Hot Mic: Dem Sen. Caught Saying Lame Duck Agenda is ‘All Rigged’

A microphone accidentally left on during Tuesday’s Senate session caught one Democratic senator complaining that the agenda is “all rigged.”
After voting on the Food Safety Act, a microphone picked up Sen. Michael Bennet (D-CO) complaining that the process of setting the agenda during the lame-duck session is “rigged.”
“It’s all rigged. The whole conversation is rigged,” he said. “The fact that we don’t get to a discussion before the break about what we’re going to do in the lame duck. It’s just rigged.”
In comments made to the Daily Caller, Bennet Chief of Staff Guy Cecil stood by the remarks.
“It’s something he’s been talking about from day one,” Cecil told the DC. “The whole process being rigged against having a real conversation about tax cuts, the estate tax and the defense authorization. We’re not having a lot of those conversations. It’s just a symptom of Washington being broken.”
UPDATE:
According to MSNBC‘s Kelly O’Donnell, Bennet’s ire is directed toward his own party and its leadership. “Colorado Democrat Michael Bennet is apparently unhappy with the Democratic leadership’s plan for the lame duck session,” she reports.
When O’Donnell reached out to the Bennet camp for a comment, aid Adam Bozzi echoed Cecil’s statement from earlier:
For almost two years, he [Bennet] has talked about needing to fix a broken Washington. We can’t move forward on major issues facing our country because of a broken system that is rigged to prevent progress. We are now in the second week of this session and haven’t begun debating Defense Authorization or tax cuts that will expire at the end of the year. Colorado and the rest of our country deserve better which is why he has proposed overhauling the way Washington works, including filibuster and lobbying reforms.
O’Donnell also reports that Bennet appears to have been talking with fellow Democrat Amy Klobuchar (Minn.).

Since he is retired, he is speaking his mind. Our active members of the military share the same views but, cannot share them as Peters did.
Our Government is indeed broken…it will need a reset. We will soon find out the name of our new George Washington. Obama as CIC legally controls the military and there is a chain of command however, our men in uniform have honor that our Congress and President lack.

A vote for kids on health insurance policies until 26 and insurance companies having to take pre-conditions is not in our best interest. I have two things BC/BS rejected and it p.o.’d me, but until they do something about tort reform and erasing state lines so there is some real competition, I am going to bide my time with very little insurance (and pray nothing major happens). They were not voted into office to suck up to Obama’s plan, they were voted into office to repeal it and start over.
