MILTON, N.H. — “(I’ve seen) garbage here and there but nothing like this that’s for sure,” said Lloyd Ellis, whose brother discovered a shark in the woods of Milton.
“He happened to smell something that didn’t smell right, like a dead animal or something, and he came across it Thursday night,” said EIlis.
The shark was found discarded here on some private property just off of Rural Tenerriffe Road, not far from busy Route 125 and the Spaulding Turnpike.
“I can only think that either someone didn’t have a license, because you have to have a license to fish the ocean, and was going to bring it home and someone said, ‘Hey dude, you need a license or something like that.’
Panicking, they probably said, ‘Well, I guess we’ve got to get rid of the evidence,’” said Ellis.

Posted on August 8, 2011 at 1:42pmbad journalism; you edon’t need a license to fish the ocean. Probably discarded thinking they would mount it, then changed mind after getting home. People in that part of the woods consider taxidermy a hobby.

Posted on August 8, 2011 at 6:57amTake your boat. Go out past the 20 mile limit into international waters. Catch a fish. Cook it. Eat it. Come back with a full stomach and no evidence. If we all do it they won’t make a dime on any salt water license.

Posted on August 8, 2011 at 2:52amI lived near there. Milton is about an hour from the beach. No, you don’t need a license to fish in the ocean. They have fishing cruises out there. They don’t ask for anyone to show a license. You need a license for rivers and lakes, although most kids didn’t bother with it. There’s a lot of rivers out in the woods no one patrols them. Probably because you would have to travel on foot. NH’s woods are very thick. There were so many trees, you could barely see my house from the street when we bought it and the front yard was only about 50 feet – road to house.

Posted on August 8, 2011 at 6:36amHi Shiroi
Report Post »I guess it‘s been a while since you’ve been fishing becauase our good ole government couldn’t leave fishing salt water free. That would just be wrong! You do need a license and it is usually figured into your fees on a fishing charter,
As of January 1, 2011, all persons age 16 and older recreationally fishing in coastal and estuarine waters of the state must purchase a N.H. Saltwater Recreational Fishing License. This includes anglers, spearfishers and persons using other gear types who wish to take, possess, or transport marine finfish for personal use and which are not sold.
Most Coastal states are doing this now. Ahhh more rights gone
