How Bad Is Detroit? This Shock Vid Shows One Woman Who Tried to Report a Crime Waiting 4 Hrs for Police

Years of waste and mismanagement have left Detroit in shambles. The city is broke, perpetually on the verge of bankruptcy, and unavoidable budget cuts have left the city woefully understaffed.
But how bad has the situation become? It has gotten so bad, that some residents are waiting up to four hours for the police to respond to their calls.
Seriously, up to four hours (and they’re the lucky ones).
My Fox Detroit reporter Charlie LeDuff decided to experiment and see how the situation had become.
“Charlie recently answered a run of the mill home invasion call where he and a woman waited and waited and waited some more on the cops,” the report explains.
While they waited, he had time for a McDonald’s food run:

Posted on July 25, 2012 at 12:04pmThe taking away of guns is a relic of the days gone by when police actually attempted to make you safe. I contend they never could but at least they tried. Now, they just clean the messes up. They wanted to take the guns away because having a public with the ability to do their own security is bad for business and if you can do your own security, you’d be reluctant to pay the onerous taxes required for socialised security. Of course they “said” it was about “security” but it never was. They’re still beating their drums about that every chance they get (Aurora…) but the drumming is falling on deaf ears. Actually, the Aurora shooting was more proof that gun control creates a situation where people are vulnerable. In Aurora the government basically said, “We have police. You CAN NOT DO YOUR OWN SECURITY!” People believed them now people are dead.
I find it hard to imagine that people would call for more gun control when you look around and find that the areas with the highest amount of firearms restrictions are THE MOST DANGEROUS AREAS compared to other areas. The excuse is then, well, just think how much MORE dangerous they’d be if the people could carry weapons. Yeah, right. I‘m not three and you’re not my mommy. Grow up and get a clue.
Socialisation is coming to an end. Like Margaret Thatcher said, “Socialism is great but eventually run run out of other people’s money.” Sorry, socialists, its just not there to steal anymore.

Posted on July 25, 2012 at 11:37amThe problem is this: over the last 50 years Americans have “socialised” certain aspects of their life. Now, understand, this is not necessarily bad until the administration (government) have the people addicted to socialism and it then becomes Big Giverment with a desire to control and regulate your entire life.
What we see in this article is this: Socialised security. …or rather, the failure of same. The economy in that area will not support the socialised security (cops) and its simply falling apart.
The counties in America were originally designed to have a sheriff and a few deputies. Socialisation of security wasn’t necessary because everyone had a shotgun, a rifle and a pistol. Once people moved to the city, those things weren’t deemed necessary. Then, as cities grew, they became necessary but government, in its infinite wisdom, decided it would rather control the people instead, so they put pressure on people to not own those expensive guns and they would take care of the security.
In reality, they never really did all that great of a job, but they did try. Now, as things are c. ontracting, paying for police is becoming much more expensive than taking care of business yourself.
Personally, its fine with me. The last time I called the sheriff to come investigate dogs eating my goats, it took about 3 hours. He looked at the goat, all torn up and the two dogs with bullet holes in them and said, “Well, looks like you have things pretty well in hand.”

Posted on July 25, 2012 at 11:30amDetroit population has been declining for years. It was once over a million, but they still have the same number of city council members as when they had a million. They, now have a deputy mayor (that job was for the president of the city concil) an ombudsman (that job was for the mayor). They are deeply in debt, but their answer is to cut the police. They will not cut pay of the mayor (a rich businessman) or the number of city council members or take away the council’s cars or their staff.

It won’t leave until you flush it out or almost die. We had laws to keep it in check but people wanted this and wanted that without paying for it. Now, we have this mess to clean up. …and clean up we will. There will just be a lot of crying and moaning (and lying and corruption) as we wind it down. But, the good thing is: the smaller government gets, the better it is for the people.

It is a perfect picture of what unions and socialism will do to a region of the population is free to leave should they want to. My parents moved us from Cleveland to CA in 1958, when Cleveland was already shrinking from having been the 6th largest city in the nation. Both cities have gone through a similar evolution where the “social policies” have driven out the productive people leaving only those that sit waiting for their govt check.
In the end, Barry’s Socialism will do this to ALL of us. Those policies are destructive to individual’s independence and personal drive. Already the non-participation rate of adult workers is over 43% with nearly half of everyone collecting some kind of check from the govt. Just where will productivity come from to honor these checks? You can see it in Detroit.

The city is rotted, that much is true, but now it’s spreading into the suburbs. I’m far enough away to still have good schools and walk outside without getting shot. In the neighborhood I was working in there was one house that stuck out like a sore thumb. The lawn was beautiful, the home was well kept, the garbage was picked up in the alley behind the house. The problem with the people of Detroit is that they think that all they need to do is wait and let the government take care of the problem. When I moved into my house there was a vacant lot between my neighbor and myself. The two of us kept the grass mowed and the lot cleaned up. There is a park across the street from my home. The neighbors keep it mowed and cleaned up. If this was Detroit the city would need to do it and they would have rats and junk cars in the park and the lot.

Rampant crime & decling property values forced my family to move 3 times. Unions and liberals have destroyed a once great city now subsidised by the government. It’s a city that has spawned many sterotypes when it comes to minorities, especially blacks. The proof is in the puddin when it comes to the city of Detroit (and lets throw Flint in there as well).
