‘The Show Sucked’: Kayak on Why it Yanked its Ads from ‘All-American Muslim’

Travel website Kayak, the second company to be publicly identified as having yanked their advertisements from the TLC reality show “All-American Muslim,” apologized Wednesday for how it dealt with the situation.
“We handled this poorly,” read the statement from Kayak chief marketing officer Robert Birge in an explanation of why they pulled their support. “We would not want anyone to think that we caved to hatred.”
Kayak confirmed it would no longer be advertising after it was listed on the conservative Florida Family Association’s website as one of the more than 60 companies boycotting the show. Hardware giant Lowe’s also sparked massive controversy over the weekend with its decision to pull its advertisements from the show, which chronicles the lives of several Muslim-American families living in Dearborn, Mich.
But Birge insisted the show‘s subject matter wasn’t the reason it chose to stop advertising. Instead, he said it was because of the way TLC misrepresented the show to advertisers. While Kayak “deemed the show a worthy topic,” he blasted TLC’s handling of it.
“[A]ny reasonable person would know that this topic is a particular lightning rod. We believe TLC went out of their way to pick a fight on this, and they didn’t let us know their intentions,” he said. “That’s not a business practice that generally gets repeat business from us.”
Birge also tried to soften the decision by saying the company wasn’t necessarily “pulling” their advertisements, but rather choosing not to renew their campaign when the show returns in January.
Other companies, including Campbell Soup and Sears Holdings — which owns Sears and Kmart — disputed the Florida Family Association‘s claims they withdrew their ads in protest of the show’s content, the New York Times reported.
“Unfortunately, this decision comes across as bending to bigotry. It also appears that we did not support people who deserve support as people and as Americans,” Birge said. “For that, I am profoundly sorry.”
“Lastly, I watched the first two episodes. Mostly, I just thought the show sucked,” he said. “Based on our dealings with TLC and the simple assessment of the show, I decided we should put our money elsewhere. Apologies again.”

Wait, there’s more:
“But CAIR and its radical allies have claimed something more sinister is going on. They have joined voices in a chorus of vicious allegations, name-calling, and outrageous demands—all intended to bully an all-American company, Lowe’s Home Improvement, into submission to their radical agenda. ”
Yep, CAIR is now involved. What a crock! This is a PRIVATE business! Also, Act for America invited me to sign a petition to stand with Lowe’s on their decision. Of course I signed it. I suggest you go to Act for America’s website and sign the petition.

The Learning Channel‘s exec’s know that people there have been trained to be accepting of Muslims along with their culture. Not assimilating to American culture. Propaganda is the first step into lulling people into accepting whatever it is you want them to believe. Dittos for Political Correctness, which is also a form of propaganda.
What Lowes and the other companies have displayed by yanking their ads from this show, is an example of how America became the great and prosperous country that it is. Defeat our enemies! Don’t appease and allow them to take over your culture, then country! Look at what has become of Great Britain.
I guess CA and Iran have more in common than just pistachio nuts…

Every religion, at its core, has some driving political goal. It’s up to the voters to say which rules from religion are allowed to leak into the secular legal system we have in this country. If for some unfathomable reason I had to move to a muslim country for an extended period, I would most certainly try to dress like the locals.

Yep, “it sucked” really covers the show in an honest fashion. propaganda is too good of name for it. C-r-a-p is better. They picked the most rude, obnoxious people to highlight they could find, then were sure to try to make them look like they were all Mensa members, with the audience being a bunch of peeons too dumb to comprehend anything beyond opening a big-mac box.
TLC has become nothing more than a blatant mouthpiece for the radicals, greenies, and fruitloops.

-1/7/10 FoxDetroit: Majed Moughni, organizer of the Dearborn Area Community Members, organized a rally against Muslim terrorism (note: MUSLIM terrorism, not simply “terrorism”) saying: “It’s time for Muslims to stand up against the terrorists. This is serious. We’re putting our faces in front of the world. We‘re telling the terrorists we’re Americans. If you want to kill Americans come kill us.” You can see the protest on YouTube (search “majed Moughni”). You’ll see two hijabs and no Muslim skull caps. 300,000 muslims live in the Dearborn area — about 50 showed up. Since that “march” Moughni has received multiple death threats from – guess who.
Muslims and their leaders do nothing but talk, talk, talk about Muslim terrorism. If they do sign petitions and march against terrorism it’s never — NEVER! — against MUSLIM terrorism, only the generic form of terrorism.
So, don’t hold your breath waiting for a Muslim version of Tea Partiers or Occupy Wall Streeters group to protest against MUSLIM terrorism. It won’t happen — never has, never will.

Lifelong buddies that rode the plains fought the bad and did good for others. Anyways, in the cartoon, they’re sitting on their horse surrounded by indians. The Lone Ranger said something to the effect of “looks we might not make it out of this one old friend”, Tanto is looking over and replies “what do you mean ‘we’ …pale face.”
