House Votes to Defund Planned Parenthood

WASHINGTON (The Blaze/AP) — The House has approved a Republican proposal to block federal aid for Planned Parenthood.

The 240-185 vote on Friday is a victory for anti-abortion forces led by Indiana GOP Rep. Mike Pence. He says taxpayer money should not go to groups that provide or promote abortion.

Democrats say Planned Parenthood provides contraception and other valuable family planning services, and that cutting off the money will make it hard for women to get such basic help.

Planned Parenthood provides services in hundreds of clinics around the country. Pence aides say the group reported receiving $363 million in federal money in its latest report.

The proposal is part of a bill that seeks to cut government spending this year.

The Democratic-run Senate has stronger abortion rights views than does the House, making it unlikely the House proposal will survive.

Planned Parenthood has came under heavy scrutiny recently. The group Live Action released a series of undercover videos this month showing Planned Parenthood workers advising a fake pimp on how to circumvent abortion laws and even how to run an underage sex ring.

It’s the right thing to do.
Funding the murder of infants for convenience has never polled very high with the vast majority of Americans. Most tax-payers just don’t want their money going there. Period. They may be willing to allow it legally ( we’d know for sure if we could vote on it ), but they don’t want to pay for it. It makes them feel complicit in the execution.

If rioting breaks out in the streets, who do you think is going to be behind it? The Progressive Democrats. If Obama shutters the offices distributing the SS checks, who do you think will be the party voted OUT OF OFFICE?

The American people have spoken. If the majority doesn’t want it, the majority shouldn’t have to fund it. Since the Democrats are the minority now, the only course of action is violence. I’m willing to bet that Organizing Against America is lining up the busses right now!!! AND the tee-shirts.

Recognizing that if you’re going to sell your sacred cow as “choice” and then having to own it sure rankles you, doesn’t it? Why, I’d say expecting folks to pay for your “choice” without question is a bit callow. Assuming the moral high ground at this point with any discussion about Planned Parenthood is laughable. This is an entity that can’t abide by mandated reporting laws that would have me fired and decertified if I said “Piss it on it. I know better.” To suspect Planned Parenthood puts money where it wishes regardless of pesky laws doesn’t take a profound leap of faith or logic. It would appear to be an assumption one could make based on precedent. And a line of inquiry that should be pursued while this sacred is made to stand on its own two feet. You know… like an adult.
Defending the indefensible to the bitter end is childish, friend. Let’s see what the “seante” chooses. I mean, it’s all about “choice”, right?

Should a 10 year old child be forced to go through the trauma of childbirth after having gone through the trauma of rape. With that said, I don’t believe abortion is the answer. But what is?

I am Pro-Choice by nature. However, that being said, I would never and have never considered abortion for myself. I believe that it should be an individual choice. Even though I am Pro-Choice I don’t believe taxpayers should foot the bill for abortions. Nor do I believe abortions should be used as birth control. If the “poor, poverty stricken” that will be affected by the lack of funds from Planned Parenthood, and can no longer get free abortions–maybe they will be less inclined to get pregnant in the first place.

We need to publize every name that voted against it and the State they represent..They are mouthing fiscal responsibility but when it comes right down to it they don’t want ANY of their projects cut..I sent a letter to all my reps(both senate and house) regarding their own large spending budgets and so far the only one that responded on that e-mail was my rep in the house. He says that he pays into the Social Security fund, what he doesn’t say is that he will get a very large pension for his MANY years in the congress..My original e-mail suggested that ALL HOUSE AND SENATE pension money be rolled over into the Social Security fund and that they draw what the rest of us do, which is based on the last 3-5 years that we work. I also suggested that he read the bills himself and reduce his staff by 2/3′s. He didn’t address that either.. Must not have liked that idea..

If they had decided a day before the baby was born that they wanted to have an abortion it would have been perfectly legal. But the next day when the baby was born, if they had decided they didn’t want it, it would have been murder. Just something to think about. Good Job John Boehner, Mike Pence, et al! If anyone wants to do a little research, get on line and look up what Norma McCorvey [aka jane roe] and Bernard Nathanson, MD are saying about abortion now. When you read about the behind the scenes manipulating that went into getting roe v wade passed, you’ll be appalled. Close to 55 million babies have been brutally murdered since roe v wade passed in 1973.

good news indeed. However,I‘m not too thrilled that Congress will be taking the netire week off next week to celebrate PResident’s Day, With such pressing business as the budget being hammered out, they need to take a day at most to celebrate, and get back to work!

