‘Ignorance is Bliss’: Matthews Continues Assault on Bachmann, Palin

Sarah Palin and Michele Bachmann apparently send a very different kind of thrill up Chris Matthews’ leg than President Barack Obama. Judging from his visceral reaction to the mere utterance of their names, I‘d say it’s not a “thrill” so much as a searing pain that shoots up his leg, passes through his knee with an electrifying jolt toward his groin.
He‘s not content in merely declaring that Palin or Bachmann wouldn’t have his vote if either of them were to run for president.
Instead, he feels this unnatural, unhealthy urge to tear them down on every front. In his latest rant, he continues to criticize them for not being polished politicians with a counsel of advisers feeding them lines before they speak in public.
He can’t understand why people praise Palin or Bachmann “like messiahs.” (Ha!)
He then goes on to criticize Bachmann for her pronunciation — a critique I don’t recall hearing when President Obama praised “corpsemen.”
I‘d be willing to bet that both Bachmann and Palin know we don’t have 57 states. Even when the commander-in-chief is caught referring to one foreign war while talking about another, there’s not a peep from Matthews and his crew of political cronies.
It would be funny if it weren’t so rude — Matthews is so transparently threatened by these women, he can’t stand it.

This may be in part due to her abandoning him in favor of the family poodle.
