How the Heck Did Scott Walker Get Elected Wisconsin Governor?

That’s the million dollar question that must be vexing more than just the hosts at MSNBC.  In the state that gave birth to the Progressive political movement, how did a conservative Republican get elected to the Governor’s office?  Perhaps the answer is hiding in some of campaign ads that featured Scott Walker and his story.  The “Brown Bag Movement” was an eye-catcher:

Plain speaking Scott was a hit and people noticed something different about this candidate.  But did a Republican REALLY give back hundreds of thousands of dollars in salary when he was a County Exec?  Yes he did.

Perhaps the ad that clinched it for Scott Walker was also the commercial that featured President Obama and earned kudos from CNN:

Party isn’t the catch…they need 1 more body for a quorum. It’s just coincidence that the cowardcrats happen to have the exact number needed to mess up the quorum requirement and dis-enfranchise the voters.

Gotta love those high speed trains…huge amount of money so union bosses can kick back to campaigns for the dem that supports them. Massive cost overruns so union bosses can kick back even more to campaigns for the dem that supports them. Unionized operaters so union bosses can kick back to campaigns for the dem that supports them AND use work stopages to show who‘d REALLY in charge if anyone voices a political opinion the Union doesn’t like.

The trains ALWAYS run empty because you can’t get around without a car or cab at the other end.
The trains ALWAYS run empty because if there’s a problem EVERYONE on the train is left late or stranded…so you can’t trust them.
The trains ALWAYS run empty because they can’t take you to pick up the kids, go to soccer practise, and pick up groceries with one.
The trains ALWAYS run empty because you have to run your life according to THEIR schedule, not yours.
The trains ALWAYS run empty because after your car is vandalized/robbed/stolen the second time (they know you won’t be back “till the schedule says you will) You say “never again”.
The trains ALWAYS run empty because evrytime there’s nasty weather the high-speed becomes regular speed..late again.
The trains ALWAYS run empty because if you try to ride during “off peak” hours you get to converse with roving bands of thugs and watch the homeless guy puke in the aisle…before he asks for your “extra change”.

And after all the joys of having a high speed rail system have eaten all available cash in subsidies you still need to use the roads as much as you ever did…but the roads are even worse because there’s no money left for repairs.

I live in Wisconsin as well, and there is no way that he will be recalled, and per the state’s laws he cannot even have a recall initiated until he completes 12 months in office. Once the papers get circulated and the signatures collected, there would have to be a primary (assuming more than one candidate would oppose Walker), and then a minimum 6-week campaigning session before the general election. In other words, Walker cannot possibly be removed for at least 15-18 months. And even if removed, with the Republicans holding both houses in the state legislature, a democratic governor would be stonewalled and have his vetoes overturned. I believe that those of you who are rooting for this to happen are grossly overestimating your chances. If you believe you have power because of the recent demonstrations in Madison, here is some news for you. The union freeloaders are a minority in this state and only appear to have a majority in Madison due to the massive influx of union hacks and thugs being orchestrated by the White House and Obama’s community organizations. Walker won the state by 5 points after leading throughout the entire race very handily. In others words, and to paraphrase a quote from your spineless leader in Washington, “our side won”. The winds of change are blowing and you’d better batten down your hatches or get swept aside as the storm of reform comes ashore by Lake Mendota.

There has to be a way to determine how many of the protestors are from Wisconsin. If the Wisconsin teachers are a minute minority and the vast majority are out-of-town union thugs on the dough to demonstrate, then it should be known. I think Walker will hold his ground, but RINOs are known to fold like cheap suits when compromise to the liberals will suffice any outside presssures.

      Here‘s where you’re wrong:
In the United States of America, we like to drive ourselves,
therefore we need the roads and bridges to be in optimum condition.
We don’t, for the most part, want to ride on mass/public transportation systems.
We like to be in control of where we go, when we go, which route we take,
and whether or not to stop along the way, and if so, where we stop and for what.

What happens to the millions of dollars and jobs for road building and earth moving and iron workers and etc etc. Be very careful what you wish for. If we NEEDED high-speed rail, an private enterprise would have built it already. Leave it to the government (with our money) to invest in losing propositions.

Furthermore, not everyone lives in a large city and would still have to travel to get there, so Yes we do need our roads and bridges repaired.

@KOOLAIDERS – don’t be so sure a palin/bachmann ticket wouldn’t still annihilate an Obama/whoever ticket. There has been no “triangulation to the center”. The American public is keenly aware of how Billy Ho got re-elected. The media has been hoping to present that image and have it stick but to no avail. It’s not going to be remotely the same and the more this country takes large lurches to the left the more people get buyers remorse if they were Obama supporters to begin with. Regular America rejects socialism and its tenets and the other bad models as well. It will be a landslide so long as the Reps don’t run Bernie Madoff… I like the colonel West suggestion someone made upthread. He is ready to mitigate the coming wave of muslim stealth aggression . Christie makes me wonder about him sometimes. If i had my choice at a dream ticket it would be Jindal/Rubio.

I hope Gov. Walker stands by his word.

Seems like a good one. Time will tell.

I hope he won’t cave, and I hope he stays safe, I’d hate to have the unions after me.

This whole thing has really exposed the insanity of the left. I think Obama is done for 2012, if not the whole democratic party.

That does describe it very nice; imagine now we have not only a tea party but a brown bag movement as well; only in America, and loving it.

Whoever came up with the “brown bag” campaign has a real future in Presidential politics!

Wisconsin and other states are like the alcoholic that has run out of money and “hit bottom”. Well, good. Now real “recovery” can begin, though it is sad that too often thats how it has to happen.

I agree with Cheezwhiz, he is awesome, I love to see a man stand on principles and do what he said he would do. I know the left or even us for that matter are not use to politicians doing that, they usually run on one thing and do another, just look at Obama and the hopeyy changeyy thing, Go get um Scott we are all behind you.
