Indonesian Muslim Cleric Gets Minimal Jail Time for Inciting Mob Against Christian

Some of you may recall the violent Indonesian mob that destroyed two churches and attacked a Christian school in reaction to a “lenient” (five years, the max) prison sentence for a man who handed out leaflets calling Islam a violent religion. Over a thousand Muslims rioted to express their outrage that the court failed to sentence the offending Christian, Antonius Banwengan, to death.
Police stand guard outside the trial.
Tuesday, the cleric who incited that mob was sentenced to less than a year in prison. For the charge of incitement he faced a maximum sentence of six years, as well as seven years for a second charge of mob violence.
But guess what? He thinks that’s unfair and plans to appeal, despite the fact that he could be out in a few months anyway.
So let’s review: the Christian got five years (the maximum) for handing out pamphlets. The cleric called for violence and assisted the rioters. He got less than one year for inciting a rampaging mob after facing a possible thirteen-year sentence. And he thinks that’s unfair. Anyone see a trend?
According to the Jakarta City News, the lead prosecutor stated the mitigating circumstances in favor of a lighter sentence included the facts that the cleric had no prior convictions and runs an Islamic boarding school.
Perhaps it’s time to coin a new phrase — “Jakarta justice.”

I mean, how much more evidence do we need that these people are truly evil? We should get the heck out of all muslim/islamic countries and let them all rot. No money, no aid, no American soldiers, no embassies, no listening to their whining about inhumane treatment, no trying to convert the human garbage, no more meddling in their politics, no more allowing islamic believers to come to this country…period.
Drill for our own oil and they would cease to have any impact on us other than to stir the emotions of ultra-liberal college kids and rich people who call the police on an American homeless vets asking for change, and then donate millions to “Save the Towelheads” charities.
How many more times do we need to have our faces spat in by this trash? How much more American blood has to be shed helping gutless cowards do nothing but take over and become the next monsterous dictator? How many more American families have to lose their savings, jobs, homes and children paying for wars which accomplish nothing but to bankrupt our nation?
What needs to happen before we tell the next goat-herding country that claims they want to overthrow their tyrant and bring democracy to their lands …”GOOD FOR YOU! LET US KNOW WHEN THAT HAPPENS…WE HAVE OUR OWN PROBLEMS!”
