‘Horrific Yet Intriguing’: Large Group of Sharks Goes Into Crazy Feeding Frenzy Over Dead Whale Near Shoreline

Such is the circle of life — something dies and something else will eat it. In this case, a dead whale off the coast of Warroora Station in northwest Australia became a meal for dozens of hungry sharks.
The Blaze has showed you shark feeding frenzies before, but in this one a spectator actually plays chicken with the sharks, which in reality are far more occupied with the whale to pay attention. Those who filmed the scene at an uncomfortably close distance described it as “horrific yet intriguing.”
One of the witnesses, junior pro surfer Rachel Campbell, wrote in a blog post that she was “shocked to find my worst nightmare dominating the shoreline a mere 400 [meters] ahead” as she walked along the beach.

Not only did she counterintuitively continue to advance toward the sharks, she ran toward the spectacle.
Campbell estimates there were about 100 sharks of differing species, including tiger sharks and reef sharks, some up to four meters long.
Watch the footage:
However unsettling for Campbell’s peace of mind, as she and her friends were in the area to surf, they still took to the waves at a distance later on. Now though, they know full well what could be below them.
“What I do know is that my ignorance has gone out the window and I am well aware of those beasts outside my control,” she wrote. “I will still surf here though, because it’s not about merely surviving this ocean, it’s about living and breathing everything that this crazy place has to offer. Let’s just hope those sharks are full for now.”

Posted on June 23, 2012 at 1:05pmIf only Australia had voted Obama in. This whale would be alive and on a diet and those poor hungry sharks (they are victims to becuase the evil Aussie government forces them to fend for themselves) would be on some sort of “fish stamp” program. Its not to late, I’m sure Obama has ans Australian birth certificate to prove he is eligible for office :P

Posted on June 24, 2012 at 4:34pmThere is only one way for the Ron Paul supporters to “win”. But, I personally think that they are just another face on a population of whiners.
If they had just 2,000 dedicated people – I mean dedicated like the original settlers were dedicated – they could change this country. Not one drop of blood need be spilt. Not one angry word need be spoken.
To NOT have done this before is simply beyond my understanding.

Posted on June 22, 2012 at 4:59pmBy all likelihood they sharks did not just come across the dead whale. Some group was hunting it when it was still alive for days. It collected more sharks the closer to death it came. Until it beached itself to get away but it was to late and died.

Posted on June 22, 2012 at 4:08pmGood thing that one of the idiots from National Geographic wasn’t there. They always make the claim that sharks isn’t dangerous, and that they only bite man by mistake… “How do they know that?”
Report Post »Did they get a memo from the International League of Sharks?
They will always crazy claims with great confidence, like ” a dolphin has the intelligence of a 5 yr old child….
Or that this species is extinct or that one is, with there Disney science to back it up, and the worst part is that nobody questions their claims. According to Ted Danza’s 1990 predictions there should not be any life in the Ocean by today. Nobody wants to see any species go extinct, but these emotional lies and Disney science is ruining peoples jobs and making lots of $’s doing it because it is politically incorrect to question any of these nut jobs. Chances are that the most people have been affected by it to some degree or other. Here is the test for you: Are you Ok with Whaling? Most people are shocked when I tell them that I love whale meat! Whaling is banned in most countries and there area a great pressure from the majority of countries against the once that do. It is as though that the once that fish whales main goal is to make them extinct, and purely emotional. Now we see the same with sharks. Because of the reduced fishing of sharks we see a rise in shark attacks around the world and increased sightings of Great White sharks along beaches here in the US.
