I Haven’t Been This Angry in a Long Time: Beck Reacts to SCOTUS Decision on Obamacare

In a stunning move, The U.S. Supreme Court Thursday delivered President Obama a game-changing victory by upholding the Affordable Care Act, “affectionately” dubbed “Obamacare.” The ruling reinforces Obama’s attempt to secure “affordable” health care to some 45 million Americans and its individual mandate on which the entire bill hinged, was upheld as a “tax.” Despite the myriad experts who deemed the bill unconstitutional, somehow it passed 4-5 in the court, with conservative Chief Justice John Roberts unbelievably swinging the decision in the president’s favor. The reasons behind this apparent breach remain unclear.
(Related: After SCOTUS Decision, Beck Urges Everyone to Attend FreePAC in Dallas This July)
The news delivers a staggering blow to business owners across the country, who will not be able to afford the insurance requirements for its employees under the bill. Needless to say, the news went over like a lead balloon with Glenn Beck and his radio co-hosts Pat and Stu — so much so that they nearly violated FCC language requirements.
Beck, impassioned like never before, urged listeners to go to GlennBeck.com to make sure they are registered to vote. He also asked that each person go through their Rolodex of contacts and ensure their friends, family and peers are also registered. “If we do not repeal this I don’t know how to do business anymore,” Beck warned.
When Beck and his team found out that it was in fact Roberts’ decision that pushed the bill through, they were visibly and audibly stunned. Beck surmised that the reason for Roberts’ decision likely hinges on the pervasive nature of progressivism.
“Progressivism is a disease and it is in both parties” Beck said.
“Progressives are fascists.”
Beck, looking on the one positive he feels to have come from this decision, said that the “Lord works in mysterious ways.”
“I will tell you this: I am a better American today because of Barack Obama. Hear it loud, hear it clearly. I am a better American today because of Barack Obama. I know what my country has done, both good and bad. I have a deep appreciation for what this country is and what the American people are capable of. This is not a setback. This is a challenge and believe me, the American people are up to the challenge, just as we were with the Dred Scott decision. We are up to this challenge.”
Beck, unrelenting, made one more impassioned plea with listeners to go to GlennBeck.com and make sure they are registered to vote. 14% of Americans are not registered to vote, and in this election, the margin cannot be close.
Beck also said that Mitt Romney would need to come out “swinging” with a statement on the SCOTUS decision to show leadership, which he did in fact do at just before 12:00 noon E.T.

The GOP will run on repealing it but wont do it actually. And here’s how I know for a fact they wont. They voted yes on the National Defense Authorization Act, which grants the US Military the power to arrest & detain US citizens indefinitely without due process & without a trial. The last time a law was repealed by Congress, was over 80 years ago.

However, I’m so angry now I can barely control myself.. I will certainly be voting for Romney now.. He can invade the entire middle east Russia and China for all I care but I won’t this Heath care bill struck down!
It’s one of the most offensive unconstitutional bills ever produced and the Democrats know it… They are gladly rubbing our faces in it…
A liberal approaching me at this moment would get hurt.. It’s that simple.. I can‘t stand them and won’t no part of them from this point forward…

Report Post »The democrats and Obama pushed this as not a tax on the American people. On the other hand, Obama’s lawyers before the SCOTUS pushed it as a tax. What Roberts did was play along with the duplicitious nature of Obama’s ploy, and now a nation pays for this. In Roberts’ brief he makes sure to state that the “wisdom” of the tax isnt’ being commented on, simply that congress has the right to tax you and me as it sees fit. So what Roberts did was say that “ok..you can’t use the commerce clause for this you must call it a tax”. The inherent underhandedness of the mandate was just sold to us by Roberts. The contempt for the American people by Obama, Pelosi and Reid was made apparent today…”don‘t tell them it’s a tax till after its‘ passed and the court says it’s a tax”.
But this law remains unpopular and Romney has been handed a weapon with which to bludgeon Obama for the next five months. Obama has now raised taxes on everyone under $250K and he can’t mince words about it, it must be called a tax and Obama‘s own words denying it’s a tax can now be used against him. Watch Obama’s numnbers tumble after this. I have a feeling most people were waiting on the SCOTUS to declare this mandate unconstitutional and now their only option is to vote Romney in to repeal it as the only way to get rid of it. My gut tells me this is a blessing in disguise.

