SANTA ANA, Calif. (AP) — A Festivus for the rest of us?
A convicted drug dealer in California thinks so. He cited his adherance to the holiday celebrated on a famous episode of “Seinfeld” to get better meals at the Orange County jail.
The Orange County Register reported Monday that Malcolm Alarmo King disliked the salami meals served at the jail, so he used his devotion to Festivus as a reason to get kosher meals reserved for inmates with religious needs.
Keeping kosher is not one of the tenets of Festivus, which was depicted on “Seinfeld” as celebrated with the airing of grievances and the display of an aluminum pole.
Sheriff’s spokesman Ryan Burris says King got salami-free meals for two months before the county got the order thrown out in court.

Sometimes abbreviated text definition: Kalifornicated governance. Testing the waters of monarchical insanity.
Is there insanity of unparalleled proportion within America of today?
What is present in California’s mental-gerrymandered electoral reapportionment is not so unlike the Hearsay within modern politics. Watch out for those who cause divisions and put obstacles in your way that are contrary to the teaching of past history.
Jefferson identified the warning signal – Wing one is the problem solving and Wing two is the Conservation wing. “If wing one becomes infatuated with solving all of the problems of the nation regardless of the cost, and wing two fails to bring its power into play to sober the problem-solvers with a more realistic approach, the eagle will spin off toward the left, which is tyranny.”
Insane – without common sense

Posted on December 14, 2010 at 7:02amI wonder how he fared on the feats-of-strength aspect of Festivus.
He might have gotten away with his meal preferences if he claimed to celebrate Kwanzaa instead. It’s not required to be African-American to celebrate it, is it?
Of course, neither is a religion; they’re merely holdays. But that’s beside the point.

There is no such thing as a “ kosher meal” rule for festivus.
But then its CA. We don’t expect common sense from judges anymore.

Posted on December 14, 2010 at 10:32amYou’re right about California. The bad part is that for years California was considered a trend-setter for the rest of the nation.
As a California (a state I don’t even recognize anymore) resident, all I can say is, GOD help this country.

Posted on December 14, 2010 at 9:13pmApparently California is still setting trends…especially those we should NOT follow. Excessive spending, promising fiscally irresponsible services to people, “giving away the farm” to unions, and overtaxing the businesses that create jobs, among others. Thinking members of society would be well served by considering the opposite actions of those taken by California lawmakers.
