    This story is only half correct….and not complete….as I was watching this interview yesterday on Fox, I could tell by her tone what was going to happen…at the end of the interview, Shep walked right into it— she went on to blame the right for this attack—spouted off just like that crazy left-wing sheriff!

    Is it bad that in the midst of this horrible event, I am extremely excited about the fact that both the reporter and the interviewee used the correct term “magazine” instead of “clip”?

      Hmmm…Let me think. A clip was a metal strip that contained ammunition to fill the magazine of a repeating weapon (‘02 Springfield, M1A1 Garand or ‘98 Mauser). A detachable magazine is the loading method used on more modern weapons. Faster reloaded, capacity only limited by the size of the re-loadable magazine.

    Ms. Maisch reminds me of my own wife. Brave as Momma Bear when the need arises. We both lived most of our lives in Alaska, where you learn to use the “Flight or Fight” instinct for survival. Whether in the bush or in the “Big” cities of Anchorage or Fairbanks, responding properly to the moment means everything!

    Everyone needs to be aware of the second dreadful tragedy of this day and that is the loss of Judge John Roll, a truly fine man and a very gifted jurist. Let our prayers and thoughts also be with those who lost their lives. Gabby is not a particularly able congresswoman but she is a nice person and certainly didn’t deserve to be a victim of this very disturbed young man. Gun control is meaningless in these circumstances and always useless. We need to reform our mental health care that prevents the long term hospitalization of people like this. If we must point fingers then point them at the ACLU who brought the litigation that prevents the hospitilization of dangerous individuals and at the liberal Supreme Court of the 1970s that emptied our mental hospitals and gave families no place to turn for help with such troubled, damaged people.
    My prayers are for those lost, those injured and Gabby’s recovery.

    I could not believe this interview…First off the lady was humble and trying to not take any credit for doing what she did, which she corrected the Sheriff who had told the story incorrectly. She didn’t run up and take the magazine from the man, she was on the ground and 2 men took him down, and she just grabbed the magazine while they were holding him. All that was fine, and she put up with tons of repetitive questions from Megan, who does what they all do, and just keeps beating a dead horse, but then at the end, when asked if she learned anything from all this??? She starts harping on the Republicans, that it was all their fault, just like the “Sheriff said”. The Sheriff was an idiot, and I caught his leanings from the first interview yesterday. But then this lady blew her whole story by finishing it up with political left wing rhetoric. I’m just sad for the people involved, and for the families. Forget blaming someone other than the nutty shooter. From the sounds of things he is left wing, but I say that, then I am making assumptions that no one has proven yet either. So sorry for all the victims of this idiot man..

      I just wish she’d have left her political opinions out of it. Just like the Sheriff. What does it truly have to do with anything that happened yesterday? So far, it hasn’t been shown to have a thing in the world to really do with Politics. Afterall, Ms. Giffords was the type of person, conservatives love to work with, and she is an elected Democrat. This lady the Sheriff called a “hero” was great…but I was totally put off when she ended that wonderful interview with the politics.

      Rep. Carolyn McCarthy, D-N.Y and Rep. Robert Brady, planed assaults on the constitutional rights of ALL Americans by exploiting this tragic event is the larger of the crimes. The loss of life and those wounded are just tools for them to use in furthering their political agenda, But they never for a moment think of the Americans who have fought for our freedoms. Gave their lives by the thousands and place America above themselves. Remember America… Freedom and Liberty must be earned and protected. Do not let the Progressive use this event to destroy the freedoms our heroes fought and died for.

      It will be interesting to see if Rep. Carolyn McCarthy, D-N.Y and Rep. Robert Brady can site in the constitution to support their assault on our liberties. After all I thought all legislation would be required to do just that or it would not be considered.

      I do not see any confirmation that “Daily Kos” poster known as “Blue Boy” is the AZ shooter. Also, it does not appear to me that the shooter is confirmed to be a leftist. Here is this from the link you posted,

      “It remains to be seen if the gunman involved in today’s shooting of the Congresswoman and a dozen others is directly connected to Daily Kos…”

      It would probably be good if we all just took a deep breath at this point and wait a few days, until we know more: What kind of family does this guy come from? What kind of job/work history does he have? What more can be said about his educational background? Teachers are “mandated reporters” of violent behavior so who dropped the ball? Teachers are actually liable if they fail in that responsibility so who in that chain of reporting dropped the ball? I suspect journalists will be working overtime on Monday to find all this out and more.

      This happened because of the invasion of illegals. Arizona’s – and the feds’ – lack of diligence regarding the border allowed this psychotic creep to walk around loose because so many resources were going to illegals. A decade or two ago, Loughner would have been hospitalized for his own protection.

      Thank God for heroes. A hero is a normal person who takes action during unusual and abnormal circumstances, like the shooting incident in Arizona. My question is, where were the policemen and or sheriff’s deputies ? If none were present at the political rally, why ? If they were present, why did they not respond immediately and kill the shooter before he shot so many bystanders. The Sheriff has tried to place the blame on others when it’s evident that he negelected to perform adequately in his duty and responsibility to police and secure the rally. All the blame rests upon the shooter Jared Loughner. After thought is always more logical than before thought. Some have come forward to say how “ unstable ” Jared Loughner is, including one of his former college professors. But nobody could predict what happened last Saturday in Arizona.
      and he should be severely punishe for his criminal actions.
