Insurgency in America? Former Border Agent Details National Security Threats Spilling Into the U.S. (UPDATED: With GBTV Video)

As America prepares to draw down from wars abroad, it faces a new conflict as a vicious drug war spills across our southern border with Mexico.
Former Border Patrol Agent Zachary Taylor told The Blaze just how grave the threat really is.
Taylor broke down the imminent dangers and expanded upon the case that the U.S.-Mexico border has become the soft underbelly of U.S. homeland defense.
It’s not just an immigration problem, Taylor insisted, but also a major national security vulnerability.
A former US Border Patrol Agent himself, Taylor says all these threats have been exacerbated by current Obama administration policies and deliberate distortions by much of the media.
To understand the scope of the problem, Taylor first wants the public to recognize that the dominant media narrative is intentionally false. As a former and longtime Border Patrol Agent, Taylor balked at the notion that illegal immigration is simply a function of people seeking a better life.
He feels there is a lot of nefarious activity that goes unaddressed, and said: “The main problem is that the American press is working in conjunction with the administration to keep the facts about what is happening in Mexico and Central America a secret. They are hiding it in plain sight, deception I would call it.”
Taylor continued: “Our institutions have been corrupted, the 4th estate has been corrupted. It is a tool of disinformation… A psychological warfare operation being waged against the American people using things to deflect their attention.”
According to Taylor, many of the people coming across the border are entering America illegally with the intention of doing real harm. They are coming with drugs, guns and inflicting violence, or are part of elaborate human smuggling networks with direct ties to the vast criminal cartels. The appeals to human compassion and “America is a nation of immigrants” meme ignores this very real and growing threat to the United States.
Which brought our discussion to the vicious and powerful Mexican drug cartels.
Taylor made it clear that there is no level of violent depravity or government corruption outside the ability of the cartels. The Sinaloa, the Zetas, and others narco-insurgents are engaged in beheadings, mutilations, sexual assaults, as well as videotaped torture campaigns similar to what most people associate with Al Qaeda.
“I have never seen this level of terrorist messaging,” Taylor said, referencing the brazen brutality of the criminal syndicates. Taylor provided the Blaze with slideshows that depict unspeakable cruelty – true evil – that has become the calling card of the cartels. Vans full of headless and dismembered bodies, human carcasses strewn about the side of a desert road – all of it intended to strike terror in the hearts of Americans, as well as Mexicans.
Taylor believes the cartel campaigns are not limited to the nuts and bolts of the drug trade. He told The Blaze that he feels the cartels want to have a hand in Mexican national elections and hope to help bring a sympathetic leftist government to power.
The approximately 45,000 casualties of the drug war so far have been largely a response to Mexican President Calderon’s attempts to crack down on the cartels. If the drug barons were able to help install a leftist, anti-American government that would turn a blind eye to the drug trade, it would be a huge victory for the narco-traffickers. And a huge problem for the United States.
“Mexico has an insurgency on its hands — that is exactly what the problem is — and America will have the same problem as it makes it easier to get across the border,” Taylor said.
But Taylor brought some outside elements into his analysis. He stated that drug cartel activity and terrorist activity are both transnational in nature, which means groups from around the world have become involved.
In this case, that means the Shia militant group Hezbollah.
Taylor said that Hezbollah is allying with the drug and alien smuggling operations at the border to help finance their operations in the Middle East. And in the event of hostilities with Hezbollah’s benefactor — Iran — Taylor is concerned that the cartel smuggling networks could help make America’s WMD nightmare come true.
“Get them close enough and effective enough, they [Hezbollah] could smuggle a Weapon of Mass Destruction into the United States.”
For those who would say the threat of a WMD smuggled into the U.S. is hyped or remote, Taylor points to a YouTube video from 2009 in which Muslim cleric Abdullah al-Nafisi talked about bringing 4 lbs of anthrax into the U.S., which he gleefully claimed would kill 330,000 people. Faced with all these threats, the federal government has refused to devote enough resources to the problem in Taylor’s view. On the contrary, Taylor believes the Obama administration is engaged in efforts to bureaucratically subvert border security for political gain.
When the subject turned to the brave efforts of our border agents, Taylor painted a picture of an undermanned, outgunned, and bureaucratically hobbled federal Border Patrol force. He shared a number of disheartening anecdotes and cases that showed U.S. border efforts are not only insufficient — decisions are being made at the top of the federal government to make border enforcement more difficult.
Those policy decisions can and do have lethal consequences. In the infamous killing of former Marine and Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry, operational guidelines ordered that non-lethal force was the preferred first option of defense for Terry. This ignored the fact that there had already been several attempts to shoot Border Patrol agents in the same area with high-powered rifles.
In 2009, almost exactly one year before Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry was killed by border bandits, another group of BP officers were on ATVs near Ramanote canyon in Arizona. Armed smugglers opened fire on the agents, wounding one in the ankle/foot area, but the other agent was able to withdraw.
The smugglers, however, did not retreat, despite the fact that other border patrol agents came into the area to assist. Taylor said “not only will they [bandits] open fire on Border Patrol, they will advance on them in an attack.”
A helicopter arrived on the scene, according to Taylor, but shockingly, the helo crews were prohibited from exfiltrating the wounded agent. Instead, the Border Patrol brought in a horse to carry the agent out of the area to a waiting helicopter because of DHS protocol.
It took 4 1/2 hours from the time of the engagement until the medical evacuation was completed. This was all due, as Taylor put it, to DHS policy with no basis in anything other than slowing down enforcement efforts, endangering Border agents in the process.
Taylor added that the Department of Homeland Security did away with CAS (Close Air Support) helicopters in December 2011 even though with a FLIR-mounted surveillance system, the choppers “almost guarantee you will catch your quarry.”
Taylor doesn’t mince words about this. He believes the removal of the choppers is an attempt to intentionally hamper the effectiveness of border operations.
The federal government is ”killing the operation through policy and how they deploy assets… it’s about spending money and making the show, not about effectiveness.”
Currently, there are even federal agency turf wars making border enforcement more difficult. Border Patrol Agents are not allowed to enter or pursue on federal wildlife refuges without permission. As some of these preserves — which fall under the Department of the Interior — can stretch for nearly a hundred miles from the border, they are basically a smuggler’s paradise.
House of Representative Bill 1505 would give agents unfettered access to anywhere within 100 miles of the border, but the mere fact that this legislation is needed speaks volumes about the present state of border security, as Taylor put it.
There can also be clear politics at play in how Border Patrol cases are handled. Agent Jesus Diaz was found not guilty of excessive force by two different internal review boards, but the US Attorney’s Office interceded and successfully prosecuted the agent for excessive force.
Taylor said that the federal court did not allow any background info at the trial of Agent Diaz, and the words of four inexperienced agents were used against him in court.
For this offense, Diaz was charged and spent time in prison. In addition, Taylor said it has come to light that all four of the rookie border patrol agents who testified against Diaz have since washed out of the agency.
As if the southern border were not enough, there are problems at the northern U.S. border, as well. Taylor claims that the Obama Administration is intentionally making it easier to illegally cross the northern border through bureaucratic obstacles. The National Forest Service does not allow unfettered access to Border Agents, and DHS is ceasing many transportation checkpoints along the border with Canada.
For Taylor, all of this adds up to a situation that gravely threatens U.S. national security and endangers Americans.
Asked how this state of affairs could continue, or even be allowed to worsen, Taylor summarized his case bluntly.
“This administration is trying to facilitate the entry of illegal aliens into the United States.”

