Howard Dean: It‘s Government’s Job to Redistribute Wealth

Redistributing wealth is “what governments do,” former chairman of the Democratic National Committee (DNC) and one-time presidential hopeful Howard Dean told MSNBC‘s Lawrence O’Donnell Monday evening. “The argument is not whether they should redistribute or not, the question is how much we should redistribute,” he added.
Likewise, O’Donnell went after Obama for denying that it was his plan to redistribute wealth and for failing to scold members of the Chamber of Commerce Monday into paying their “fair-er” share of taxes. Without the redistribution of wealth, Dean and O’Donnell agreed, the country wouldn’t have Social Security, Medicare or… paved roads:

But I actually voted for Bush the first time, so I guess even before 9/11, something was niggling inside of me about the D’s. I voted for Bush the second time too. I voted for McCain (too bad HE ran and not someone else who could have beaten Obama, oh well, next time).
But it was their attacks on Sarah Palin that actually pushed me over the edge to register as a Republican. No going back. Not to that party. Not now that i really understand them. What they stand for, what their goals are: un-American.

If you will read my comment, I said, ” those who cannot are helped;” but I did not say it was the government’s responsibility. There are charities, United Fund, churches, food pantries, and so on to help people. The electric companies even have a round-up policy for those who want to give the rest of the part of a dollar of their bill to help others pay their bills who can’t.
Stay dry and hold ‘er in the road, Shuh-gah! And, remember, if you miss your get-off, you needed the driving practice! :-))

That’s sort of what happened to me, except it ws the fact that they would not answer my questions about Obama. No damned wonder–I was working for a newspaper! Wouldn’t that have busted it wide open?!
I emailed the Dem Party and said I did not want a form letter answer, that I wanted a REAL PERSON to email to and receive from. When I questioned him about Obama’s eligibility, I never got one word back from him, not even after repeated attempts. I then figured that Obama didn’t need my vote. All the Dem Party wanted was a contribution, to spread propaganda, and get me to campaign for him.
They didn’t get my campaigning, any slanted newspaper coverage, or my money. And he certainly did not get my vote, particularly after the way they tried to smear Palin. I’d never heard of her and started researching her work as governor. Then I asked myself why she was the VP choice and not the Pres. choice! I’ve been working against Obama ever since — in the grocery stores, C-stores, on the phone, emails, every way I could think of.
My cousin in California told a friend who writes conservatives articles that she was praying for me, while I was a Democrat. Now I’m praying that all non-Progressive Democrats see the light…before it’s too late!

Private property stayed private unless it was really needed by the Government for building the city or harbor etc etc etc… They were to tax for the common defence of the Nation against aggression which incidently the King of England did not have enough the first time around he got his arse handed back to him in 1812 also. So taxes were needed to retire War Debts… And they were really temporary since the Gov’t was keen on over taxation.

This is further modified by the fact that all men are indeed created equal and are endowed by their creator with certain unalienable rights, such that it is also government’s job to secure the rights of every individual citizen (note that the scope of the authority of government is its country).

They are now using SSI fund as a slush fund (well, to be fair, they been doing THAT for years)
The difference is, you can get a tax refund every year, but as a 39 year old, I’ll NEVER see that SSI again…..
