Houston New Black Panther Leader Would Like to Take a ‘Belt’ to Teen at Center of Police Beating — But Why?

Chad Holley, a teenager who was captured on video being beaten by Houston police in 2010 after committing a burglary (Holley was tried in court and found guilty of that burglary), is back in jail again — on yet another burglary charge.

ABC explains what happened to both Holley and the police officers involved, following the first incident:

In March 2010, a then 15-year-old Holley was beaten by HPD officers during a burglary arrest. His beating was captured on a nearby surveillance video, which was turned over to authorities. As a result, six officers were fired and four of them were charged with misdemeanor official oppression. One of the officers, Andrew Blomberg, was acquitted last month, sparking outrage among many who did not agree with the verdict. The other officers are still awaiting trial.

In October 2010, Holley himself was convicted in connection to that burglary. He was sentenced to probation, which he completed in April when he turned 18. During his testimony in Blomberg’s trial, Holley said he had stayed out of trouble during his probation. He graduated from high school last month.

During his first run-in with the law, the then 15-year-old had a staunch defender in Houston New Black Panther leader Quannel X. This time around, however, X was not so generous with his support. During an interview with talk radio host Joe Pags, the New Black Panther said he is angry, heartbroken and feels disrespected by Holley. What’s more, he said he’d like to “take his belt off and tear him a new one.”

After the alleged police beating and subsequent lawsuit against police two years ago, Holly had a “new lease on life” but chose to commit the same crime twice. “Only a crazy, insane man,“ according to X ”would make that decision.” With this in mind, X said he believes Holley needs counseling and therapy, which he hopes to help provide.

“I don’t want to turn my back on him totally,” ceded X, who said he felt like a father who had “invested so much in a boy.”

    Having a NBP for a father figure will be the worse thing this kid could endure. I am sure hatred for other races is already one excuse the 15 year old uses for crimes committed and the NBPs have no love for none but their own. The NBP, X only wants to be in the news and is no better than this kid himself….somebody probably needs to “tear him a new one too.”

      Local leaders in law enforcement and the black community announced this afternoon that they were coming up with a jobs training program for troubled youth so that they would not end up another victim of society like Chad did. I have had enough of this crap where no matter what a young black man does he is a victim of society. I am responsible for my own actions and accept accountability for them. The real problem with our society is that excuses are made for the criminals and the rest of the community is the guilty party for not providing them with more oppurtunities.

      The NBP is full of Muslims. They don’t tolerate crime. He‘s lucky he didn’t advocate having his hand chopped off. That‘s what these thugs don’t realize. Muslims don’t like crime, homosexuals or drinking. Won’t it be a rude awakening when they take over cities and start doling out their punishments?

    I got a feeling when the ecomomy breaks down, and people have to defend themselfs because of little or no police in that crisis, Blacks will very fast learn to behave like saints, because 5 or 6 trillion dollars, maybe more have been transfer from the LBJ days to present to all races of course, but with blacks only 12-15% of the the people, they do end of with greater share, and we all know this money has been wasted, gone down the drain, and every day people are sick of giving their hard earn money
    taken and given to this lose cause, people are sick of the GIMMIE, DO ME, YOU OWN ME attitude of blacks. I am a white male yes, but i have a black girlfriend, and i have a small business and we both have tried to give jobs to some of her family and friends who are on the dole, goods jobs and they will not take it, or only last one day, never come back, but still have the nerve to ask us for money, and to give us a evil look and hassle us when we now say no.
    Blacks will not be able to get away with this stuff forever. Because Liberals will not be their to baby them in a crisis, and everyday hard working people now know the scam.

    I’m disappointed in the posts on this article. I have always expected more from the Blaze bloggers. Yes, this kid messed up and deserves jail. At best, the officers actions were hot-headed and immature. At worst, they were beating a kid because he’s black. Either way, that is not how law enforcement officers are supposed to act and they should be held accountable for what they did. You do not kick, stomp, and punch someone that is lying face down on the dirt with their hands behind their head.
    As far as Quannel X goes, in this case, he is dead on accurate. All he is saying is that after what he had done to help the kid (whether you agree with that or not), his efforts were betrayed. A kid that was given an opportunity – and while he was in the spotlight – acted stupidly. He spoke of parents punishing children out of love and how our government works against parents doing that. Did you not hear what he said, or were you looking through your filtered lenses?
    Now back to you bloggers and comments like, “a much deserved beating”, “where’s George Zimmerman”, “job well done to these officers”, “the cops didn’t beat him enough”. These comments are not becoming of most of you. We (conservatives) are still supposed to be a candle in the darkness. We are still supposed to treat others the way we want to be treated. Be very careful that you do not fall into the traps that’s been set for you. These remarks are exactly what ‘they’ want you to say. Be better

      I agree that very often we are tempted and drawn into traps carefully laid to further the meme of how cruel and inhumane conservatives are. Both the young man and the police officers were guilty of illegal actions. It used to be that the police officers were to be respected and obeyed and there are many that still hold themselves to very high standards. Unfortunately, there are those that get carried away and deserve to be punished for violating the public trust. Therein lies the rub though, getting to punish a police officer is just as difficult as punishing a teacher. It costs thousands of hard earned tax dollars to fight the unions that defend them with either the blue wall or chalkboard of silence. Look at the millions of dollars that large cities flush down the toilet keeping misbehaving teachers in “rubber rooms” since they don’t trust them in the classroom. I agree with X that the young man deserved a second chance, but how many second chances do you give someone?

