Posted on November 11, 2010 at 11:34amBush’s comments during the Matt Lauer interview really sold me. These people felt a religious obligation not to talk until they were under duress. Waterboarding fulfilled that obligation and then they talked. Bush made the right call and Nadler isn’t going to get anywhere on this.

Posted on November 11, 2010 at 12:30pmI tried to email him but he won’t take email from anyone outside his District so I mailed letters to both D.C. and Manhattan. Bascially I nicely requested he not drag the country through this when economically we are in the worst shape we’ve ever been in and people are concerned about taxes and deficit, losing jobs and homes, and our children and grandchildren’s futures. This is not what tax dollars should be used for…now or ever.

Posted on November 11, 2010 at 11:16amJapanese waterboarding is not what we did – they actually drowned some prisoners and beat them while they were waterboarding. Victims of the Japanese had their stomachs extended because of the water they were forced to consume. Our waterboarding, while not pleasant, is done under strict procedures to avoid physical harm to the subject. Bush’s policies kept us safe and avoided other terror attacks – Nadler should actually do his job and work for the American people, not for his vendettas.

Posted on November 11, 2010 at 11:39amI think you hit the nail on the head – waterboard three men that had a mission to destory and kill as many Americans they could – get enough intel from their moments of discomfort in order to avoid another attack. Sure, it is easy to say other methods are just as effective but when it comes to lives we really don’t have the luxury to play games. For all the outrage over this method, even brainless people like Nadler that claim it doesn’t work, the fact remains it did work – we did get intel, we did prevent other attacks.

It is slowly pouring water down the throat until the throat, sinuses and lungs are full of water!! Anyone who does not believe waterboarding is not torture is just being dishonest about the entire situation or has no idea what they are talking about. We executed Japanese who waterboarded our POW, we have signed international treaties saying that it is torture – waterboarding IS TORTURE! and George Bush and Cheney are war criminals – period, end of story!! http://maboulette.wordpress.com

My entire SERE class was water-boarded. Have you ever been through it? I thought not. How active are you in pursuing the war criminals that torture and behead our citizens in the middle east? To folks of your ilk, it is our government that are the biggest war criminals on the planet. Judging from your statement, I would assume that you believe equal justice would be the execution of Bush for war crimes. You are pathetic but it is your right to be so.

Are you maboulette? If so, I noticed your life is dedicated to lame attempts at destroying anything conservative. According to the list of top things to do you listed the following:
1. Commit to Taking Down FOX News. So long as FOX News has any credibility within the Beltway, it will be a pipeline for malicious material that will poison our political culture. Join friends at Color of Change: turnofffox.org/landing?credo.
You are an idiot if you believe the security of our nation and it’s citizens are not job#1. You advocate the silencing of dissent in your #1 objective. I feel you have the right to communicate to the world that you are an idiot in my opinion and so does Fox news. Let’s just throw out the 1st amendment as it was authored by old white slave-owning men.
Why are you posting here? I suspect to troll.

You’re either being intentionally obtuse, or you’re completely ignorant about the methods used by the Japanese when they waterboarded individuals in WWII. There is no comparison between what was done to the handful of people at issue today (doctors are present, to start with) and the crude, deadly practices the Japanese used in the 1940s.

Of course it worked and it saved lives, Does anybody remember the arm turning to get someone to say uncle? same principle.I never quite understood these rules. You can drop a 500 pound bomb on someone, you can use a flame thrower, you can stick a bayonet in somebody, but you can’t pour water over a known terrorists nose to prevent a future attack.I do not condone torture as a punishment or even cruel incarciration of prisoners of war. Use the scenario of somebody kidnapped your child and has them burried under ground with just a few hours of air and you have the kidnapper. what do you do to the kidnapper to get him to reveal the location. You are dam right you would use torture

Posted on November 11, 2010 at 5:49pmI voted for Bush in both elections, but more than a Republican or Bush supporter, I’m a Constitutionalist. Once I learned about waterboarding, which everyone who has experienced it says its torture, and the warrant-less wire tapping, warrant-less searches, no constitutional or geneva convention protections for detainees, indefinite detention for suspected terrorist without even a trial, I quickly lost faith not only in our president, but also in the republican party. Yes, 9 times out of 10 I will pick a republican over a democrat, but as a veteran who swore to defend and uphold the constitution just as the president does, it sickened me to see such a violation of his oath. He should be prosecuted.
