2 Dead, 1 Wounded After Immigration and Customs Enforcement Officers Open Fire on Each Other

LONG BEACH, Calif. (AP) — Two people were fatally shot and one was wounded Thursday at an Immigration and Customs Enforcement office in Long Beach, a law enforcement official told The Associated Press.
The Long Beach police official said the shooter killed one person, wounded another with a shot to the stomach, and then was killed. It was not immediately clear if the shooter died from a self-inflicted wound.
The official spoke on condition of anonymity because he wasn’t authorized to speak publicly about the case.
It was not clear what motivated the shooting at the Glenn M. Anderson Federal Building in downtown Long Beach.
Video from a KABC-TV news helicopter showed several police officers on motorcycles escorting an ambulance to a nearby hospital.
A spokeswoman for Immigration and Customs Enforcement declined to comment and said the agency would release a statement later.
In addition to ICE, the federal building also houses the Internal Revenue Service and the U.S. Probation and Parole Office.

“Ezequiel Garcia, an Immigration and Custom Enforcement supervisor, drew his weapon at about 5:30 p.m. Thursday and fired multiple times at Kevin Kozak, a top official at the agency’s Long Beach, Calif., office, investigators said at a news conference. A third agent, who wasn’t identified, intervened and shot Mr. Garcia, 45 years old, who died on the scene, they said.
Mr. Kozak was transported to a hospital and is in stable condition and is speaking, said Claude Arnold…”

I have had some dealing with ICE in an investigation of sorts in the past (not of me..I was in Law enforcement for a while). ICE either should be forced to do their job are disbanded. It is no surprise to me that they are shooting each other. It is probably from mind numbing boredom since they do nothing.

Very feared agency by illegal aliens in the 1970‘s and 1980’s. This whole Homeland Security branch just isn’t working out. Bush tried to make it simpler, but things are only getting worse and now with this, everything will just be covered up. CBS doesn’t even seem to be covering it. They decided to report the story of the two ICE agents attacked and one killed in Mexico. They’ll ignore the current story on our soil in Cali.

I saw or heard a blurb that Kozak’s superior, the very day of this shooting, was in Washington D.C. attending (maybe testifying) at the Fast and Furious inquiry being held there. Just like fast and furious itself, this shooting is beginning to look like there may be more to it then just a squabble gone bad about a job transfer or promotion.

Posted on February 17, 2012 at 6:26amHaving just heard a brief bit on Fox this morning, the assailant agent shot his supervisor, and somebody else then was either shot dead by another agent or he may have turned his gun on himself. Information is still sketchy. I’m just guessing right now, but if this agent shot his supervisor I’d venture to say that the supervisor was something of an ICEhole himself. Very likely put undue and absurd pressures on his subordinates and one of them apparently flipped out. Like I said, just guessing right now.

Wonder how long until they uncover the story.
This is NOTHING compared to what takes place in the streets/neighborhoods of Long Beach every single day. Huge drug trade…very close to Watts & South Central L.A…. gang/crime capital of the U.S…
But, that’s not a good political platform to run on. “To hell with CA!!” Too late…we’ve got one foot in the door.