Obama doesnt care. He either knows that he’s allowing an invasion of who-knows-what into the country and is allowing it, or he’s criminally negligent as a president.
Congress isnt helping much either, and the Congresspeople that are helping are being stopped by other Congresspeople and the Obama admin from doing anything about it. All on the presumption that it’s “racist” to stop illegals and even worse criminals from pouring over the border. Fine. Call me a “racist” because I want our government to do their effing jobs and PROTECT us. But someone better stop the criminals from crawling over, under and thru our borders.

Posted on February 7, 2012 at 6:35pmI don’t know if anyone else is having problems with their ISP, but Time Warner Cable is really giving me problems watching GBTV. It could be my Roku, which is new, I don’t know, but I missed the special report because TWC stalled my access (I had to keep restarting the Roku controller (exit then ‘Watch Live’ from GBTV menu.
It makes me wonder what is going on between the current Obama administration and all major ISP companies. Will they direct the ISPs to cut off Internet access periodically from those conservative online shows we watch, or what? I am very suspicious of this government.
I guess I will watch it fully when someone puts it on Youtube.com AND I HOPE THEY DO because what I have seen so far, which is not much, but is pretty powerful, it will rock people either into further DENIAL (conspiracy theory) or will make them DEMAND ANSWERS FROM THEIR POLITICIANS.
I am so angry at the administration that I could be considered one of that extremists the FBI calls anyone who opposes Obama.

The community organizer’s plan is the same as his cohorts and advisers. They want to break the white power structure in this country via an inundation of warm, non-white bodies, because they want to facilitate the conversion of this country into a Marxist state. The community organiozer who has worked all his adult life for black privileges knows such a system….like Cuba…is one in which“his people” are appointed to positions which is what he desires, because he knows full well they can’t succeed on merit in a capitalist system.
Such a system cannot be part of his planned “change” so long as white Americans are the majority faction, so an inundation of warm bodies is an absolute necessity. Please believe me when I tell you that, if the people coming into the country by the millions were Eastern Europeans, it would be Obama and his minions who would be screaming the loudest for border control.
This entire seditious plot by the radical leftists could well hit a serious snag if the jihadists join the cartels and take advantage of this coming depression and attack our infrastructure causing even more chaos and economic turmoil.
With so many chaotic factors converging at one time, the country surely will break up into fighting factions and enter into tumultuous armed conflict, eventually separating into various enclaves.

