Hoyer Leads Democratic Delegation to Israel, Says Palestinian Authority: Unilateral Moves Delay PeaceIn a pledge of bipartisan support, a delegation of 26 members of the Democratic party, lead by Minority Whip Steny Hoyer, reportedly held a working meeting with Israeli President Shimon Peres and Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu.

During the press conference that followed, Hoyer said the Palestinian Authority’s bid to obtain unilateral recognition for statehood at the UN General Assembly in September, calling the action “a detour” that would “delay a solution [and] not enhance it.”

Israel National News reports that Hoyer said, “the message we received from Mr. Netanyahu was that he is prepared today or tomorrow to go to the negotiating table without any preconditions.”

However, “the message,” Hoyer vows to bring to Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas, is that “consistent with the understandings between the parties historically, that the only way to see progress is through bilateral negotiations between the two of them.”

Hoyer added that two additional delegations from the Republican party, lead by House Majority Leader Eric Cantor, will also visit Israel next week with the same intended purpose. The significance, according to Hoyer, is that the addition of Eric Cantor will bring a “bipartisan message of supportfor Israel and for its security and safety.”

    What do these elected officials think. We have no money and both Democrats and Republicans are off on a tax payers, paid vacation. We should find all of their names and vote every damn one of them out of office because of a total disregard of the way our money (NOT THEIR MONEY) is spent. Throw the bums out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NOW the next group may think about how they spend our money if we throw this bunch out.

    For all of you righteous indignants upset that our tax dollars are going to ferry ANY of these morons around on their endless first class global junkets, one fact you need to know is that all of the expenses for this particular trip to Israel have been paid for PRIVATELY. No tax dollars involved.

    That of course does not address why these clowns are not at home doing the jobs WE pay them to do.

    Israel should regard these Bolshevik democratic party representatives as they would hamas, plo or muslim brotherhood representatives as out to destroy Israel and to treat them as such. Just as our very own anti-American president has stripped Jerusalem, Israel from the WH website.     Why do 52 dopes have to go to Israel on our dime? You want to balance the budget, how about ending all this useless travel????? These folks can’t even handle the basic functions they were elected to do – what do they expect to accomplish with their busy-body visits? Ooohhh, free trip, let’s go. It almost makes as much sense as any Chuck Schumer press conference. BTW, Chuck, how are those Springsteen ticket scalpers doin’?

      This really really irks me that MY TAXPAYER MONEY is going to pay for all their trip. THIS IS NOT THEIR JOB TO GALIVANT abroad at a whim. They should be in Congress working on what we pay them for, not taking a summer break. This country is in deep trouble with the downgrade and stock market and now the Dems are playing sides. Does anyone else see this or am I overreaching?
      It really bothers me that while we are so much in debt in America, the Congress Dems spend money hand over fist, EVEN NOW. I am amazed that Americans don‘t see these things and aren’t screaming at their politicians to stop spending money going overseas. they should be here TAKING CARE OF AMERICA AND AMERICANS – NOT FOREIGNERS.

    Stenny and the gang, flew on over to Al qudz specifically to twist some arms. The Won was unhappy about Israel building in East Jerusalem. By the way- I wonder how much the U.S. was involved with the creton of Israel. This is turning out like a lot of other post WWII “solutions”.

    How much money would we have saved on traveling costs. Probably enough to feed 100 poor families for a month.

    ??? Why are they there? The only thing the U.S. needs to do is stand up for Israel in the United Nations come Sept. when Palestine tries to ‘take away the land from Israel”. Something is not right here..obama TELLING Israel what to do is disgraceful…The U.S. needs to support Israel and then get out of the way and let Israel and Palestine work out their thousand year old problems. BUT with the puppet in the oval office supporting Palestine this get very dangerous. Hoyer said “bipartisan message” yet the Dems and the Republicans are not making the trip together? These elected officials should have been in D.C. telling THE PUPPET to stop instigating war between Palestine and Israel.

      These ‘delegations’ from both parties that are going to Israel to tell her how to manage her own affairs is a joke. It is embarrassing.
      Obama does not understand the American Constitution or our Founders intent regarding sound foreign
      policy. So now he wants to tell Israel what she should do?
      Wonder what he thinks would happen here if a foreign nation came here to the States and told us how to handle our affairs…?
      What would Barry do if all of a sudden the UN security council deemed it necessary to send in foreign troops on our soil to quell an uprising here? Think it can’t happen here?
      Barry tend to your own knittin’. As a president, treat your ALLIES as you would like your country to be treated.
