‘I Love Abortion’: Radical Pro-Choice Activist Argues Against Adoption

LifeNews has uncovered a real doozy when it comes to abortion rights activism. On a website titled “RH Reality Check” (with the “RH” standing for “Reproductive Health”), progressive writer Jessica delBalzo has a headline that is sure to bring precisely zero surprise to many pro-life activists, but may also scandalize moderate pro-choicers. The headline reads, “I Love Abortion: Implying Otherwise Accomplishes Nothing for Womens’ Rights.”

The rest is no better:

I love abortion. I don’t accept it. I don’t view it as a necessary evil. I embrace it. I donate to abortion funds. I write about how important it is to make sure that every woman has access to safe, legal abortion services. I have bumper stickers and buttons and t-shirts proclaiming my support for reproductive freedom. I love abortion.[...]

Safe and legal are concepts I fully support, but rare is something I cannot abide. I understand the theoretical mindset: it is better for a woman to prevent an unwanted pregnancy than to bear the physical and financial burden of an abortion. While my own abortion involved very little pain and a minimal financial expense, one which my ex-boyfriend was willing to share with me, even I can admit that using condoms or the pill is preferable to eight weeks of nausea and weight gain. Contraception is a valuable tool.

However, there is no need to suggest that abortion be rare. To say so implies a value judgement, promoting the idea that abortion is somehow distasteful or immoral and should be avoided. Even with affordable, accessible birth control, there will be user errors, condoms that break, moments of spontaneity. The best contraceptive access in the world won’t change the fact that we are merely human and imperfect in our routines. The best access in the world also won’t change the fact that some women are raped, while others find that even wanted pregnancies sometimes need to be terminated for the woman’s well-being or to avoid birthing a child with painful or unmanageable disabilities. Women who find themselves facing any of these situations shouldn’t feel guilty for failing to keep the numbers low.

To be sure, comments like this can be found on any number of pro-choice websites, frequently in the comments section, rather than in actual columns. But as it turns out, Jessica delBalzo is more than just your average pro-abortion radical feminist. In fact, her major cause isn’t just promoting abortion, but interesting, ending adoption.

On delBalzo’s Amazon profile, she lists herself as “the founder of Adoption: Legalized Lies.” Here’s a quote from the website for that organization:

If anyone is encouraging you to surrender your baby to adoption, please contact us by phone or email us. Our volunteers have experienced adoption in their own lives, and they can tell you what it feels like to be adopted or surrender your own child. We’ll also help you find the support you need to keep your baby – the best thing for both of you!

Don’t let anyone tell you that adoption is the “right choice” or the “loving option” for your baby. YOU are the only mother or father your baby has, and no one will be able to take your place in his or her life. People who try to convince you to surrender your baby are probably in a position to get something out of the adoption for themselves – either money or your child himself.

Other people may tell you that you’ll be “giving a wonderful gift” to an infertile couple – this is NOT your responsibility. Your only job is to be the best mom or dad you can be for your baby. Your child isn’t going to want or accept any substitute for the real thing!

In other words, the general tenor of delBalzo’s ideas seems to be, “Abort your child rather than give it up for adoption.” Or, perhaps more accurately, “If you can’t have your child, no one can.”

They look very official and knowledgable but if you just google research some of their articles you find that their articles are written with half truths and all out lies. They are the internet version of MSNBC. They just print the liberal spin. She claims to have already had an abortion. I say thank God! The baby is in heaven and she doesn’t have the opportunity to infect anjoother person with all of her mental illnesses that come with being a liberal.. What’s that one where you think everyone is out to get you?       I will say this in her defense: at least she is honest about her beliefs. Most (or at least many) who are “pro choice” are actually “pro abortion” — they just frame it in a way that they think will be acceptable to more people.

    I am not very religious. I am also not a biologist. So I cannot reasonably argue things like ‘when life begins’. However, we all know that pregnancy does lead to life. And for this woman to be so casual about abortion is sickening. Even if you believe in abortion, it should NEVER be taken casually. I’ve heard it said that Liberalism is a mental disorder. I would counter that it’s not. However, hard core Liberals are Narcissists – and that IS a mental disorder. This uncaring, self centered woman is the proof. She needs help. As do most liberals who live in denial, are uncaring, ignore facts, and only care about themselves and what they want. Narcissists should be ignored, and never be given a second thought. They should never be in positions of power (like politics or media). They will turn on each other as well as the rest of us. It’s a dangerous sickness, and one that needs to be recognized and dealt with. We have way too many of them roaming the land these days – from this heartless woman to the White House.

      I have yet to see people birthing anything but people. No dogs no cats just humans. Being a human I think all humans should have the same rights I got from my Mother. That being said, human pregnancy does lead to human life. From the very second the cell starts to divide, the only out come is a human being. All you need is a minimum of common sense to see the ridiculousness of drawing arbitrary lines that define life. An embryo is life.       You need not be religious to support natural human rights and you need not be a biologist to know when life begins. In fact, I find that if you are religious, then you start to make wildly ignorant statements like male masturbation is equivalent to genocide. And if you are a biologist you start to dehumanize what is a human by calling it a blastocyst or fetus instead of a human being.