This is an attempt at appeasement for the conservative community. They know nothing will come of this because the senate will not pass it so it will eventually die. Unless and until, liberal republicans and democrats in general are ousted from the senate NOTHING the Tea Party movement has stood for will come to pass. Either intensify the pressure (as our adversaries in wisconsin are doing) or your efforts in Nov were all for naught.

I love it when they make the politicians take a stand and now they will have to explain this come re-election time. Say good bye to all those progressives and their idiotic ideology that is causing this country to erode into a third world status.

Birth control pills are a carcinogen–significant increased risk for cancer. Planned Parenthood gives them to young girls and women.

We started as a nation under God and richly blessed. Evil crept in unawares and America is being devoured by it. It is easy to see why our nation is dying. Most of us are afraid to look at what we’re doing to our own precious little ones. It’s time to open our eyes and admit our error: http://www.nrlc.org/abortion/pba/DEabortiongraphic.html http://www.nrlc.org/abortion/pba/PBA_Images/PBA5.BMP

has anyone noticed that all these regulations/rules are, and were done by this admin. look deeply at these measures they interfere with every single aspect of your lives. how can they say they are not socialist, REALLY? IT IS TIME NOW FOR THE REPUB,S AND DUMBACRTACS TO LOOK AT ALL THESE MEASURES, AND ASK THOSE WHO WROTE THEM TO EXPLAIN TO THE AMERICAN PEOPLE. HOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING IS NOT ABOUT THE GOV’T CONTROLLING EVERYTHING. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE EINSTEIN TO LOOK AND SEE THIS. AS SOME ARE STARTING TO UNMASK THEMSELVES I THINK THEY ARE THE LOWER END OF THIS CAMPAIGN, THE REAL DRIVERS OF THIS AGENDA ARE STILL HIDDEN. I THINK BECAUSE THEY KNOW WE WILL NOT STAND FOR THIS, COWARDS THEY ARE. THE REAL QUESTION TO BE ASKED IS, IF THERE IS AN AGENDA TO CHANGE TO A SOCIALIST GOV’T{ WHICH OBVIOUSLY THERE IS} LETS ARREST AND TRY AND CONVICT THESE LOONS. I’M POSSITIVE THAT THE MAIN PLAYERS HAVE TAKEN AN OATH AGAINST THIS SUCH ACTIVITY, WHO WILL BE THE PERSON TO DEMAND ANSWERS AND THEN TAKE APPROPIATE ACTIONS? THEN QUESTION 2. THROW THEM OUT OF THIS COUNTRY OR JAIL? THE OATH TO DEFEND THE CONSTITUTION IS THE MOST SACRED IN THIS LAND. NOT TO BE TAKEN LIGHTLY AS PART OF THE SCHEME TO GET INTO OFFICE. THEN DISMANTLE IT. IT EXPLICITLY SAYS TO DEFEND THE CONSTITUTION AGAINST ALL ENEMIES BOTH FOREIGN AND DOMESTIC. IF THESE PEOPLE HAVE THEIR WAY THAT OATH WILL BE NO MORE THAT IN ITSELF IS AN ENEMY AND MUST BE DEFENDED AGAINST. YES WE ARE A FREE NATION TO DO AND SAY WHATEVER WE WANT {WITHIN REASON}. THERE HAS TO BE A LINE WHEN IT COMES TO FUNDEMENTALLY CHANGING THIS COUNTRY. IF NOT WHY TAKE THAT OATH? WHY HAVE THE OATH, IF YOU GET VOTED TO OFFICE AND TAKE AWAY WHAT SO SO MANY HAD GIVEN THEIR LIVES FOR. I TOOK THE OATH IN 92 EVEN THOUGH I’M NO LONGER ACTIVE MIL. THAT OATH GOES WITH ME TILL I DIE. THESE PEOPLE TREAT IT AS A FOREMALITY. TIME FOR ACTION IS UPON US IF NOT NOW IT SHOULD BE SOON, OR I HATE TO SAY THE CONSEQENCES. THIS IS NOT A CALL FOR VIOLENCE, BUT LEGAL ACTION, AND MORE IMPORTANTLY IN THE VOTING BOOTHS. GOD BLESS AMERICA