      they wer‘nt beating him because he’s black,thats a cop out they were beating him because he had the audacity to not follow their cammands and run.my brother in law was beaten to a pulp in front of 20 people for putting up his hand and showing the cops his IQ was 1.they stompped him worse than rodney king way worse than this kid,left my one and half yr old baby nefue still strapped in the bycycle chair crying.held him in jail for three days blocking his lawyer the whole time until he got a court order saying any cop stopping him from his client will be arrested by state troopers. no media outlet big or small would touch this story because he was“ WHITE” .and thats their quote.just BAD cops……

    If this is racist, so be it. Why are so many criminals black. The numbers don’t lie. I believe the government plays a giant role, along with the parents, in them being criminals. The welfare state is the culprit. All criminals believe they deserve to take from someone, instead of earning it themselves. Low income families, no matter the color, do not raise their children to be respectful, productive, citizens. All they do is raise them to be just another welfare recipient. Our government needs to stop paying people for nothing! Not to mention that he was found guilty of burglary, yet was only put on probation? Gee, that taught him a lesson didn’t it? This country has turned into a POS!

      you need to pump your f…… brakes pal. I was raised in a very low income one parent household and have never committed a burglery. I’m a former army ranger and have raised three fine children myself. My mother never took one stinking penny from the govt.

    What on earth were these Houston cops thinking? Do you really think this kind of MADNESS could ever be buried or swept under the rug? This young man, though he probably did something that he should not have done, certainly does not deserve anything like this madness. It is no wonder there is such hatred between blacks and the whites.

    Are we going back to Rodney King style beatings from LA and riots and madness all over again. As a white man, I am embarrassed for how these cops (white cops) beat and kicked and kicked and kicked this young black man. Where on earth is respect? I hate what has happened! There will be a day of reckoning for all of us….including these brutal, ignorant cops.

    My friends in Houston, this is going to be a problem!

    I know some black panthers who need a belt to their azz too. They are right on this one, but the parents should have tried to teach him respect and honesty and may have. Some people just want to be tough. It is better the home disciplines them Properly, not beating, but some swift smacks on the butt when about 4 or 5 with a hand, and deprived of privileges when older. After a kid is older no amount of physical punishment will help. Setting the right example, spending time with them and taking them to a real church where is not a cult and the True Bible is taught and the 10 Commandments are taught and respected will do all the good you can do. Then if they want to rebel and fight the law, there is little you can do but pray for them, for some will go bad no matter what, but many will come back to God and their teachings after giving their families grief and hobbling themselves with police records. It is just the way the world is influencing the young. It is a sad thing. All this disrespect for others is ruining the young. They hear it, live it and do not understand it, but they are feeding on it and it is killing them eventually.

      very good post. i can tell you something personal.

      i use to live next to an older black lady who was just the sweetest women i have had the pleasure to know. i would check in on her daily doing anything i could to help her no matter how little or big the project. i never asked for a penny, and refused when she offered me money.
      one day while at her house a big kid(not sure his age or relation) came over and the first words out of her mouth was “boy pull up your damn pants and staighten your hat you look like and idiot.” now this kid had over a foot and about 100lbs on her, says “yes mame”. it tickled me to know end, she knew what i was laughing about, but this p!ssed of the kid and he was dumb enough to say why are you letting this white boy(actually the H word, but i cleaned it up hehehe) in your house? boy did she let him have it cussing him out.
      all he could do was hang his head. about two weeks latter there was a knock on my door, one of her sons came over and said thank you for everything you did for my mother i really respect that, and i just wanted to let you know she died last night.
      i was the only white at her funeral, and actually sat with the family. i stood out like a nightlight. there were quite a few whi were not happy that a white man was there, and sitting with the black family. everyone is her family defended me, including the aforementioned kid. the pure shock that a “dreaded” white man would go out of his way for a black person lef the detracto

      left the detractors with open fish mouths lol. th only compensation i ever took from her was when she found out my fondness for sweet potato pie. she brought one over for me, and told me just bring back my pie tin when your through. 2 hours later i was knocking on her door with the clean pie tin(that’s right in under 2 hours i had totally demolished the pie by myself it was that good. LOL).
      my point to this whole story?? if we had more people willing to embrase each other with love and respect and more like this woman not afaraid to put a boot in the younger people’s a$$ this world would be in alot better shape.

    The police abuse their powers on everyone and the their usually right in my opinion in doing so its just the race baiters who whine about it non-stop. It seems as though they beleive they are free to do what ever they want with no return loss of rights. Well to that i say job well done to these officers and i would hope they keep up the hard work to all who deserve it no matter their race or how special they think they are

    I guess only blacks are justified in beating blacks. Or is it okay for the NBP party to beat minorities, but not okay for the police to beat minorities.

    Now, the kids commits the same crime and X wants to give the kid a beating himself. What?
