‘Human Feet in Shoes’: Grisly Debris from Japan Floating Toward U.S. West Coast

The Daily Mail reports:

A vast field of debris, swept out to sea following the Japan earthquake and tsunami, is floating towards the U.S. West Coast, it has emerged.

Human Feet in Shoes: Grisly Debris from Japan Floating Toward U.S. West Coast

More than 200,000 buildings were washed out by the enormous waves that followed the 9.0 quake on March 11.

There have been reports of cars, tractor-trailers, capsized ships and even whole houses bobbing around in open water.

Human Feet in Shoes: Grisly Debris from Japan Floating Toward U.S. West Coast

But even more grisly are the predictions of U.S. oceanographer Curtis Ebbesmeyer, who is expecting human feet, still in their shoes, to wash up on the West Coast within three years.

‘I’m expecting parts of houses, whole boats and feet in sneakers to wash up,’ Mr Ebbesmeyer, a Seattle oceanographer who has spent decades tracking flotsam, told MailOnline.

Several thousand bodies were washed out to sea following the disaster and while most of the limbs will come apart and break down in the water, feet encased in shoes will float, Mr Ebbesmeyer said.

Expect the unexpected, he concluded.

Feet in sneakers…..more likely that should have read “bones of feet in sneakers”. Anything that last more then a day or two in the open ocean that can be consumed will be in short order. Also, much of what they claim will wash up on west coast beaches is projected because they don’t know that a lot of it will break up and sink in a matter of a months or less. Whole houses…come on. Common sense people.

Its not the last for many generations or the worst we will ever see, things are coming that will make this soon forgotten. The Tsunami in 2004 looks small in comparision now doesn’t it? You could have easily said the same about it being the worst we would ever see, but see some more we have…and will continue. Birth pangs have set in and they are closer together. We will have a large meteror or asteriod strike this planet some day and that will make this look like a______________?

Oh not to sound argumentative, but the tsunami in 2004 Indonesia WAS larger, and their was more death from it. Most likely since the earthquake was the largest ever recorded at 10.0

Shoot, I don’t drive a truck and i could have told you that! Even if it did manage to float for a few hours, after months there is no way a big enough air pocket would remain.

Off topic, did you know that monster trucks floated! There is enough buoyancy in their huge tires! Saw a clip of Bigfoot steaming down a river, it was awesome! The tires also act as paddles.

    Two things;

First regarding the tabloid-like headlines. This is what inevitably happens when you hire the editor of the Huffington Post to come over and start paying them to supervise your website content.

Secondly, I have a quick question. If the people on the US west coast can salvage all the stuff in the floating debris and make use of it somehow (sell it, keep it, trade it, whatever), can the shady accountants in the Obama Administration add those totals to the GDP to show that the economy is indeed improving?

Yes, limbs will become separated from their bodies, but marine animals will consume anything that is consumable long before shoes begin to wash ashore. The tragedy in Japan is bad enough. There’s no need for media hype from so-called “scientific experts” to make it even more grizzly just to increase their ratings. The best way to help Japan, other than actually going over there and doing some of the heavy lifting, would be to buy a new Honda or Nissan. A new 370-Z would look great in my garage!

“If the Blaze is going to be a supermarket rag, I’m outta here.”

The question is why are you STILL here then? The Blaze is a supermarket rag. A fine balance of trivial non-stories mixed with a generous helping of articles designed to infuriate the far right leaning Joe Sixpack with an occasional fun clip of a ghetto inspired Denny’s or Ihop girl on girl slapmatch ala Jerry Springer; “Ho!“ ”You da ho!“ ”my baby daddy will jackslap you, beotch…”

Of course the one thing these articles have in common are the blown up, neon-lighted, attention grabbing headlines. That is what the Blaze staff is paid for after all…And…It is very effective because there is nothing more numerous than reading the comments made because of a particularly infuriating headline and seeing it is totally obvious that the poster did not even read the article because the headline was totally misleading.

Of course I expect some negative feedback from my Blazebashing, and that is cool. Let’er rip folks. But I am seriously not trolling here, I am a good conservative, there are many folks here who will vouch for me. I mean no disrespect to Beck or the Blaze, I am merely acknowledging what it is. If the staff here even bother to read the comments made then maybe they can take it as literary criticism. I am here because I legitimately enjoy the site. This is one of the places I go for “pleasure reading.” I enjoy the articles and I like to comment on things here. I like the people this site attracts. Even the trolls, whom I love and cherish as wayward brothers and sisters…I am talking to you encinom! But let’s call a spade a spade. This is NOT a serious news site. If Beck envisioned it as such then he failed.

So it is misleading then! There are no feet in shoes. Go read the bigger article that is linked in this one, no one has seen or picked up any feet floating in shoes. It is speculation.

Now, that said, I am sure there are feet floating in shoes out in the pacific. At least until the flesh rots away, and I suppose if even a single foot bone is found in the shoe it *could* be considered a foot. There is precedence for this as shoes with feet have washed up in many places.

But the point we are trying to make is the headline is sensationalized to draw in the reader. To an extent all headlines do this, but supermarket tabloids have made this an art. In this case The Blaze did not make up the headline, it just adapted it from the story on the wire. Even so, there are no human feet. It is simply conjecture.

There will be an earthquake tax. This amount to be determined by the magnitude. Then the psunami tax. Also determined by severity. Then the detatched body parts tax. To be determined by which parts are detatched. Then, of course, the aftermath tax to be determined by the amount of debris. There will need to be at least 100,000 new gov employees to clean up the dying ocean and collect these new taxes.Last but not least, a spectator tax. To be determined by the number of people that see the debris floating in the dying ocean. After all, it was climate change that caused this earthquake. We should all be ashamed of ourselves!
