U.S. Official: Bin Laden’s Skull Was Blown Apart

WASHINGTON (AP) — A U.S. official says Osama bin Laden was shot above his left eye, blowing away part of his skull.
The precision kill shot was delivered by a member of Navy’s elite SEAL Team Six during a pre-dawn raid Monday on bin Laden’s hideout in Pakistan.
Photos of bin Laden’s injuries were transmitted to Washington as proof that the mission was a success. The administration wasn’t releasing the photos Monday.
The official spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak to reporters.

I too found myself wondering, “Did OBL’s head go forward as the reactive force (built up by the tumbling bullet inside OBL’s skull) was released by the explosion out the back of OBL’s skull (as the bullet exited)?” Or, “Did OBL go backward from the initial impact of the bullet?”
Conspiracy theorist have tried to say JFK’s head going backward is proof there was a shooter on the grassy knoll in Dealey Plaza, but reactive force would explain his head going backward, although shot from behind by Lee Harvey Oswald. Some scientists say JFK’s head going backward was a physiological reaction to being shot.
Target shooters know that (almost always) a high powered rifle leaves a bigger hole exiting, than entering so OBL’s front should have only a small hole where the .223 bullet entered, unless of course the shooter was carrying a .50 cal.
No doubt, we will have people like those denying 9/11 happened, coming up with all kinds of conspiracy theories about OBL’s death.

I‘m surprised there haven’t been more explicit corrections about the timeline, since it was widely reported at the outset that it occurred a week ago. Mistakes and rumors are pretty common and widespread during major breaking stories.
