A human cannonball has died after his safety net failed to launch during a stunt in UK’s Kent County. The man was performing in a daredevil show.
Sky News reports:
The accident happened during a show put on by Scott May’s Daredevil Stunt Show at the Kent County Showground in Detling at about 3.30pm on Monday.
The 23-year-old man was flown by air ambulance to Maidstone Hospital, but later died from his injuries.
A Kent Police spokesman said: “A man taking part in a human cannonball event this afternoon has died after it is believed a safety net failed to engage.”.
Needless to say, all further Scott May daredevil shows have been canceled. The Scott May website announced:
DUE TO UNFORSEEN CIRCUMSTANCES
THE SHOWS ARE CANCELLED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE

Report Post »i get the whole thrillseeker/adrenaline junkie thing.i raced motorcycles for 15yrs and have been riding since i was 9.when one decides to engage in dangerous activities, common sense dictates that you counter risk factors with safety measures.plainly spoken, one would take all available safety measures.
i guess this is a sad example of “flying without a net”.
