Inside the Highly Organized World of ‘Community Organizers’ Who Are Busy Organizing People to Organize Other People

The New Organizing Institute, a group that got started a few years ago, has been described as the ‘West Point of community organizing.’ Now they have put out a video advertising the profession of organizing. It is liable to bring tears to the eyes of Americans of all political persuasions, whether from inspiration or laughter:
“We are community organizers, and we’re dedicated to providing resources for organizers by organizers,” one of the group’s cofounders says near the end.
Lest the viewer be confused into mistaking this for an apolitical training organization, a list of the organizations and people represented follows, with a short description of what they do. See how many conservative-leaning ones you can spot:
Analyst Institute (misspelled as “Analyist Institute” in the video): Specializes in “best practices for progressive voter contact.” Here’s a link to their leadership page. Oddly, the bios of each of the leaders is password protected.
Molly Katchpole: Recent college graduate responsible for organizing against the Bank of America Debit Card fees. Described by Reuters as “Corporate America’s worst nightmare.”
GetEQUAL: An organization whose mission statement is to “empower the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) community and our allies to take bold action to demand full legal and social equality, and to hold accountable those who stand in the way.”
350.org: A self-billed “global grassroots movement to solve the climate crisis.” Founded by Bill McKibben, a man with strong ties to activism against the construction of the Keystone Pipeline.
Spiritual Youth for Reproductive Freedom: An organization that “promotes interaction among pro-choice students, young adults, clergy, and religious leaders of all faiths.“ Also advocates for ”pro-choice social justice.”
Energy Action Coalition: A “coalition of 50 youth-led environmental and social justice groups working together to build the youth clean energy and climate movement.” Advertises its ties to PIRG and CampusProgress.org, the youth arm of the Soros-funded Center for American Progress (CAP).
Trilogy Interactive: A political consulting firm whose political work includes designing a website to protest the Defense of Marriage Act, building the website for Progressives United, and also for the California Democratic Party.
National Democratic Institute: Despite the name, not an organization tied to the Democratic party. Rather, an organization designed to promote democracy around the world. Claims to work with parties across the ideological spectrum. These include the Socialist International, the Party of European Socialists, and the European People’s Party. Also works with Freedom House, an organization which some believe has ties to the State Department.
DailyKos: Radical Left-wing blog founded by Markos Moulitsas, the author of American Taliban, which accuses the Republican Party of behaving like the Taliban in regard to social issues.
Headed by Richard Trumka.
Moses Mworeko Kushaba: Identified as a “social worker.” In fact a Ugandan refugee who fled after the country made homosexuality illegal.
In other words, the organizations/people represented either have an unclear/centrist political agenda or lean heavily to the Left. As if this needs confirmation, check out this humorous video the same group released around the same time (Warning – NSFW language!):

They embody the wussification of America. The negative effects of decades of everything being plastic, mocrowavable, and handed to people. Kids growing up thinking they deserved a trophy just because they showed up. Decades of handing welfare checks to fat lazy criminal people.
Sometimes, I think American needs a good coast to coast smack down, where people have to find out what “hard” is all about. If times got so bad that some of the fat dumb and lazy starved to death, it may toughen up the rest of the crowd.

That means less people fighting against us as we take this country back … Either that are it will be a very target rich environment.
I am actually more concerned about the gangs that are using the Military as a training ground then when they leave the military that have learned small unit weapons and tactics and are then teaching their gang brothers how to really fight. Report Post »You can work for your cause by running a one-man campaign for our interests or you can ORGANIZE. That is what these people are doing and that is what the tea party does. Different causes but community organizing is the basis of true democracy (or a republic if you like). Giving the “little” people a voice as loud as the corporations and government. What could possibly be wrong with that. Are you people so closed minded that “community organizing” has become synonymous with something bad? It gives people a voice and I thought that is what this country was about. What do you call tea party groups when they get together in communities and plan strategy. I call it being an American and community organizing.

As for my response… I conceded to his point. Thanked him for his prayers. Explained my inability to find the god I’m sure exists, but expressed that I wasn’t certain of his sincerity based on my past experiences. ADHD is a pain. I astonish the people who know me with some of things I can do, but often have problems with the simple things like communicating without ******* people off. I meant no malice, nor do I hate religion.

The weather and the number of people surely supports that. Most of the pics I have are from the opposite direction. I would love to see if this could be verified if or if not that what I hunch is correct. After all, I could never imagine that these so called organizers could ever pull off such a successful event as 8/28 was.

They work by becoming your neighbour; the person sitting next to you in church; your child’s teacher; and the next thing you know you’re attending meetings about how to push social justice from the ground up. Soon you realize that if you are against them you may be standing alone.
