Iran Linked to 9/11 Attacks in New Federal Lawsuit

A new lawsuit, filed in a Manhattan court as the nation prepares to observe the 10th anniversary of America’s worst terror attack, alleges that the Iranian government played a key role in organizing the infamous 9/11 attacks.

The evidence for these bold, new charges comes, apparently, from three Iranian defectors who previously worked for Iran’s spy services. These individuals will serve as key witnesses in a case that is sure to nab headlines. Watch the extensive CBN report from Erick Stakelbeck on this lawsuit, below:

The new legal challenge, filed by families of 9/11 victims, accuses the Middle Eastern nation of having foreknowledge of the event — even going as far as to assist in organizing travel plans for the hijackers. This charge comes as the U.S. government has been diligent in pursuing al Qaeda members, including Osama bin Laden and Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, among others.

According to the lawsuit, the man at the center of the previously known (and alleged) connection between the al Qaeda and Iran is Imad Mugniyeh. The terrorist is known to have a history of participating in attacks directed at American interests. CBN highlights expert opinion from Janice Kephart, national security policy director for the Center for Immigration Studies:

“You have travel from Beirut with Imad Mugniyah, travel into Iran with Imad Mugniyah, who apparently now, the defectors have told us, was actually in the meetings planning 9-11.”

Lawsuit: 9/11 Families Tie Iran to September 11 Terror Attack

Kephart isn’t merely a talking head; she’s highly experienced. She worked on the bipartisan 9/11 commission and, thus, was involved in the examination of the hijackers’ relationship with both Iran and Hezbollah. She continues:

“That was a policy by the Iranian government to let al Qaeda through. The border officials were told to let al Qaeda through.”

Additionally, a former CIA operative, Clare Lopez, who is working on this new lawsuit, told CBN the following:

“Repeatedly since then [the 1979 U.S. embassy standoff], Iran has mounted attacks against U.S. civilians and the military, and many Americans have died.

Repeatedly since then, Iran has mounted attacks against U.S. civilians and the military, and many Americans have died. To this day, Iran continues to provide material and direct support to militias in Iraq and to the Taliban, which are killing American troops in those areas of operation every single day.”

While the 9/11 Commission recommended that America further investigate Iran’s potential involvement in 9/11, this never happened. Below, find a portion of the report that addresses this issue explicitly:

We have found no evidence that Iran or Hezbollah was aware of the planning for what later became the 9/11 attack. At the time of their travel through Iran, the al Qaeda operatives themselves were probably not aware of the specific details of their future operation.

After 9/11, Iran and Hezbollah wished to conceal any past evidence of cooperation with Sunni terrorists associated with al Qaeda. A senior Hezbollah official disclaimed any Hezbollah involvement in 9/11.128

We believe this topic requires further investigation by the U.S. government.

It will be intriguing to see the evidence presented in court. For years, critics have charged that Iran was involved in 9/11. Now, despite the government’s lack of action in this area, these charges will likely be given proper attention.

Oh, I get it. So Bush hired these “defectors” to lie about Iran’s involvement so 10 years later Obama would invade Iran? Give me a break, the only BS around here is yours.

Serious charges! Why? Tell me where to “do my homework?” I‘ll be glad to research it as long as your sources don’t come from 9/11 truther websites. The fact that you’d blame Israel before Iran given the history tells me to question your judgement, and leads me to suspect that you just hate Jews. I’m not surprised they were involved. They have their hands in everything over there and are actively involved in killing our troops and have been for 10 years. When Obama had a chance to promote a democratic uprising during the “Green Revolution” he said and did nothing…almost as if he didn’t want a deomcratice revolution in Iran. Strangely, he couldn’t wait to get Mubarrak ousted from Egypt, even though he was one of our closest allies in the region and held the peace with Israel. Is it simply incompetency? I think not.

Thanks Gonzo. Some people don’t read what you say before they spout off. Google Earth that Nantanz facility. Out in the middle of the freaking dessert. May be some folks around there, but a tactical Nuke would limit the collateral damage to civilians. Their citizens have to be warned that they are in danger living near that place. Give them 2 days to get out of there and then light up that place.

The empty suit that is BHO continues to be just that and if his base becomes even more bitter he can certainly kiss it all good-bye.