      If you want to know when the rights of the person start, then just look to nature. A baby that is born is definitely a human being with all the rights of any other person. We all know this to be true. Now, was the baby inhuman 30 minutes prior to being born? I think not. How about a month prior? Still no. Some will say here that a “fetus” is only human after it can support itself outside the mother’s womb. I would tell them that as science and technology progress, premature babies have continually been saved from death sooner and sooner and that one day, science will have an incubator that is nearly of completely capable of keeping even the most recently formed human alive. So choosing either birth or some arbitrary point before birth as the moment a child becomes human is ignorant.

      However, during the first 24-48 hours after fertilization, the egg has to physically implant into the mother’s uterus. This is not always successful in nature. Once implantation has occurred however, a child has the reasonable right to life barring any accidental or biological misfortune. Implantation is

That being said, anyone remember the prophecy given by John in the Book of Revelation, where he says that women shall drink the blood of their infant. If you had never even had the concept of an abortion come to your mind and saw these kind of acts going on in a vision, would you maybe describe it like that. We can say this for the cells are ordered and actively thrive to developed on it’s own without direction from “outside” influences.       Contraception is so readily available that they practically throw the stuff at you here at the university. Walk around the student union, and you can find free contraceptives. Go to the local Planned Parenthood, you can get free contraceptives. Go to the county health clinic, you can get free contraceptives. Go online, you can really inexpensive contraceptives. There is no war on women – except the war on women’s minds being waged by the left. They will have women believe that, unless they are eliminating future populations through abortion and contraception, they are not admirable women.

      And those who lead to captivity will go to captivity, and why is that? Does that mean the Lord is going to stand in front of you with an open book drudging up all the sins you have done? No. What it means is that if you don’t have the fruit in your soul to know the things you have done onto another, then you don’t have the soul to conquer. Just as a parent could raise their children in a manner that makes the children fail at the virtues of oh say, getting to the job on time so they don’t get fired from work. Or if the parent did teach the virtues then it isn‘t the parent’s fault, and the word of the parent judges the children.

    A women, while beautiful beyond compare and smart as whips will never be the equal of a man. That fact can be solidified by simply looking at all of the ways they seek equality. To advocate the killing of ones own offspring believing that somehow you will now be able to “compete” against the guys points to severe trauma as a child-possibly not being loved by their fathers or the product of a mentally ill divorced mother. I have met many smart, capable women in my life. But I have never met one that could do the stuff that a man can do. Not one.

      Great insight into the complexities of morality. I struggle with the death penalty but believe it has its place in the most heinous crimes. Taking an innocent life is inexcusable, especially the life of a child. Taking a guilty, murderous, deranged, “danger to society” life is something to be carefully considered and perhaps should be executed. Protecting life, liberty and property is a noble position. On another note I believe that causing prisoners to work in some sort of productive cause would be a better way than to let them just sit there idle.

      Our justice system has been taken over by liberal feel good judges. The courts have said murder is legal with Rov V Wade.NDAA will allow American Soldiers to detain me and keep me without trial.TSA agents can grab my private parts in spite of the 4th ammendment…The Government has run amok and i for one am ready for the revolution. I will give up my life for Liberty and not just give liop service to it. I will fight for it when the @hit hits the fan. Most people will run and hide.There are so few men left in the world and we have been forced into a corner. I used to protest in front of Planned parenthood many years ago…they even made laws against that. One day it will all break loose and LIBERTY and FREEDOM will reign again in this Nation. No more confiscatory, murderoous, regulatory laws…One day soon we will fight for what is ours..I hope it is tomorrow to tell the truth.

    These people thrive on their 15 minutes of fame- I wish we could get the liberal media not to even talk about it so no one knows about her services- only promote good- I think it is time that we start talking about the good instead of always defending ourselves against the evil- It seems those who scream the loudest are the ones that are heard- Well lets start screaming out message out there- start writing columns in the editorial about good stuff- don’t write to respond about their evil – turn it around and write about a good idea to contradict theirs as if we did not even read theirs. Flood the papers, flood the billboards, put up flyers that are positive for people to see- say hi to everyone and be nice- maybe it will start to rub off- and mostly no matter who the candidate is that is running against Obama- vote him out- support and stay united to get morals and class back to America. We can do this together – lets have our own uprising of being nice and helpful with morals and class!

      Secondly…don‘t you think serilization is better so we don’t incure the cost for abortions? Since it is all about cost no care in Obamacare. Sterilization seems like ProChoice for me..saves the taxpayers the cost of an abortion(s) and contraception!

    There are no words for you except these: May GOD have mercy on your soul for it is surely satan’s as it is. you are deceived and wrong. A wise woman once told me that all women carry all children they conceive. Some are carried to fruition. Some are lost by events of nature. All too many are aborted. All women who lose a baby no matter how, carry that baby all the rest of their lives. All human women are scarred forever by abortions. Some females are proving not to be human and the left seems to have more subhuman women than real women. Again, may GOD have mercy on each of your sad, sick, distorted, warped souls.

    I have nine very close friends and family members who were all adopted instead of aborted. I am one of those nine. We are all indebted to and grateful for our courageous birth mothers.
