‘Hypocrites’: Sharpton Blasts Black Pastors Who Won’t Support Obama Over His Gay Marriage Stance

It‘s no secret that many Christian pastors have taken a stand against President Barack Obama’s proclamation of support for same-sex marriage. African American faith leaders, in particular, have struggled to rectify their Biblical views with Obama’s endorsement of same-sex unions. As the president does damage control among faith leaders of all stripes, it seems the Rev. Al Sharpton is an ally.

Rev. Al Sharpton Slams Black Pastors Over Gay Marriage Voting Stance | Obama

On Wednesday, the controversial pastor took to the radio to slam black faith leaders who don’t plan to vote for Obama in November as a result of his newfound stance. While Sharpton said that he understands disagreement with the president’s position on the issue, he finds faith leaders’ claims that they cannot vote for Obama as a result of it hypocritical.

(Related: Obama Does Damage Control Among Christian Pastors Following Gay Marriage Endorsement)

“When I hear them say they’re not going to vote because we prayed with him — I saw black ministers — the same ones you naming — get around and lay hands and pray for Bill Clinton when Bill Clinton, we know, committed a sin,” Sharpton proclaimed. “And we still voted for him and prayed for him. So what is the difference in this man taking a position and an opinion — not committing the act — just saying, ‘I’m alright with the legal right for people to do this.’”

Rev. Al Sharpton Slams Black Pastors Over Gay Marriage Voting Stance | Obama

Sharpton continued, claiming that the same pastors who met with Clinton and continued to support him throughout his very public ordeal, are hypocrites when it comes to Obama.

“They had prayer meetings for Bill Clinton,” Sharpton said. “Got on their knees, slobbered and rolled up down the floor to keep him in office when they were trying to impeach him.”

SIMPLY PUT: GOD had better be first in the lives of these Pastors who have undertaken the task to preach His word. IF they replace GOD with Obama, they know the consequences. For this dolt Sharpton to be Obama’s bulldog is pathetic. Shows he’s already sold his soul.

THIS is the beginning of the final fight between GOOD v. Evil. GOOD wins.

I have to agree. These “pastors” have already give their support to him when he is “pro-choice”. There is no greater evil than killing the innocent. Those innocents didn’t even get a chance to decide whether they would become gay or not. But this is going to be a sticking point for them? I don’t get it at all. It is clear for anyone to see in their Bible that killing of babies in the womb is murder, that is if they care to look. I can see a good pastor talking to Obama to counsel him but not to vote for him. He pushes his sin and other people’s sin on all of us. He voted against giving medical attention to babies that survived an abortion. He is evil.

      Sharpton is intellectually shallow.

Bill Clinton’s sin was a personal one where he failed as a man. He did not advocate his sin, he committed the sin.

Obama advocates the sin, but did not commit it (so far as we know). Obama advocates that which is sinful.

Big difference, but too much for Sharpton, the bigot, to see.

I pray for those that stand for God and do not submit to man. Eternity is forever the choice is yours if you do not stand for God you stand againstt God.

Exactly, I couldn’t agree more. Aside from Barack Obama, I don‘t know anyone that’s a bigger hypocrite than Al Sharpton. I always use this simple rule. Whatever side of an issue he’s on, I take the other view. I find that it works out very nicely.

“There is a class of colored people who make a business of keeping the troubles, the wrongs, and the hardships of the ***** race before the public. Some of these people do not want the ***** to lose his grievances, because they do not want to lose their jobs. There is a certain class of race-problem solvers who don’t want the patient to get well.”

From what I read in postings, it seems that many Protestants believe that a sinner on the very edge of death repents, he gets into heaven. To think that Sharpton could get this “get out of jail” card brings out the Catholic in me.

Purgatory. This Catholic doctrine is for Purgatory is for the purification of souls who are not sufficiently free of sin but are not so sinful that they should go to hell immediately.

Personally, I figure he is hell bound. He is lucky that God decides.

We already know what he looks like, problem is, we have fools among us that think his word has more weight than those of opposite skin color. Which in my opinion is the very definition of perpetual ignorance. We have fools amongst us all whose thoughts are so shallow, that they think anyone who would oppose this clown, is doing so because “he’s black”. They don’t even stop to consider the fact that just 3-4 years prior to Obama becoming president, they were condemning Bush for everything they’re currently praising Obama for now. Gas went up 75-80 cents under Bush and they darn near buried him in hatred. Gas goes up $2 under Obama, and they say he’s saving lives by keeping people from driving. Where’s the logic?

When speaking of Liberals, that word never exists.
