Incredible Hit-and-Run Caught on Video in Philly

YEADON, Pa. (AP) — Police in a Philadelphia suburb say they have found the car involved in a hit-and-run that injured a man in a convenience store parking lot, a crime recorded by surveillance cameras.
WPVI-TV reports that a tip led Yeadon (YAY’-den) police to a silver 2007 Dodge Caliber in Philadelphia. Detective Sgt. David Splain says it has damage consistent with the June 9 accident, which injured a 7-Eleven employee.
Police say the owner and driver of the car, 32-year-old Wilaisha Rankins, remains at-large. A passenger in the car surrendered Tuesday. Police say that person is cooperating and likely won’t face charges.
Footage from the store’s surveillance cameras shows the car hitting the employee around 10:30 p.m. on June 9, pushing him into the store. He suffered an injured leg.

Posted on June 23, 2011 at 10:57amWhat worries me, is what kind of person can hit someone possibly injure or kill them and not care. Not all of them were that drunk, I’m pretty sure of that. I hope this haunts them forever. It is a shame what kind of world this has come to. (by the way all races do things like this, i don’t think that had anything to do with it.) The real problem here is STUPIDITY!!!

Posted on June 25, 2011 at 1:23amI do not give any excuse for any of them but how do any of us know exactly how much drug or drink these people had consumed? we don‘t We also don’t know what they were thinking when they did there little driving maneuver so we can speculate but we really don’t know. We are all disgusted about these people but making fun of their weight is then lowering ourselves into the same thing we are calling them. why do we make fun of the way someone looks when we are angry with them, I see it on here all the time, most of us on here believe in Jesus and he would surely never say such things. I think that these people did a terrible thing and their judgement and morals seem to be quite low and they deserve whatever the law throws at them but calling someone a cow? that says more about yourself then them.

Posted on June 23, 2011 at 9:32amWhy was the car in question waiting in the parking lot? It sat there for a couple of seconds until the other car drove up and then they had to have the same spot?? There was only one other parked car which meant there were several open spots and they had to go for that one! The “ME FIRST” attitude of some of the people is just amazing. Don’t think that the is the attitude, explain why people have to always get ahead of all other cars to get to the red light first.

Not to let anyone off the hook, but could there have been a fight in the car and someone either forced the gas peddle or mistakenly push it during the fight? Just saying. The employee could not have been the target because they could have gotten him without involving the other vehicle.

A illegal hit my husband’s truck and almost killed himself and hurt my husband. They took the illegal to the hospital, determined he was high and drunk, and than let him walk away. We had to pick up the pieces and I will never forget the devastation that it caused our family.
