In a slide show entitled “Glenn Beck’s Restoring Honor Rally: The Most Ridiculous Messages,” the Huffington Post poked fun at rally attendees’ outfits. So who are these “ridiculous” people and what are their messages? The pictures include a man holding a flag and saluting, an elderly woman with a flag scarf singing and holding her hand over her heart, and another man with a picture of Thomas Jefferson poking out of his chest pocket.
UPDATE: Since the original posting of this story, Huffington Post has removed some of the pictures, including the man with the Jefferson picture and the elderly woman with her hand over her heart.

Posted on September 3, 2010 at 12:18pmEvery time I call a lib on the carpet…….I get no response…..hmmm……. How did I wake up one day and had to endure 60′s burnouts and their sheep becoming so smart, inciteful and knowledgable and everything I was taught and embraced my whole life became wrong……gee I wonder what happened…. What is so wrong about being against expansive government, totalitarian vision and a general desire to be free from autocratic style rule ?????????? I think most libs are either government employed, sustained or otherwise………I just cannot deduce anthing else to this point…….

Posted on September 3, 2010 at 12:00pmMMEEKSIE……you identify yourself as a lib……..I would like to be educated by you….what is your belief system consist of ? What is your frame of reference for being liberal ? Why are you even bothering to comment on this site, a site for like-minded conservatives (repulican or not) and people are against expansive government, and power and control. All the liberals I’ve ever spoken to (briefly) think like herded cattle and sheep….. They don’t have a singular unique though on anything…. I just spent 2 hours with a 26 year old liberal attorney (because I had to drive her to an airport) and she just spewed out everything that Obama, Dunn, Huerta, Stern, Chavez and Soros stand for…..she believes people need to be led by government or they will “screw it up” (their own lives)…..it’s the same old story and belief system……..is their drug use involved….certainly, Anita Dunn appears to be on some mind altering drug (as evidenced by her speech a while back to students when her mouth was so dry so as to suggest she was on something to keep her endorphins going)….consider Huerta, embracing Chavez and his cattle / sheep herding facilities down there in Venezuela….she loves the idea….she and her political views / wants / needs / agendas are embraced and employed by the annointed one, President Obama……… I need to understand why all of us like minded stupid americans (en masse) our so misguided……..please enlighten me ……….lol…….

Posted on September 2, 2010 at 6:04amThere is nothing funny about any of the pictures they published. Shame on them. If I can convince one person who thought wearing a 9/11 tshirt was ‘ridiculous’ that its OK to be patriotic then I will be happy.
I grew up in the midwest in the early 80′s and patriotism was still honorable.
One fond memory I have of my father is constructing a large flag pole in our front yard. I would help my father raise the flag every morning and every evening we would lower it and he would carefully fold it and bring her inside. I can remember how proud he was of that.
My father was a democrat and whenever Reagan came on the television Dad would make me turn it off. Every Sunday my Dad and I would go to church. He would try to instill in me that god was watching us and to help those who are less fortunate..
Every weekend we would walk to the cemetery behind our house and he would always put headstones back in the proper place from vandals that would come through. He always made it a point to lead by example, At a very young age he taught me to be responsible for my actions.
When I got a little older my Dad gave me my own flag and we hung it in my bedroom. To me having my own flag in my bedroom was super cool.
Report Post »When I was 8 he as diagnosed with a brain tumor and died about 3 months later.. That was 1987 and at times it seems like just yesterday. I have grown up and moved away from the Midwest. I have a son of my own now.
Sometimes when I am misguided I think of my Dad and wish he was alive to tell me everything is going to be OK. I forgot the basic principals he tried to instill in me and It is easy to get distracted and take the wrong path. After listening to Mr. Beck, Sarah Palin and Alveda King’s message I remembered those magical moments I spent with my Dad 24 years ago. Now I finally realize what my Dad was doing for me. He was building character. It doesn’t matter what political party you subscribe to, It doesn’t matter what church you attend.or what god you pray to. As long as you have faith in god, country, and accept accountability for your actions, you and your children will live happy lives. I just wish I could thank my Dad and for what he did, and tell him to please not be upset that I like Ronald Reagan

Posted on September 4, 2010 at 6:20pmThank you for your story. How blessed you were for the time you had with your Dad. He taught you strong lessons of character and patriotism. Brought tears to my eyes (I tend to cry a lot more lately. : )

Report Post »Thank you for the posting. I lost my father on fathers day suddenly. Your posting reminded me of how he would always demand we do our best, win, lose, or draw. Just give it your best no matter what the task. He always said that he would always be proud if we always just did our best.
Don’t tell my dad that I like Reagan too.

Posted on September 1, 2010 at 11:14pmthe most Ridiculous (being sarcastic) thing I saw was at Springfield Metro Station. The station could of had 1000 people in it.
Everyones patients were being tried around 7am that morning. The blue line had a track that was under maintenance. We were riding on one train from Springfield to King Street station (I arrive at King Street around 9am) then transferring to another train on the opposite track to DC.
In this video you will see hundreds of people around me. Keep in mind this train stations ticket machines aren’t in view, the passenger ramps to the train isn’t in view, nor the hundreds of people at the charter bus stop or that were in the parking lot. It was really ridiculous to see this many people, in such a small area; getting along, despite the temperature, the casual bumping, sweating, and lack of air flow. It was amazing to see this turnout just in the station alone at 7:00am.

I thought that it was offensive to say that… but thinking about it more, I guess that it’s just sad. They don’t have love in their hearts for people that are somewhat different than they are.
