‘I Love That Smell of the Emissions’: Palin Mounts Motorcycle to Kick-Start Bus Tour

WASHINGTON (AP) — Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin is rumbling into the parking lot of the Pentagon on the back of a motorcycle as she starts an East Coast bus tour.
Wearing black from head to toe, the Republicans’ 2008 vice presidential nominee stopped at a thousands-strong motorcycle ride from the Pentagon to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial. Palin, who is mulling a White House run, was joined by her family.
Palin chatted with other motorcyclists and joked about how warm she is in her leather jacket. Temperatures in Washington are expected to climb near 90 degrees on Sunday.
“I love that smell of the emissions,” she said, donning sunglasses and a Harley Davidson skullcap-style, black helmet.
Despite her low-key role, her presence is notable for the short notice and speculative chatter it has generated. Her appearance is part of the “One Nation” tour she announced just days ago on her SarahPAC.com website.
“It’s imperative that we connect with our founders, our patriots, our challenges and victories to clearly see our way forward. A good way to do this is to appreciate the significance of our nation’s historic sites, patriotic events and diverse cultures, which we‘ll do in the coming weeks on our ’One Nation’ tour,” she wrote, leaving open for debate any guess on her plans.

She succeeded to a remarkable extent in settling, at least for a time, what had seemed insoluble problems, in the process putting Alaska on a trajectory to financial well-being.
While other states reel under staggering deficits, budget cuts, and protests, Alaska has built up a $12 billion surplus, most of it attributable to Palin’s tax. Galvin estimates that it has raised $8 billion more than Murkowski’s tax would have. But given the corruption that plagued the PPT, a better benchmark might be the tax it supplanted—the one put on the books after the Exxon Valdez spill. By that measure, Palin’s major achievement has probably meant the difference between a $12 billion surplus and a deficit…
On the big issues she left the state in better shape than most people, herself included, seem to realize or want to credit her for.
Palin’s achievement was to pull Alaska out of a dire, corrupt, enduring systemic crisis and return it to fiscal health and prosperity when many people believed that such a thing was impossible

She was the only reason that they almost beat OBAMA the first time…but your boss, SOROS flooded the market and wrecked our economy like he did in England and three other countries….These one-worlders are just minons for SOROS who doesn’t give a damn about anything but money…how much is enough Georgie? SARAH PALIN is the only decent thing McCain has done in decades. He’s a War Hero and I respect that, but he sure got off base somewhere…Illegal immigrants; Tarp; cap and tax and the list goes on.

Notice how, in almost all the major news outlets, the focus seems to be on Palin’s appearance rather than on the event itself. If Rolling Thunder is about raising awareness for MIA Americans, Palin dishonored the cause by making the event about raising awareness for her possible presidential campaign. Regardless of how you feel about Palin’s politics, you folks should be annoyed by this.

Stop aid to foreign nations until our house is in order?
Stop illegal immigration and actually deal with the Cartel war on our border?
Reduce Government back to it‘s intended purpose and give State’s rights back?
End all Social programs? SSI, Medicare, Medicaid, etc…
If she runs we will see where she stands…I hope she is a true Constitutionalist….
