to know those such actions as actions of love. Be done with it and move on.

      Maybe they could shoot her in the chest then study her brain??? Hope they’re performing studies and collecting data during her prison stay. Maybe they could ship her to a university in the states for studies… she could be our little lab rat… then shoot her in the chest and study her brain.

      Poor soul… a human in hell.

This poor innocent child. if this had happened in front of me I think I would killed this person myself. God forgive me but I would kill her right there.       @ Cristden, If the mother is insane, than so are the other adults in the room watching this take place. There is also a young boy looks to be between 2-4 year old also watching (blocked by the mom, but could see him once or twice). This mother is a pure excuse of a mom and should be getting way more than 18 months in prison. I hope that the baby does not have to go back into her care. G-d only knows the anger the mom has developed after being in jail for 18 months.

      No child this young should ever be treated like this. G-d bless this child.

      First you must understand that in the world of Malaysia human life is cheap. And ad to that Islam and the horrible things that are perpetrated on and to muslim women how could this woman have any affection for her infant. most likely she was raped and also had her clitoris removed at puberty. she is acting out her rage at thee way she to has been treated. I do not condone her behavior but I can understand why. She needs lots of help that will never be there. I hope the baby can be adopted into a loving Christian home. Regardless of what any ignorant Jew has to say.

    If this isn’t enough to make your blood boil with anger, I do not know what is. Please God, help this child stay away from the Demon that created her. I have a few words to say about the mom and the other people standing around playing pocket pool, but they are not kind. If I ever saw that happening in my field of view, I would not hesitate to employ the same methods as the offender – and it would be quite a bit worse. Sick, truly and utterly sick. I wish I could take that child into my home, and provide the desperate care that she needs.

    Absolutely heartbreaking. 18 months ? 18 months ? Not nearly enough . Can not imagine what effect this will have on that poor child as this was not a one time event. How could anyone hurt such a helpless being ? 18 months ? I hope this woman is branded with a Scarlet B for Beast.

    A baby being beaten, is one of those things that I literally cannot bring myself to watch!!! There are too many things out on the Internet that can scar your mind and soul. I pray for the baby, and for the baby’s mama, that she may become a good, caring, and decent mama.

      I’m with you, is this a news site? Why not just post porn clips so we can see how many hits the blaze can get today. This video serves no purpose whatsoever. Can we put her in jail? No, shes already there. Can we help this child? No, it has probably been adopted or is sitting in an orphanage in malaysia. Do you speak malaysian, I would venture to say no, so posting this video is pure voyeurism and oppurtunism by the author. Next story……Beach Boys singer says Obama’s an A**hole. Who cares? Cmon guy’s if I wanted to see child beatings, i’m sure I could find them on my own. Maybe rent Faces of Death 1- 200 until I become a sociopath. We don’t need you to serve it up.     Oh geez, but she’s A MOM! So it’s OK, right ladies? Before you shout “no”, remember Susan Smith? How about the woman that dropped her newborn in the garbage at prom? They all get a slap on the wrist – even in this country. If a person murdered a strangers baby, they’d get the night-night-needle, and they’d deserve it.

    Mommies Dearest are immune from justice, because there is an unspoken rule that they get to do with their offspring what they please. And most mommies think they are owed respect simply based on the fact they gave birth – child rearing or lack thereof is immaterial.
