Iran Denies Access to Most Experienced Inspectors

The International Atomic Energy Agency, an arm of the United Nations, reported Monday that Iran has refused to cooperate fully with inspectors trying to determine the purpose of the country’s nuclear energy program.

Citing the agency’s findings, the New York Times reports that Iran has refused access to two of the agency’s most experienced inspectors, and has also refused to answer questions “about the possible existence in Iran of past or current undisclosed nuclear-related activities involving military-related organizations, including activities related to the development of a nuclear payload for a missile.”

The report comes after the United Nations declared in June another round of sanctions against Iran, the fourth such round declared by the U.N. against the country. Those new sanctions have been supported and touted as successful by the Obama administration.

But Iran’s response seems to suggest otherwise. Says the Times, Iran’s actions are “part of a longstanding pattern of reducing access in retaliation for United Nations action,“ and it ”has argued that it has the right to throw out inspectors it does not trust, and said in case after case that the agency … had ‘no legal basis’ to make its requests.” In June, Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad dismissed the new sanctions as a “used handkerchief which should be thrown in the dustbin.”

That highlights a recurring critique of the United Nations: its decrees do not contain the necessary teeth to ensure compliance. Iran, then, continues to do what it wants, which may be forcing the administration to admit the obvious:

The Obama administration said the report demonstrated that Iran “continues its effort to expand its nuclear program and move closer to a nuclear weapons capability,” an acknowledgment that, at least so far, the sanctions have not forced Iran to change its direction.

But forcing Iran to change direction is of the utmost importance to countries worldwide. According to an in-depth article printed in the most recent version of The Atlantic, Jeffrey Goldberg explains that Israel is getting ready to attack Iran because nothing or no one has been able to confirm that Iran’s nuclear program is peaceful, and Iran scoffs at attempts by others to do so. Goldberg’s sources and investigation lead him to believe that a preemptive move by Israel aimed at preventing a nuclear attack by Iran is the only way to ensure security in the region.

And As Iran continues defiance, some words Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu once told Goldberg could be a prophetic clue:

“You don’t want a messianic apocalyptic cult controlling atomic bombs,” he said. “When the wide-eyed believer gets hold of the reins of power and the weapons of mass death, then the world should start worrying, and that’s what is happening in Iran.”

Anybody want to bet the Four Horses of the Apocolypse are on their way? Israel strikes Iran, world turns against Israel, Obamination (has an ominous ring to it, doesn’t it)refuse to commit U.S. troops to aid Israel, and WWIII(or is it IV) starts and goes nuclear. Then is goodbye America. Course the upside is the 1,000 year reign of Jesus the Christ on earth, much to the chagrin of muslims.

You cannot bargain with that regime. They will ignore or break any agreement made and while everyone is wondering what to do, the bomb making will continue. What will everyone who presses for negotiations do when a city gets vaporized? Double their sanctions? A strongly worded letter of concern?

The United Nations is an experiment that failed a long time ago – let’s stop the lunacy and stop funding this group. That’s a big period!

Momma always said – “there are some people you just can’t reason with”. Can we please acknowledge President Mahmood Imanutjob is one of them and take the appropriate steps to protect ourselves and others?

I can’t pretend to have enough knowledge of our enemies or how to wage a war to be an armchair quarterback. However, I know a lot of men and women that have been trained to do this for a living and I trust them with my life! Let’s stop being politically correct when it comes to people that hate us and want to kill us simply for being Americans or Christians. Either be in the Middle East to make a real difference or get our kids out of there! That section of the country is filled with loons!

Since 1979 the problem with RADICAL ISLAM has been about Iran. Oct.23,1989 241 Marines “The Peacekeepers” were blown up while they slept in Beirut, Lebanon by an IRAN back Hezbollah JIHADISTS. Hamas is another military unit of Iran. The Iraq invasion in 2003 was about WMD’s IRAN’S.IRAN’S IRAN’S. Now we have stood by and done nothing again!! It has a standing army and flaunts every new weapon it makes. IRAN wants Israel to attack to begin the “Holy War” it dreams of the 12th Imam returning. The one thing the leaders of the world do is let EVIL like the IRAN JIHADIST , Korea, the Japanese and the Hitler’s of the world have their time to build up militarily. Hitler Japan and Korea all struck out against their neighbors.

You remind me of my brother, a Marine for over 25 years. He indicated that the only way to uproot the evil in that territory would be to make a sandbox out of Iran. I recall debating his assessment with my limited knowledge of the history behind the Islamic movement. Now I know the full and true history, and the last time we spoke, I realized there are no logical counterpoints to make.

These people are crazy about wanting us dead. Not just silenced. Not just tucked away in some corner of the planet where we can live our lives that way we choose. They will not stop until we, the infidels are eliminated from existence. It’s a chilling reality, but it is real!