The problem is that many supporters of RP are very laissez-faire about illegal immigration–after all it brings in the pot. So I relish you finger pointing. It’s nearly hilarious, if I disregard the hypocritical factor (then I may get mad)..
OK, what we see here is a deliberate policy of Obamunist administration. Bringing troops home would not resolve this, if the administration won’t use them. But it is not an issue of a lack of military deployment. There are border agents with their ability to do their job hampered by thousand papercuts. As simple as that. Any civic action to correct the problem is also regarded by the administration as vigilante interference and may get activists into jail. It’s insane.
For now, this seems to be in the department of law enforcement, though if things continue in this mold, tactical deployment of military may be warranted. Mexico is already on that page, because their police is being killed off.
What must be apparent to anyone with 2 brain cell still functioning is that OMG–Obamunist must go. Imagine 4 more years of this crap. So, you sanctimonious paulbots, if you don’t get Ron Paul as the candidate and vote for Obamunist rather than a “RINO”, you are a part of the problem. With a “RINO”, there is a reasonable chance that his feet can be held to fire and this should be a resolute action plan. With Obamunist–he’d laugh in your face.

He doesnt legalize it, he ends the war on drugs which costs us a fortune and allows states to decide. Obama isnt bring the troops home, he is redeploying them to bases surrounding Iran. Reports have our troop levels will be at 100k surrounding Iran by March.

All the border states may even be kicked out of the union someday because of this threat if it gets to close or hot to D.C. or Manhattan. if it gets too expensive and frightening, it wouldn’t surprise me if the Northern states had a referendum to throw us out in order to “preserve the union” from a Narco-terrorist danger zone. In response to the comment that legalizing marijuana will stop the drug cartels – even the NY Times has published articles saying this is not the case. The drug cartels make additional money through the sale of harder drugs, including cocaine and heroine, and they are also involved in human trafficking.
Remember, every time you smoke a joint made with Mexican marijuana, you are supporting murder.

I watch gbtv on my computer and it kept shutting off while I was trying to watch. Interesting that you also had problems with another your roku. Did anyone else out there have issues like this? Typicallythat particular segment of the population is hardworking, and have few resources. The USDA FCS, or whatever they chose to call themselves offer to “subsidize” many agricultural programs. From here on it gets tricky! Most pament schedules are based on “parity” which factors costs of production, yield potential, and actual productivity. When you get done, the farmer is able to pay his bills, keep his land, minus taxes of course, and a very slight return on labor and investment. Just enougfh to keep them on the farm.
The trade off for that “security” is that the government tells you what you can do with the land.
Not knowing the situation, but as memeory serves me, If those cowboys were to try to maintain their property- the feds could and have taken the land away from the citizen and given it to the illegals.
Don‘t think for a minute the Feds won’t step on any thing they view as a problem!!

It’s mainly old ranching families that are selling out and leaving whether due to the cartel/terrorist threat or the last year’s hellish drought. The RGV is still a huge vacation spot for winter Texans, but I think even that has slowed somewhat than from years past. People are more wary. I hope this report wakes people up around the country and that more consider a volunteer presence on the border or buying land on the border.Instead the opposite is happening. A country’s border can never have too many eyes guarding it.

And most of the people with money are too worried about wether or not they’ll have 500 million to retire on or 1 billion. And no one ever talks about the threat to public health. Why do you think Ellis Island had a quarantine facility? Why is TB on the rise? Why is a tropical fever, Dengue, now in the US? Smallpox anyone?

He had a two week old picture ID card from the El Salvadoran gov‘t in one pocket and a new uncashed workman’s comp check from the state in the other pocket. He was arrested for delivery of a controlled substance (heroin and Meth) and is locked up awaiting trial, and eventual deportation (again). This is common place. Happens every day in Idaho, Washington, Oregon, Montana…but all the feds care about is that the cops are stopping too many Hispanics.

I met with the people and they lied and begged me to not call the police. They informed me that there were millions of them living this way in USA. They laid the old, “we do not have the opportunities that you have” trip on me. It was ridiculous. I am very concerned that there are many people driving around illegally. Talk about financial losses. I did file a police report and told the officer everything that I experienced. I will most likely need to dish out the deductible and wait for a reimbursement. They are forcing straw hat gun sales so they can “track” Mexican cartel activity. Or in other words: Try to create a situation that makes it look like our guns are flowing into Mexico so that the federal government can create new laws to shut down the 2nd Amendment. Then they got caught red-handed.

Now a story like this comes out and all you keys are saying “Yes! That’s What We Need!!”
The continued militarization of the police that all James Sexton’s articles promote, along with the military being given policing power, are the biggest threat to the American way of life that we presently face.

Now Mr. Beck and Mr. Soros are in league saying the same things in exactly the same words, all based on conjecture with an evil end game solution.
Mr. Beck said that two shows last week scared him more than any other shows, but I get chills every time I hear Mr. Beck call for an iron-fisted dictatorship as the only way to protect us from the eminent breakdown of society.

Posted on February 8, 2012 at 8:18amI live in a border town. You used to be able to walk across the border in a few minutes. Now it takes hours. Militarizing the border has hut not only me and others like me who regularly crossed into Mexico, but disrupted the whole economy.
America’s decline will mirror the rise in the police state.

This is a horrible message he is sending to the American people. Breaking a law is wrong. I don’t care how long one outlasts the law, wrong is wrong. Go home and get in line. The ones that have been here and gotten away with it should spend that many years standing in line back home.