Posted on June 28, 2012 at 12:59pm@AvengerK, I keep saying this over and over. IT DOESN’T MATTER. The court just ruled you are a subject of the federal government. They vacated the 10th amdendment with this ruling. You’re screwed. Romney isn’t going to replace this.. They’ll tweak it and massage it, but they’ll never willingly restore our liberty and freedoms. You need an amendment to the consitution. You’re not getting that either. Romney will just be a more benevolent dictator than Obama, but a dictator none the less. With the polls going the way they are, he’s also likely to lose anyway.
Report Post »AvengerK
Posted on June 28, 2012 at 1:07pmCAVALLO..the first step is the removal of Obama and his gaggle of marxists, corruptocrats and incompetents from the white house.
Report Post »I have a suspicion the tea parties were quiet until now because they believed the SCOTUS would strike down the heart of Obamacare. What Roberts did was play semantics with the constitution..”you can’t put it under the commerce clause..THAT’s unconstitutional…so make it a tax” and it survives. Now Obama has to explain the biggest tax increase in the nation’s history to a battered electorate. He can’t say “per se” anymore. He can‘t deny it’s a tax anymore, he MUST call it a tax. This decision by Roberts will galvanise the conservatives and independents against Obama. There were relying on the SCOTUS to defeat Obamacare, now the only option is to get rid of Obama. Romney just got handed the election.

I firmly believe that many were counting on the SCOTUS to strike down the law, now they see their only option to get rid of Obamacare is voting for Romney.
Obama will now have to admit he‘s created the biggest tax hike in the nation’s history while telling the nation constantly that he wouldn’t raise taxes on anyone earning less than $250K by “one dime”. So now anyone who was exempt from paying federal taxes has to pay Obamacare taxif they don‘t comply with Obama’s edict. Compound this with the messy Medicaid decision Roberts also announced and Obama’s been handed a great big fecesbomb.

The court also upheld the federal government’s ability to expand Medicaid coverage, but said the government could not withdraw existing Medicaid funding from states that opt out of the expansion. The finding was unexpected—every lower court that has ruled on the issue has upheld the constitutionality of the Medicaid expansion. And it raises immediate questions as to how effectively the federal government will be able to implement a provision that is central to the law’s goal of substantially reducing the share of uninsured Americans.

I’m voting for Gary Johnson because he closely matches the policies, beliefs, and attributes that I want in a POTUS.
Continuing this two party charade is the problem. People that say if you don‘t vote for the republican progressive then you’re going to get a democrat progressive are the problem. If more people were informed and reasonable we wouldn’t have Obama or Romney on the stupid ticket to begin with. I’m not going to validate that lunacy by voting for the tool they put up there.

Posted on June 28, 2012 at 7:20pmYou know, I don’t think that this victory for Obamacare is such a bad thing.
After reading news stories and lots (and lots) of posts on this, I think that it will be to the benefit of conservatives.
Here’s why:
1. Romney, who has been accused of beng a RINO, has now clearly and unequivocally stated that he will repeal Obamacare. Over the remaining months he will get to repeat this message for free as part of the news.
2. Some 60% of Amricans oppose Obamacare, and, as the economy is the number one political issue, that is telling. I would expect a significant defection of democrats because of this.
3. Mr Obama (and others) have repeatedly and emphatically said that the penatly imposed is NOT a tax. The SCOTUS has said the reason that they did not strike it down is because Mr Obama’s lawyers said that it IS a tax. Mr Obama’s own lawyers have admitted the lie, and further damaged the president’s credibility.
Doubtless the champagne corks are popping in the White House, but they are celebrating too soon. I think that their election chances would have been improved if they had lost this case and it was off the table, and they could blame the republican’s mendacity for people being disadvantaged..
It seems to me that they have won a battle that will cause them to them to lose the war

Posted on June 28, 2012 at 7:36pmI read an article, either through the Drudge Report or the Daily Caller, about how Chief Justice Roberts just outfoxed Barack Obama and the Democrats…
By calling this individual mandate a tax, this will fire up the Republican base more than ever and guarantee a win for Mitt Romney. Then on Day One, Mitt can sign an executive order delaying further implementation of this health care monstrosity until the senate votes. Since this is now a tax, the senate would only need 51 votes rather than 60 to repeal this whole law in full.
Yes… This is a black cloud with a silver lining. Obama may have won this battle, but it is a short-term victory; as come November, We the People will win the war!
Remember… This is no longer “ObamaCare” but “ObamaTax,” and I believe that the majority of the American people simply won’t stand for this humongous tax and the corrupt way it was shoved down our throats.
Only four more months to go… Our time will come.