Iran said they want to wipe Israel off the face of the earth.
Iran believes before messiah comes, chaos in the world must first take place.
Most people believe Iran will use nukes if they get a chance.

    read:
Ahmadinejad is reportedly tied to a radical Islamic society in Iran that believes man can hasten the appearance of the Mahdi (Islam’s messiah) by creating chaos in the world.

“Ahmadinejad has stated that this chaos must take place before the Mahdi can come on the scene.”

2003 December – Iran signs an agreement to allow tougher inspections of its nuclear facilities.

2004 March – IAEA adopts resolution condemning Iran for keeping some of its nuclear activities secret; the resolution stops short of threatening UN sanctions.

2004 June – IAEA report credits Iran with opening up its nuclear programme to inspections but says key issues remain unresolved.

2004 September – IAEA passes resolution calling on Iran to suspend its uranium enrichment programme. Iran rejects proposal claiming its programme is for peaceful purposes only.

2004 November – Iran agrees to suspend uranium enrichment programme in a deal with three European countries.

2005 August – IAEA adopts resolution urging Iran to halt work on processing uranium for enrichment. The move came after Tehran restarted uranium conversion.

2005 September – IAEA finds Iran in non-compliance with nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty.

2006 February – IAEA votes to report Iran to the UN Security Council over its nuclear activities. Iran removed IAEA seals from nuclear equipment in January and said it would resume fuel research.

2007 February – IAEA says Iran is continuing and expanding uranium enrichment in defiance of UN Security Council demands that it suspend these activities.

2007 March – Mohamed ElBaradei visits North Korea, saying the country is positive about rejoining the IAEA.

2007 April – IAEA says Iran has begun making nuclear fuel in its underground uranium enrichment plant and has started up more than 1,300 centrifuge machines.

2007 May – Mohamed ElBaradei says Iran could develop a nuclear weapon in three to eight years if it so chooses.

2007 July – IAEA inspectors verify shutdown of North Korea’s Yongbyon reactor.

2007 July – Iran allows IAEA inspectors to visit the Arak nuclear plant.

2007 October – Iran refuses to allow IAEA inspectors unlimited access to its nuclear sites.

2007 November – IAEA says Iran has supplied transparent data on its past nuclear activities but little information on its current work. US responds to IAEA report by vowing to push for further sanctions against Iran.

2008 January – Mohamed ElBaradei visits Tehran. Iran agrees to clarify all outstanding questions over its nuclear activities within a month.

2008 February – Multiple source documents submitted to IAEA suggest Iran may have continued secret work on nuclear weapons after 2003, the date US intelligence posited work may have ceased.

2008 May – IAEA says Iran withholding information on nuclear programme which remains “matter of serious concern”. It says Iran is operating 3,500 centrifuges that enrich uranium at its plant at Natanz.

2008 June – IAEA inspectors visit Syria to examine building attacked by Israel and subsequently demolished. The CIA says it was nuclear reactor under construction.

2009 September – Iran reveals that it has started work on building a second uranium enrichment plant, near Qom to the south of Tehran. It says the plant is open for IAEA inspection.

2009 November – Iran refuses to accept international uranium enrichment offer. IAEA passes resolution condemning Iran for developing secret enrichment site and calls on it to freeze the project immediately. Iran responds defiantly, vowing to build 10 more enrichment plants.

2010 February – IAEA publishes new report raising serious concerns over Iran’s nuclear programme.

2010 March – IAEA head Yukiya Amano accuses Iran of refusing to cooperate.

I’m not sure why Iran is in the center of it all, I‘m not sure why we’re not lumping North Korea in there too, but either way.. President Ahmadinejad’s agenda revolves around the Mahdi.

At this point i don’t see that peace is possible with these people. They want a fight and are clearly offering to fight. They just offered $1000 reword for any killing of an American soldier. The nutless wonder in the white house will not even believe they mean what they say. Iran funds and rewards terror and the people of Iran need to be told that they need to take control of their government or they themselves will pay a horrible price. Hundreds of thousands died in the firebombings of japan before a single nuke was dropped on them. When we finished they knew they could not win. Iran needs to learn that they can not win a fight against us. We do not want to destroy anything but the choice has simply come down to them or us.

Clearly, Obama’s approach of strategic negotiations and appeasement are working but we are too stupid to see it. All of that effort by previous administrations have been wasted in under 20 months by the great uniter. You go booey…. A nuclear armed Iran will destabilize the entire Persian Gulf and if you think gas is expensive now, just wait until Iran starts to threaten oil tankers on top of Obama’s domestic oil production destruction plan all collide. We will all be driving horse and buggies and burning our furniture to keep warm since most states now have laws forbidding fire wood from being transported across county lines due to some bug. It now will cost me three times the price of electricity if I choose to burn wood. How nice.
