Horrific Vid: 17-Year-Old Mother Caught Trying to Smother Baby

Before you watch this video, know that the the young mother in it — 18-year-old Shantaniqua Scott — was found guilty of two counts of injury to a child with serious bodily injury. Knowing that makes it bearable to watch as Scott tries multiple times to smother her 4-month-old son as he lies helpless in a hospital crib.
NBC DFW explains what happened:
The video shows Scott placing a blanket over the baby’s face for more than 20 seconds. A nurse briefly enters the room. Scott paces the floor and appears to check her cell phone.
The courtroom watched in absolute silence during what happened next.
The camera captured Scott covering her baby’s face with her bare hand. At first, the baby kicks and fights back.
By the time she removes her hand one minute and 14 seconds later, the baby appears limp.
Seconds later, with alarms indicating the baby had stopped breathing going off, doctors and nurses rush in to resuscitate him.
The young boy survived due to the fast actions of the hospital staff. He is now in foster care.
During Scott’s trial, it took the jury just 20 minutes to deliberate and find her guilty. She’s now awaiting her sentencing, which includes the possibility of life in prison.

They are taught that we descended from apes, we are nothing but a slightly higher form of animal and that life itself is an accident. They are taught that we are just lumps before birth and that after being born, we have no real purpose for life and therefore, life can be ended because we are valueless.
GOD help us. The churches have abdicated their responsibility to teach Genisis and to explain that we human beings were created by GOD for a purpose. In fact, many churches now follow the evolutionaty line and even believe that the entire universe is an accident of nature. Shame on these Laodicean churches and their leadership. As a matter of fact, many churches resemble the church of Thyatira (Revelation chapter 18) which tolerated the teachings of Jezebel. Evolution would be right up Jezebel’s alley because it excuses the value of humanity and even encourages people to commit fornication and act like the animals we are supposedly descended from.
I pray that there will soon be a GOD inspired revival to sweep America and return us to the the very foundations of the Christian faith. I pray for the HOLY SPIRIT to come and cause a return to the Christianity of JESUS. COME QUICKLY LORD JESUS!!!

And just a thought, but perhaps the Restoring Courage Rally will be that revival you speak of. I know it will be in Israel, but I trust that there will be A LOT going on here to show our support as well. I for one can not afford to go to Israel (but am willing if it is God‘s will and He’ll provide the means). But I plan on showing my support here…don’t know how, but I will.

Hospital staff placed the camera in the room because they suspected child abuse from the mother.

After all the constitution gives us the rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Couple of facts here: he is 4 months old in a hospital. Why is he there? Does he have some horrible, dibilitating disease that made this young mother freak out? I don’t know, but I also don’t think so. Was he abused …by her or daddy? What would drive her to try to kill him in THE HOSPITAL, where he is attached to a vitals monitor?
The only conraticting evidence shown in this limited story is that the jury only needed 20 minutes to convict. They must have heard all the evidence and only took as long as needed to vote to convict.
The Blaze is always putting up incomplete stories like this, making us knee-jerk react. How bout some more meat, Blaze?