Their only goal is to bash Glenn for not supporting their cult leader, and to help the commies plunge their sword through the heart of our dying Republic. Please don’t argue with them. It’s futile.
AVENGERK, your analysis about Obama’s original intent to make OCARE a tax is spot on, but here’s what most of you are missing: Roberts did not do this of his own free will. He either got a fatwa-style death threat on his family or someone in his family (not him, or it would’ve come out during his confirmation hearings) has a skeleton in his closet that meant prison time. Obama had thousands of lawyers researching Roberts’ family. But understand this: commies and Muslims target your children and grandchildren, and Obama is both a Muslim and a commie. It’s his MO. Don’t blame Roberts. Obama is laughing his evil head off right now.
Now to my graphic analogy of what happened today: Remember the Petit family murder case in NJ? The mom and her two daughters were carjacked, taken back to their home. The dad was neutralized, and the mom was told to go to the bank for money. She advised the teller of their plight, but said she trusted that they would be safe if she met the two criminals’ demands. Think of how we got O’CARE in the first place. Didn’t Barack twist arms left and right? So why is it too far-fetched to think he used the same dirty tactics when his very reputation and presidency were hanging on the line? Obama was standing at the edge of the cliff yesterday.
The hardest part for our collective psyche has been to understand how a dictator could rise from amongst us. HE DIDN’T. America would never give birth to a man like Barack Hussein Obama. He is from another genetic pool. Barack is the Dreams From his Father formed in a renegade, disturbed American woman. Like in a horror movie, she facilitated the alien implant in her womb, and while he looks like one of us, he marches “to a different drummer.“ The music he hears comes from ”far away,” but it is not an idyllic call. Barack Obama is not one of us, America. I hope that has become crystal clear after this week’s events. Yeah, don’t forget AZ. That is the fate of every state in the Union that DARES p-off the dictator.

“Roberts did not do this of his own free will. He either got a fatwa-style death threat on his family …”
That was the very first thought I had as well … many/most of us would do anything if a believable threat was made toward our family members. The problem is, if this is true, how do we find out? Short of Roberts coming out and admitting this (and there is little chance of that if it is, in fact, what happened), how would we ever know? This administration is as close to pure evil as I have ever seen so I put nothing past them. And while we can fight evil with goodness, there is nothing saying we will see goodness take over in our lifetimes. Personally, I prefer to help goodness along instead of waiting for it to happen.

Report Post »“The Supreme Court had to uphold the law and if this is a tax they cannot override the Constitution on the Congress having the authority to tax and spend. ”
From the US constitution :
“Representatives and direct Taxes shall be apportioned among the several States which may be included within this Union, according to their respective Numbers, which shall be determined by adding to the whole Number of free Persons, including those bound to Service for a Term of Years, and excluding Indians not taxed, three fifths of all other Persons.”
“The Congress shall have Power To lay and collect Taxes, Duties, Imposts and Excises, to pay the Debts and provide for the common Defence and general Welfare of the United States; but all Duties, Imposts and Excises shall be uniform throughout the United States;”
“No Capitation, or other direct, Tax shall be laid, unless in Proportion to the Census or enumeration herein before directed to be taken.
No Tax or Duty shall be laid on Articles exported from any State.”
16th Ad:
“The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes on incomes, from whatever source derived, without apportionment among the several States, and without regard to any census or enumeration.”
Add in Pollock v. Farmers’ Loan & Trust Co..
And well its quite clear that this is a DIRECT NON-apportioned tax … which makes it unconstitutional. There isn’t even an argument for anyone not playing politics… take some time and look it up.

