The House Oversight Committee will vote next week on whether to hold Attorney General Eric Holder in contempt of Congress for failing to turn over subpoenaed documents related to the Fast and Furious investigation.
If the measure passes through committee, it will then likely go to the full House for a vote. The news was first reported by CBS.
The Justice Department has insisted it has cooperated with the congressional investigation, turning over tens of thousands of documents and having Holder testify at hearings, most recently last week. Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.), one of the leaders of the investigation, said there are still tens of thousands of documents that have yet to be handed over, according to CBS.
“The Obama Administration has not asserted Executive Privilege or any other valid privilege over these materials and it is unacceptable that the Department of Justice refuses to produce them. These documents pertain to Operation Fast and Furious, the claims of whistleblowers, and why it took the Department nearly a year to retract false denials of reckless tactics,” Issa said in a statement announcing the vote, according to CBS.
Issa said the Justice Department can still put a stop to the contempt process by turning over the documents.
According to Fox News, the Republican leadership approved the committee’s move.
Issa first circulated a draft copy of the resolution laying out the contempt case for Holder in May.

Posted on June 11, 2012 at 10:25amIt has ONLY been a year and a half of investigations. Now, they are “scheduling” a vote for contempt against Holder. Well, I don’t think we need to hold our breath for the Republicans in the House to follow through. What a charade. Rep. Issa deserves an academy award for pretending to care, for dragging the course of action they are to take against this criminal out to infinity and beyond. Meanwhile, the criminals in the White House are running rampant, committing more crimes against America – completely unchecked.

They know the next D.O.J. will be seizing passports and filing warrants for the Unconstitutional actions ofObama and Obama’s NLRB,FCC,DOE,DOE,DOJ.EPA.and a host of others. These people need to be brought up on treasonist charges.

Posted on June 11, 2012 at 4:52pmIf the committee and the house as a whole don’t vote to hold him in contempt and demand his resignation the American people need to replace those who vote against. Epic Holdup is so guilty and so arrogant that he needs to be arrested and impeached. We should all be able to celebrate on Jan 26 when this bunch is gone. The problem is Sweet Old Barack isn’t going to go easy. If he doesn’t attempt to declare Martial Law he will mess up everything he can by executive order or departmental regulations and leave a nightmare for the next administration. Posted on June 12, 2012 at 10:35pmIt will be a long drawn out process. I think they have enough to press charges and remove him now. While waiting for the subpoenaed records he could be sitting in jail instead of the White House. Now that could speed things up. Where are these 80,000 plus records? Get warrants to back up your subpoenas and clean out agencies involved. If they see Holder arrested it should slow the leaks quite a bit. These are traitors. Some should go for state’s evidence.

Posted on June 11, 2012 at 10:13amHave you ever noticed how when the people of this country want something to happen, and the politicians don’t want the same results, then the vote almost always turns out to be just a few votes short. I am willing to bet that this is what is going to happen.
Then they parade the politicians out in front of the cameras and say things like “we almost had it”, “we were just a few votes short”, “we don‘t know why a few republicans wouldn’t go along with us”.
This is what you will hear from Boehner when it comes down to actually voting results on the contempt charges.
It will end up being an expensive investigation with no results! And they will say “we tried hard, and can‘t understand why we couldn’t succeed”.
Just like the balanced budget a decade ago. “Oh, we missed it by one vote”.

Posted on June 12, 2012 at 11:06pmThe longer it drags on the more it hurts Obama. Problem appears to be that some of our seasoned career politicians possibly in unison with all those unvetted czars, and aides and assistants in the White House followed Obama’s brazen lead in trying to make him look like a super hero. They broke laws in the process and destroyed our security, reputation and credibility. Like a middle school clique. gossip central, childish yet devastating to the entire globe in its scope. The facts will be had eventually and all envolved will look treasonous. People have died and we are all in danger. Obama created this can of worms that runs wild in the White House doing his job for him so he could campaign, golf and vacation away the bulk of his first term. They appear to have all had carte blanche and no checks in place. Congress finally stepped in. Are they in time? Let the finger pointing begin.
