House Votes to Repeal Obamacare, With Help From Five Dems

The U.S. House of Representatives on Wednesday voted to repeal President Barack Obama’s health care law, a largely symbolic move that has virtually no chance of moving forward.

Five Democrats crossed the aisle to join 239 Republicans in voting to overturn the Affordable Care Act: Rep. Mike Ross (Ark.), Reps. Mike McIntyre and Larry Kissell of North Carolina, Rep. Dan Boren (Okla.) and Rep. Jim Matheson (Utah). Not a single Republican voted to keep the law. The final vote count was 244 to 185.

The Democrat-controlled Senate has made clear any similar repeal effort will not succeed, and Obama has vowed to veto any such bill that reaches his desk.

The House vote comes two weeks after the Supreme Court upheld the law’s constitutionality. It was the 33rd time Republicans have voted to scrap the law in whole or in part since its passage in 2010.

So many on the far Left, or moderate Democrats, think this fight against this “healthcare” is about a game to be won, or that it’s about not liking a “Black” president, as if the presidency is a “burden” to Barack, as if we the people never voted him in. It’s not. This “healthcare” is dangerous. If there‘s ONE segment of society that can be turned into anything at anytime in order to have an excuse to rule over every single detail in everyone’s lives, it’s under the umbrella of national “healthcare”.

It‘s also the one thing you’ll never be able to avoid, and afterall, it’s “for your own good”. I say, keep your creepy hands off me!!

I’m saying, please take this seriously. Let the States decide what’s best for their citizens.

The perfect example of affordable healthcare is the plastic surgery market. Enhancements started being very expensive and done only by a few doctors. Then free market principles allowed it to expand to what it is today. It weeded out the bad doctors, improved the process, and lowered the costs. You can also go to any state and get it done. Free market brought better quality and lower rates.

We could do the same with Healthcare by allowing health insurance companies to offer their services in all 50-states, not just one or two as they are allowed now. That would force them to openly compete with each other for business. That would mean shorter wait times, more options, and lower costs.

This demonstrates why we need to capture the Senate and elect Romney. Yes you pauliacs, Romney. He is the only person who has a chance to beat Obama and really start to right the course. This is the issue all along. If you refuse to vote for Romney and go elsewhere or don’t vote, by default Obama can win, your candidate, I guarantee will not, and Ocare becomes nearly impossible to change and we will not see significant reduction in spending or entitlement reform for FOUR more years. If, however we begin to change course now, AND we keep electing more conservative congressmen we can have the government that you (and I) want. Perhaps 2016 or 2020 is the year for a true libertarian BUT WE MUST set the stage for that change. If we give it over once more to the liberals they just may declare some constitutional amendments or executive orders that eliminate our right to participate in choosing our government. Wake up and smell the coffee.

“Republicans, eager to put Senate Democrats on record on taxes, tried to force a vote Wednesday on President Obama’s proposal to extend middle-class tax cuts but raise taxes for the rich, but Majority Leader Harry Reid objected, essentially sidelining the president’s plan.” Come on MONICNE/ENCINOM where’s your contempt for Harry Reid (D) like it is for the GOP house?

By the way…how many of those 33 bills has Harry Reid blocked from being voted on in the senate?
Oh and when little Barry enjoyed a filibuster proof majority in both houses he gave us Obamacare and the stimulus. Obamacare just got priced at $2.6 trillion over 10 years (remember when little Barry crowed about it costing only 900 billion?…ah fun times huh?). As for the stimulus…80K jobs in June this year…30% of which were temporary jobs. 85K on Social Security Disability. 8.2% unemployment. Underemployment at nearly 15%.

How would you know if we’re in compliance with the law? Only the IRS and associated agencies have that knowledge since they are the ones judging whether you are insured or not. If they decide your insurance is inadequate then you’ll be penalized for not buying the insurance they think you should have. Or, to put it another way, they get to tell insurance companies what kind of insurance policies they must sell in order for their customers to be exempt from the penalty.

And of course there’s the issue of how much confusion there is in the IRS over the enforcement of tax laws without Obamacare. You really think the IRS isn’t going to screw up? How much do you want to bet that the IRS will start auditing people who are insured for not paying the penalty?