How many times do you need to be schooled? Romneycare is legal and constitutional because it can be made on a state’s rights basis.
===================================
Why is the federal government paying for 2/3 of the cost of Romneycare then?:
———————————
“Over the five-year life of the new law, total cost has been $9 billion, with the federal government picking up nearly 64 percent of the cost, the state’s share is more than 18 percent, and the remaining 18 percent split by hospitals and insurers, who pass it along to their customers, to pay into the Health Safety Net fund, which reimburses providers for treating the uninsured. The federal share consists of the usual 50 percent reimbursement for Medicaid, supplemented by stimulus money and additional funds awarded the state for its innovative program to subsidize insurance of the working poor.
Many of the more than 400,000 Massachusetts residents who have become insured since the law’s enactment receive coverage paid in whole or in part with public funds.”

Posted on June 28, 2012 at 11:59amGood. I‘m glad you’re angry. Perhaps now we can talk about origianlism vs. the version of constitutionalism we’re not to permitted to talk about on the Blaze. (What truly makes a progressive) Obviously Roberts is a progressive douchebag who believes the Constitution (again I can’t talk about it) Think Romney will appoint anyone to the right of Roberts to the high court… think again. So GB are you now prepared to ease up on your censorship so we can have an honest discussion about how we want our politicians to interpret the Constitution, or are you going to continue to be a d**k (I’ll save the moderators some time) about it.

Posted on June 28, 2012 at 1:09pmJustasurvivor………..Like you I was so angry and disappointed that I wanted to cry. The disappointment I felt over Roberts was and is overwhelming BUT……..I calmed down, remembered that God is still in control and remembered too that all things work to the good for those that love the Lord.
We need to remain angry, a God given emotion, but channel it where it will do the most good.
We must continue to pray, to put our faith in God,vote if we are allowed and otherwise prepare for the coming hard times.
I believe things are going to get even uglier as election times rolls around. Stay strong.

Is it really right for the SCOTUS to overturn the “will” of the people? After all, that will is what got a majority democrats in the house and senate to begin with. If there weren’t majorities, we wouldn’t be having this conversation now.

Posted on June 28, 2012 at 12:29pmThere is already an ability to remove activist judges. It is called impeachment. According to the constitution judges are appointment during good behavior – not for life. Though not used often, the process is already in place. The problem is that congress would have to hold an impeachment hearing – something not very popular to do.

Posted on June 28, 2012 at 11:53amYou can’t really blame the Supreme Court. Blame the Democrats who SHOVED this tax through. This was ruled on as a TAX on the middle class, NOT as a mandate to buy insurance. That’s the problem. Posted on June 28, 2012 at 1:00pmI don‘t blame the SCOTUS and I don’t blame the Democrats. I blame the voters. I blame those that vote Dem and I blame those that vote Repub. I‘ve been convinced for nearly three decades that there isn’t any difference in the two parties. Since Reagan, the conservative sweetheart, ran up almost $2T in deficits and never secured the border after his amnesty. Both major parties are Progressive. For the life of me I can’t imagine how Glenn can back Governor Romney. He’s as Progressive as it gets. That’s why the R establishment is behind him.
For a time I believed the Libertarians were the answer but they’ve never been able to catch on. Americans just don’t seem to be ready for that much freedom. The Tea Party can’t seem to coalesce into anything other than a protest movement. Quite a few of the Tea Party rockstars from the freshman class of ‘10 voted for both the Patriot Act re-authorization and the NDAA, plus other questionable freedom eroding legislation.
Now we can’t even depend on the supposed rock solid conservatives on the SCOTIS. We need somewhere to turn.

Posted on June 28, 2012 at 9:52pmAll the “constitutionalists” that want to rage and gp it alone for a pure government better rethink and work within the only party able to deliver on conservative values.
Judge Roberts did not rule the mandate constitutional and in reinterpreting the tax bit only sent the message that the courts job isn’t to deliver what the will of the people has collectively caused. IOW the voters fell for obama’s rhetoric. The corrupt partisan media did not vet him for the sheeple and snoozing they lost America. Not aroused and angry (when you feel anger, the other person’s goal is power) maybe we stop looking for others to produce to our expectations. Hard right conservatives are not able to win without the GOP establishment and political experts.
Pray, repent, beg, try harder to make a cooperative effort that can win and get the 14% registered if they think like you do. Historical and country defining election and the GOP is infighting. The dems and their media aren’t. Pride is the universal sin. Since conservatives actually believe in God, lean on Him and fault noone for doing same in only way they know how.
