‘I Wanted to Punch Him in His Head’: NJ State Senator Unleashes Tirade Against Christie

New Jersey State Senator Stephen Sweeney, who also serves as senate president, is furious with NJ Gov. Chris Christie. According to Sweeney, Christie’s line-item vetoes in the recent Democratic budget were “vindictive” and meant to punish the Democrats. And he let the governor, and the press, know about his disdain through a series of colorful and even graphic comparisons.

“This is all about him being a bully and a punk,” he said told the press on Friday. “I wanted to punch him in his head.”

But that’s not all.

“You know who he reminds me of?” Sweeney added. “Mr. Potter from ‘It’s a Wonderful Life,’ the mean old bastard who screws everybody.”

He wasn’t done. Then came the analogy of Christie taking hostages and shooting them.

“Listen, you can punch me in the face and knock me down, do what you want,” Sweeney said. “But don’t be vindictive and punish innocent people. These people didn’t do anything to him. It’s like a bank robber taking hostages. And now he’s starting to shoot people.

“I liken it to being spoiled. He was angry because he wanted a mutual budget. But do you hurt people because of that? Do you take $8 million in AIDS funding away? Legal services is drowning as it is, and you take away another $5 million? I’m just so angry that he hurt people like this to prove a point. He is a cruel man.”

You can watch part of Sweeney’s comments below:

According to Sweeney, he waited and waited to meet with Christie last week before the governor made the cuts. But he never got a chance to speak to the state’s leader, and that stoked his fury.

But Christie’s office threw water on that fire on Sunday. In a statement, a Chrstie aide told Politico that Sweeney did in fact meet with Christie plenty of times before the cuts:

“The Governor met with Steve Sweeney and Speaker Oliver for 1 1/4 hours privately on Monday afternoon June 27th, met with Sweeney on Tuesday before the bill signing, and spoke to Sweeney again on the phone Tuesday,” the aide said. “Contrary to what the Senate President said, he was not sitting in his office ‘like a nitwit’ on Wednesday; he was in session with the Senate all day on Wednesday into the late evening — not waiting for the Governor to call him about a meeting.”

“So, please,” the aide added, “spare us some of the shock, surprise – and foul language – that Governor Christie would merely sit still for them to punch him repeatedly in the head like that.”

Dear Mr. Sweeney, you and your liberal buddies just don’t seem to get it, WE’RE BROKE ya big jerk. If most of your “feel-good” socialist programs hadn’t been started in the first place, in the name of diversity and compassion, well then, they wouldn’t have to be cut back, now would they? You are a fool LEFTIST TOOL. Have a wonderful and Happy Fourth of July!

The problem is that this clown believes what he’s saying. He has no concept of fiscal responsibility and cannot understand that the state cannot print money to pay for his socialistic programs without taxing his constituents by increasing sales, property, or income taxes for everyone who works for a living . “From each according to his ‘ability’. To each according to his‘need’.”

Dem’s are like small children crying about not getting their way, exaggerating, lying, threatening violence and just plain throwing a tantrum. Look at all the states going through tough fiscal issues, running out of money, believing in social justice programs that tend to waste then help and just shutting down. they are all ran by Democrats or rinos (in California’s case) It’s pathetic. You would think the nation would have woken up to the irresponsibility and corruption that surrounds these people.

@Snow, well i agree with u most of the time,,,I beg 2 differ this time,,,,there is no way that any governor should be taking away from poor people and more impotantly older people….and where i come from a business that makes more then a million a year is not considered a small business…dont get me wrong, not saying the rich should pay the deficet off, and neither should the poor or older people!!! In my eyes it should be the freakin crooked polititions that have gotten us to this point that should pay the deficit off..instead they sit back on there yahts, or there estates and collect a nice retirement package and free health care, while the older generation has to decide whether to go with out food or a meal..what this country needs 2 do id cut pay scales for these polititions, they shouldnt make anymore or have any better health package than what the best paid general in are armed forces gets. these pig polititions sit back collect the big bucks for what? its not like there out protecting the country!!!! want to see the deficit go down lets start cutting the pay of polititions…they make 2 much dam money!!! Sorry Snow didnt meen 2 go off on a tirade with u. just got caught in the moment. and hope u take no offence.. Like i said agree with your opinions 98 % of the time… God bless u…But the governor isnt doing his job right if he supports the rich and takes away from the old and poor.

This is what democracy looks like…. A obvious Union thug turned State Senator lying to the public.

Conversely, This is what a Republic looks like…. Cutting spending, removing unneeded most times duplicate jobs and spending only what is needed.

You see one saves the State and the people of the State, while the other rapes the people of the State until the State is broke. Can you guess which is which? If you guess the Democracy of the Senator rapes the people of the state, you win a prize!! But, if you live in a state run by this type of person, he will take your prize in the name of taxation for the poor.

If I were Christy, I think I would say to him, “okay, you come up with a budget that is balanced and I will consider it.” Why are the left always criticizing the ones who come up a budget instead of coming up with a balanced budget themselves that could be debated?
