‘I Screamed & Ran Outside:’ Woman Describes Finding Bloody Alligator in Bathroom

PALMETTO, Fla. (The Blaze/AP) — A Tampa-area woman found an unwelcome weekend guest in her bathroom – a 7-foot alligator.
Alexis Dunbar says she screamed and the alligator hissed when she found it inside the bathroom of her home Saturday afternoon. Her boyfriend propped a small table by the bathroom to keep the gator inside until an officer from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission showed up to take him away.
Dunbar believes the alligator used a doggie door on the back porch to get inside the house. Dunbar lives in Palmetto, which is south of St. Petersburg.
On Monday morning, she described the horrifying find to Fox News. “I screamed and ran outside,” she explained:
She has two cats that survived the ordeal.
Spring is mating season for alligators and wildlife officials urge people to be extremely cautious, especially around water.

Unfortunately for the gator, the policy allows the trapper to harvest (kill, sell its meat, and hide) any gator six feet or longer. Most residents who call Fish and Wildlife think the gators in their lakes will be moved to some wild place in the Everglades to live the good life in the wild. Not so!

The radio station I used to work at, one of the guys had a bad habit of leaving the door open while he went outside to smoke. I frequently reminded him that things like that can happen……and it did! I snake got in and when he was discoved, there were only 3 people at the station, me and two other ladies. One of the ladies totally freaked out when he tried to go in her office. I had to get between her and the snake to close her door to keep him away from her……when I did, he snapped at me and almost bit me! We called animal control and they sent a little old lady that said…..”I don’t know what to do….I usually just deal with puppies! lol We finally got someone to get the snake out and my friend down from the desk she was standing on…..TRUST ME…..after that he NO LONGER left the door open……with three ladies ready on this case after that ordeal……but, we have had many laughs about it……although my daughter freaked out when she heard about it! She was not too happy about me stepping in front of a snake…..but, I had no choice.
