Hundreds of Occupy D.C. Protesters Block Conservatives From Leaving Summit

Hundreds of Occupy D.C. protesters descended on the city’s convention center Friday night, blocking the streets around where a conservative group was gathered for an annual summit.
Demonstrators staged a “sit in” around the convention center for several hours and barred individuals inside from leaving the area, the Washington Post reported.
Three protesters were struck by a car, authorities told the Post. They were transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
“The protesters were apparently trying to block the roadway,” D.C. police Lt. Christopher Micciche told the Associated Press. “It was essentially an accident where three individuals were injured but they were in violation by being in the roadway.”
Micciche said the car’s driver was not cited because he had a green light when his vehicle struck the protesters, who “either ran toward or jumped in front of the moving vehicle.” He said one pedestrian jumped on the hood of the car. One of them was cited for being in the roadway.
Protesters surrounded the driver’s car and shouted “Shame!” before he left, D.C.’s local Fox affiliate reported.
Occupy D.C. posted on its Twitter account that several protesters were arrested, though police told media outlets there had been no arrests.
Videos posted to YouTube and Twitter show large crowds massed in front of the convention center, chanting and shouting where the Americans for Prosperity “Defending the American Dream” summit was taking place. Americans for Prosperity is funded in part by Charles and David Koch, the brothers who run Koch Industries — apparently part of the reason protesters targeted the event.
Several protesters told the Post their main goal was to prevent conservatives from leaving the site.
According to one video posted on YouTube, a woman in a wheelchair was blocked from exiting the convention center by a group of protesters crowding outside one of the doors. They pressed signs reading “Government for the people” and “I am a human being” against the glass and chanted “This is what democracy looks like!”
Another video posted by the Media Research Council showed a group of protesters fighting with convention center security guards and placing two children in the center of the scuffle. There is a lot of yelling and the children can be heard crying. Content warning — strong language.
Stephen Gutowski gave this eyewitness account of the brawl on The College Politico:
At the start of the scuffle the protesters had been able to get inside the convention center and set up a makeshift barrier. This barrier consisted of what appeared to be several large wood trash cans from the center, a large metal recycling bin from the center, the two small children sitting in their wagon, and several occupiers either sitting on the floor or standing up.
The security guards, which may have been assisted by police officers (I’m not sure), then began moving the trash cans and forcing back the protesters. At first only about 5 or 6 protesters resisted the security guards while the rest filmed everything but as they forcibly pushed the protesters and the children’s wagon out of the doorway other protesters became incensed. At that point several other occupiers began screaming and pushing back against the security guards.
The children were extremely upset and crying by this point.

The movement is clearly and rapidly becoming a movement to replace capitalism and the western way of life with socialism/communism….and with a one world/globalist free for all. And now includes UN environmental NWO references.
What the protestors do not realize is that there is nowhere to run, nowhere to hide. Even with a Socia-Communistic society the ‘Elites’ will still be in charge but even more so.
The protestors are trying to give a select few of wealthy individuals ( Rockefeller, Soros, Rothchilds and others) exactly what they want, ultimate power and control with suppression of all dissent there

If in a car, just put it in gear, lay on the horn, and very slowly proceed forward. If they don’t get out of the way, just keep going. What are a few speed bumps.
I have had it with these people who think your rights stop when they say they do. I lost a very good job a few years ago when protesters went out of their permit limits and stopped all traffic on I-5 for two hours. The police stopped the traffic. I did request of the police that they arrest them, but they wouldn’t because they had the right to protest. I requested that they please allow me my civil rights to get to a job interview, but he just requested my car keys. I got his name and badge number and reported him to his supervisor, but nothing was done. When I attempted to file suit against the police, the judge threw it out stating that the police was protecting citizens exercising their civil rights. I then filed suit against the organizating group and its supporters, but the judge again threw it out saying I didn’t have standing because I was not guarenteed the job. Maybe next time I will bring my .45s and see if I can take my civil rights back!

My oh my. YOU are an ex-DA? Now I know WHY you are EX. While I agree and understand WHY these people are protesting, I think they are very confused. I am all for the freedom to protest. But, the real reason has been distorted. And, the Tea Party has nothing to do with it. I am surprised you said what you said as an EX-DA. I know for sure that a REAL EX-DA would not have said that.
It is the CEOs that layoff thousands and then get millions in bonuses for doing so that I have a problem with.
It is the upper management and Union heads that rake in millions from bailouts, which is the people’s money – NOT GOVERNMENT’S, that I have a problem with.
And these protestors lump them all in one group called CAPITALISM, which is like saying that one bad white man makes all white men bad. SIMPLY ABSURD.
Capitalism has been the financial economic choice since the early Biblical times and up to now. IT IS THE ONLY REASONABLE SUCCESSFUL BUSINESS MAP TO FOLLOW. However, if companies would stop REWARDING BAD BEHAVIOR AND POLICIES, Capitalism would continue to be the best choice.
So, Mr. Ex-DA or Mrs. Ex-Da, whoever you are, STOP LYING TO YOURSELF AND TO US by making us sound like you know more than us, the Tea Party and anyone else just because you are an Attorney, which I will bet $1000 that you are not, and start telling the TRUTH. If everyone did that, we’d have a whole lot more character and success in this country!

It is not a Constitutional Republic, which is governed by ‘elected’ representatives and, yes, we have experienced problems with that, too, but…… it is not the fault of the founding fathers. They were worried about little things like, well, government becoming too powerful or, one of the 3 branches having too much power. A good example is this fact: we have heard our ‘president’ recently saying he will do what he wants without the Congress?
Our ‘elections’ could ,at least, be said to be Democratic, as they are a plurality but, not exactly. There is the Electoral College, which elects the President.

A percentage of Democrats do support the protesters. However, you and I both know that this event was starting to be organized as early as Dec. of 2010 after the elections and the beating the Democrats took in the House. They started through various web-sites supported by George Soros and Radicals from the sixties that are now in some sort of leadership position with a union, college’s, organization’s, special interest group’s and even some corporations. They all support a Progressive Socialist Society, President Obama and they want to overthrow the Republic for a more European style government and establish a NEW WORLD ORDER. Even though the protesters are in about 90 U.S. Cities the groups are fairly small, most don’t even know the truth behind why their being paid to occupy. When anyone starts to talk to the press that is not part of the organizing group, the group steps in to shut them up. They are controlling the puppets, what a way to live. Over the next year we will see how this all plays out, their Leaders will be exposed and the truth will be revealed. The main stream media still thinks it’s a grass roots movement, l.o.l.
