Huntsman Tells CBS That Early Polls Are ‘Absolute Nonsense’

Former Utah Governor Jon Huntsman thinks the next president will be a former governor and that the 2012 GOP presidential primary polls, all of which have Huntsman in the basement, are “absolute nonsense.”

Appearing on CBS’ “Face the Nation,” Gov. Huntsman said that he will continue to campaign on his record no matter what the polls suggest.

“Let me just say, everybody kind of gets a label slapped on their forehead – which I think is unfortunate. All you have to do is look up at my record. My record is what it is,’he said. ‘I’m running proudly on my record. I am who I am – as a politician and as a human being.”

Gov. Huntsman’s recently released jobs plan calls for major tax reform and improvements to free trade. Entitled  ”Time to Compete,” the plan fuses ideas from the Paul Ryan plan and the bipartisan Simpson-Bowles Commission.

“So I’m calling for that which is bold. I know it‘s going to be politically controversial but I think it is absolutely needed at this point in our nation’s history. Clearing out the cobwebs, clearing out the deductions, the corporate welfare, the subsidies, buying down the rate. And when I hear people saying you can take it down to zero, all I’m saying is you have to be real about the math here.”

Texas Gov. Rick Perry and former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney are still the current GOP front-runners. Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin has not said whether she will run, but media attention has still hovered around her as she spoke in Iowa this weekend.

Prior to taking the stage for her much anticipated speech, a Palin fan made a comment about liberal ideology, that some have found to be insensitive. CNN on the comments made by Los Angles-based comedian Eric Golub before Gov. Palin spoke in Indianola, Iowa:

“After commending Palin on raising her son Trig while balancing other responsibilities, Golub made the analogy.

‘For that reason alone, the left should worship Sarah Palin and adopt her as one of their own,’ Golub said. ‘Because the leftist haters are an entire political ideology of special needs children.’

Golub continued by saying that liberals are needy and feel entitled.

‘And unlike Trig, they aren’t very lovable,’ Golub said. ‘All you hear from them is give me, give me, I need, I need, I want, I deserve, I’m entitled – no you don’t’.”

Since coming on to the national scene Gov. Palin has been quick to criticize Rahm Emanuel to Family Guy in regards to insensitive comments made about those with special needs. Gov. Palin‘s team is yet to comment on the comedian’s remarks.

No chance John, soory thanks for playing… We are going to need someone very committed to conservative principles to save this Nation. Someone who is willing to fight like a GIRL!

“I am who I am – as a politician and as a human being.”
Notice how he put “politician” ahead of “human being”?
And no where in there did he say “conservative”.

The problem with his tax plan is it does nothing to stop class warfare. We will simply return to what we had in the 90′s after 1 election.
It appears his talk of “free trade” is more of the same garbage that got us where we are today. It should be Fair Trade, not Free Trade.
If we would implement the FairTax everything hitting our shores would have to go up 23% (-tariffs changes) while domestic goods would stay the same (at the retail level). No more hanky panky with tariffs, no more manipulating the stock market through trade, no more hemorrhaging jobs, and a lot less influence from lobbyist.

He‘s right I wouldn’t put much stock in polls in general Palin would be by far the best person to run this Country and turn it in the right direction People say she is un-electable over and over and over I started falling for that B.S. started saying yeah Perry looks pretty good (and he does) but he has some major policy issue…but I was willing to settle and put my support behind him…but when elected I think he will kinda step in line with the powers to be……As for Palin she is a fighter (for what is right for this country) and I don’t think for one minute she would align herself with the powers to be she will fight them and everything that is wrong or went wrong with this great Nation ..the same way she fought Exxon and her own Republican Party Cronies….Run Palin Run Drill baby Drill …..Choose Sarah Palin don’t give into the media and the ruling elite stay with Palin she Can WIN!!!

You never know with Glenn. Glenn supposedly supports the Tea Party Glenn loves Jim Rogers:
Yet Jim Rogers throws his support behind Ron Paul for president
      http://www.examiner.com/finance-examiner-in-national/billionaire-investor-jim-rogers-throws-his-support-behind-ron-paul

Glenn says he’s a strict constitutionalist, but his actions speak otherwise. I think Glenn has twisted “too much religion” into the Founding Father’s ideas. The Constitution was set up so that America would live in liberty no matter if a religious person was president–or not. It’s gotten to the point that presidential candidates have to hold prayer rallies to get Christian votes. If we just followed the Constitution, no one would be separated by their different faiths. The Constitution defines life and liberty for all (anti-abortion, etc). The Constitution should UNITE us where religion often divides us.

I think that’s why Ron Paul is the only presidential candidate that boasts a favorable public opinion

I have a theory as to why horrible candidates like McCain and Bush get the nomination.

The GOP has LOST what it stands for so the majority of REAL CONSERVATIVES (as in follow the Constitution types) LEFT and become Independents or Libertarians or joined the Constutition Party.

Since a LOT of the true conservatives left the GOP, they canNOT vote in the Republican Primary. Who is still registered to vote in the GOP – RINO voters who vote for a weak RINO candidate.

Yet, INDEPENDENT conservatives and conservatives in other parties KNOW their candidate cannot win so they end up voting in the GENERAL election for the horrible RINO the GOP elected.

I RE-JOINED the GOP last year so I WILL VOTE in the Republican Primary. Hopefully, others who left will understand they give up their GOP candidate CHOICE if they let the RINOS in the party pick another RINO.
