Hoyer: Uncompromising Tea Partiers Must Come From ‘Unhappy Families’

Many Democratas have blamed unfounded cases of racism for their aversion to the growing tea party movement. But now, the new House Minority Whip, Steny Hoyer, D-Md., presents the latest presumption about tea partiers: they must come from dysfunctional families:

There are a whole lot of people in the Tea Party that I see in these polls who don’t want any compromise. My presumption is they have unhappy families. All of you have been in families: single-parent, two-parents, whatever. Multiple parent and a stepfather. The fact is life is about trying to reach accommodation with one another so we can move forward. That is certainly what democracy is about. So if we are going to move forward compromise is necessary.

But don’t worry, there’s still plenty of unfounded accusations of racism being thrown about.  Take for instance the most recent, from former DNC chairman Howard Dean on Wednesday morning who describes the tea party as the “last gasp” of old, white folks afraid of “change”:

Every morning when they see the president they are reminded that things are totally different than they were when they were born and I think that has a lot to do with it. . . Economic uncertainty fuels this but this is the last gasp of the generation that has trouble with diversity.

Even though tea partiers are allegedly old and sad, I‘m guessing they’re pretty cheerful today as the newly elected Republican House majority convenes a new session of Congress under the leadership of Speaker John Boehner.

So don’t worry, Mr. Hoyer and Mr. Dean; something tells me they’ll be just fine…

      my whole family is part of the ‘tea party” movement.
      We come from a two parent, happy, well educated family line.

      The only unhappy part is seeing our country on this down hill slide and the crap that spews from people like Hoyer, Pelosi and Obama. After this we will be seeig a new obama. His handlers are seeing that things have not worked out so well. He will be more Reagan “ like”…..he will put on a great act, don‘t’ buy it folks. his handlers are biding their time.

    Once we understand that liberalism is indeed a progressive mental disorder ending in complete insanity, what we are seeing unfold starts to make sense. Hoyer and Dean have been mentally challenged for years. The constant attacks will increase in intensity until the loons can be removed from the public scene. One election is not enough. Start working for 2012 so the flushing can continue.

    We put up with enough abuse and uncontrolled spending and rampant liberalism for too long. Steny needs to worry about what happens in 2012 more and comment less about what happened in 2010.

      Unfornatuly here in MD the Dem’s still rule. We had a wonderful candidate in Charles Lollar running against Mukolski and he couldn’t win. This state is as bad as Ca, but I will keep voting and supporting good people like Mr. Lollar even if they are not in my district. We have Van Hollen, Hoyer, and Mukolski – need I say more????

    I am not a Tea Party Member but if they dislike Hoyer,Pelsoi,Reid and Obama they are pretty smart so I may join if given the chance. After what the Democrats have succeeded in doing since 2008 is nothing short of committing suicide. Maye we can pump air back into the system and put it on life support until 2012 and then we can cure her ills.

      All you have to do to join a teaparty is google the teaparty site for your state and you will find the closest one to you. I’m Bowling Green KY. Our rallies are well attended and very peaceful. We helped Rand Paul get into office and we expect him to do exactly what he said in his appearances at our rallies!!!!! If you want to see change in how things are done in D.C. you must get involved…

      Dean & Hoyer, what a couple of jokers. First, most Tea Partiers are at least in the same age group as these two. Secondly, most truly unhappy people come from split families, or raised in getto on welfare and think there is nothing in life but the next welfare check. Looking at the Tea Partiers on TV, I see happy families who didn’t leave garbage behind after events, in contrast to the liberal events and messes they left scattered all over. Yeah! Quite a Contrast when you start comparing.

      That’s it Stenny, I didn’t want to grow up down on the farm raising pigs & chickens, driving an old pickup truck, going to stock car races every weekend and only having outdoor plumbing, but things happen. You’re right, sir, I lived a miserable childhood, grew up and joined the Tea Party to escape my horrid upbringing. (Actually was the daughter of a very successful stockbroker who immigrated from Hungary, served this country, loved this country and raised a daughter who loves this country. His family escaped from the tyranny you are trying to impose on the people of this great country). The old race card, blah, blah, blah has run its course and it’s time to pay the piper.       Accommodation is one thin Mr. Hoyer but you are overly accommodating and that is part of what we see as the problem. I am under 55. Came from a great family. We were extremely happy middle class. I am married to a wonderful woman. Have great kids. Both my wife and I have decent to good jobs. Stop trying to obfuscate the issue. Government has grown too large.

      Oh and by the way Mr. Dean. I don’t see Mr. Obama as a black man. I see him as a man that has no problem taking money from me and spending it irresponsibly.

      demonizing a whole group so that the movement doesnt grow and expand and gain momentum and influence. quite clever and the sad thing is, it will probably be effective unfortunately.

      I tend to agree with Steny. Me and my whole family were very unhappy with the way the Democrats were running the country into the ground, thus we voted them out.
