Iran Revolutionary Guard Commander Becomes New President of OPEC

Iran Oil Minister Rostam Ghasemi New Head of OPECIf you were worried about foreign oil before and production gouging by OPEC before, just wait until you hear who‘s the organization’s new president.

The Guardian is reporting that Rostam Ghasemi, who on Wednesday became Iran’s oil minister, is now the new head of OPEC. But not only is he from the U.S.-hating Iran, he’s also been sanctioned by the U.S., the E.U. and Australia and has his assets blacklisted.

The Revolutionary Guard and Iran couldn’t be happier.

“The clever and decisive vote of Iranian MPs for engineer Ghasemi to become the oil minister is a meaningful and crucial response to the attacks against the guards from the west’s media empire,” Ramedan Sharif, the head of the revolutionary guards public relations’ unit, said, according to Iran’s semi-official Fars news agency.

Still, there are some in Iran who are worried, including Ali Motahari, a prominent conservative MP who has previously threatened to impeach Ahmadinejad.

“The integration of the guard, as a military force, in political and economic power is not in the interests of the system,” Motahari told the parliament. “In neighboring countries, military officials are distancing themselves from politics and power, while it’s the opposite in Iran.”

Because Iran took over the leadership of OPEC last October, whoever becomes Iran’s oil minister automatically becomes the president of the oil cartel.

Even more reason why the US needs to lift all bans on drilling oil, I’ll repeat that “All Bans on drilling for oil”. The planet dies in 5 billion years regardless of what we do, if we don’t want to be enslaved to a dictatorship in the future then this is the route that we need to take.

All of this goes to show that we really need to go after our own oil. Sure it will take a decade or so to be pumping out enough to put a dent in our need for foreign oil. However, just the knowledge that we are going after it could dramatically effect oil prices based on projections. I recall when Bush symbolically lifted the offshore drilling ban on the Atlantic, prices went down that same day. It is difficult to believe that Liberals have this country’s interests at heart with their agenda. They ask what is best for the world (in what their twisted view of the world should be) rather than what is best for our nation. Sure we want to take the world into consideration, but we shouldn’t destroy ourselves in the process.

I remember a Palestine student I went to college with, sitting there saying to me “you Americans are so silly, you educate us for free, you try to instill in us -through your education system- your beliefs and laws, and you think you understand us, what you don’t understand is that we will use your benevolence, good will and laws to defeat you and drive you from our lands and take over yours too.” He was a nice guy, smart too. I had a similar experience with a Lebanese girl in university… But the difference she was saying 9/11 was justified. It was just poor downtrodden freedom fighting people fighting against more powerful imperialistic and totalitarian US government… So they were the Underdogs, and freedom fighters fighting against the Man!

She also believed that Palistinians were justified at attacking Israel, because Israel had all the wealth, power, and nukes. So they were fighting for equal rights. Basically her view was its ok for the ‘downtrodden people’ to uprise and use violence to defeat people who control more power, or could retaliate with more power…

Believe me I wanted to throttle her…

Then there was that other guy a turk, who believed the only way for the world to have peace, would be if there was a caliphate (ruling out of Turkey, where Mohammad’s clothing and other artifacts are kept). He was trying to tell me that caliphate was like the “your Pope”. I tried to explain to him, that I’m not Catholic, and neither do I want the Catholic church to dictate my religious views, just as much as I wouldn’t want some Caliph dictating my religious views either… I was thinking what he was suggesting was creepy… Since it basically sounded like the Pope and the Caliph should be ruling the world together!

This was several months before Glenn started talking about a caliphate…

Also – Ken Salazar as the Sec to The Department of Interior – was force to admit in a congressional hearing that he had altered the report from obama’s own panel of experts – by claiming he “only modified it”.

Salazar was also forced to admit – “on-record” – that the report that he “modified” was used by the president to halt all oil drilling.

A federal racketeering lawsuit – involving RICO statutes – with a legal determination – of a CRIME against The US Constitution – could be then used to remove Obama from office.

POTUS has no constitutional authority to halt oil drilling, had US Government employee (Salazar) participate in a criminal conspiracy to falsify report = US government records – as a COVER-UP to what he was actually doing – HOSTILE GOVERNMENT TAKEOVER of another US industry.

actually, Beets are one of the alternatives to corn for making ethanol. They are high in natural sugars and when beet juice is fermented into alcohol it does just as good a job as corn.

they are an alternative to corn because a ‘bumper’ crop (ha ha) wouldn’t threaten the worldwide supply or price of corn, and it wouldn’t appear that we are burning up our food in our cars.

another option is a type of switchgrass or another grass that grows quickly and the pulp can be fermented. Brazil uses a tall grass for their ethanol blend. In Europe they use this tall grass directly as fuel by burning it. It has a high energy content and the carbon output is a little less than coal.

      can’t beet it.

This will turn out well!!! And here we are about 5 to 8 years away from having any kind of oil production on our soil to help us out of this mess and with a commander and moron that pushes the EPA to ban, block, and stop all oil production in the US. Add to this the DOT pushing to control all farm equipment with stiff regulation and where do you think this country is headed? The EPA just put the emissions levels so low that even Yellow Stone Nation Park does not comply and it is expected to raise gas prices by a dollar in the next few months. Food, gas, regulations, spending and a Congress held hostage by the Dems…..war anybody?

Get ready for the tap from OPEC lands to be reduced or cut off in flowing to America; and when set with the utter insanity of the administrations energy transformation of the land — especially the no new drilling going on, we are sunk — MEGA SUNK!!!

Once again, we can see the simple reality of the President gone insane with his progressive ideals and movements; and the windows opened for our enemies to put the pressure even more upon us and help the admin cave everything in.

If an embargo comes, in some form or another; look for a prompt emergency executive order to be released near instantly federalizing oil and energy, and then it will be strictly rationed.

Obama has declared before “of course your electrical bills will by of necessity skyrocket”, and here we are at the time.

Only problem is even if we went “full bore” we couldn’t produce enough oil domestically to meet our needs. We currently use about 21M BPD. We produce about 5M BPD and the highest we had ever produced domestically was just under 10M BPD. According to the IEA the U.S. has about 22 Billion barrels worth of proven reserves, that equals less than 3 years supply assuming me maintain our current rate of consumption. Its not just a matter of drilling more wells; the quantity of oil we need simply isn’t there.
We will never be energy independent until we get away from oil powered vehicles and machinery.
