A top Iranian nuclear official said the sole reactor at the Bushehr nuclear power plant has reached full capacity. (AP)
TEHRAN, Iran (AP) — A senior Iranian nuclear official says the sole reactor at the country’s Bushehr nuclear power plant has reached full capacity.
Iranian deputy nuclear chief Mohammad Ahmadian said Saturday the reactor was brought to its “full capacity of 1,000 megawatts” Friday evening. The reactor went into operation for the first time last year at minimum capacity.
The Islamic Republic built the nuclear power plant in the southern Iranian port of Bushehr with Russian help.
The facility is a cornerstone of Iran’s drive to become a technological leader among Muslim nations, with efforts such as a space program and long-range missile development.
The United States and some of its allies believe the Bushehr plant is part of an Iranian attempt to develop nuclear weapons. Iran denies the accusation.

I KNEW They’d Say That!
How did I know? Because you can’t kill 2 BILLION PEOPLE without nuclear weapons:
http://www.endtime.com/blog/2-billion-to-die-in-world-war-3/
“2 Billion to Die in World War 3 … ‘And the four angels were loosed, which were prepared for an hour, and a day, and a month, and a year, for TO SLAY THE THIRD PART OF MEN.’ (Revelation 9:15) … This time, there won’t be 8.2 million dead [WW1]. There won’t be 52 million dead [WW2]. This time 2 BILLION human beings will be annihilated from the face of the earth! We are talking about 40 times the fatalities of World War II! … According to Revelation 9:14, the prophesied war will originate from the area of the Euphrates River [all ISLAMIC dominated territory!]. The Euphrates River is located in Iraq, Turkey, Syria, and Iran.
“When will it happen?
“According to the biblical prophetic timeline given in scripture, four major prophetic fulfillments will occur at approximately the same time.
* The international community’s adoption of a peace plan for the Middle East
* The building of Israel’s temple on the Temple Mount
* Preparations being made for the implementation of the mark of the beast
* The Euphrates River War”
The blood-thirsty death-cult ideology of ISLAM does have a place on the world stage … a place of very soon coming INFAMY.

Posted on September 1, 2012 at 3:17pmIf Obama controls healthcare in an aging society then he effectively control its death rate. If he controls the death rate then he can effectively control the amount of revenue collected as a result of the death tax (the federal estate tax). This is a tax that is assessed on the value of all of your assets upon your death including your house, cars, furniture, business property, machinery and inventory, stocks, bonds and real estate. This is a big part of his hidden agenda. This is the pot of gold Obama is after.
Report Post »In 2013, the exemption drops from $5 million to $1 million. Under an Obama 2nd term that exemption will fall much further and the death tax rate will climb enormously. This is how he is going to “spread the wealth around”.

Posted on September 1, 2012 at 7:01pmI don’t think that building a nuclear power plant is an aggressive gesture. There’s nothing wrong with wanting electricity, is there? I’m concerned with them building a bomb too, but the last intelligence report I‘ve seen said they hadn’t made up their mind to pursue nuclear weapons. I’m actually more concerned with making a rash decision and drawing Russia and China into a conflict. Don‘t you think if we attacked Iran preemptively they’d jump in and fight with their ally? Do you think anything good can come from a third world war? I don’t.

Posted on September 1, 2012 at 11:10pmNope, I think we ought to leave them alone, and if they attack us we should kick their ass. I’m not buying all the propaganda from the media, UN and CFR though. I’ve heard it before. Back in the 90′s when I was there, and the last round of lies. It will be cold day in hell when I trust these people again. Iran is militarily weak and they don’t have the capability to project war across the Pacific. Question is why do you trust the folks that have such a crappy record in their analysis? I mean unless you‘re high up in the intelligence community you’re getting your information from the CFR owned media, who gets their information from the UN. You believe they’re credible sources without a selfish agenda? I think they’re liars propping up the military industrial complex, the bankers and internationalists at the expense of folks like me and my brother-in-arms. Our foreign policy has been an failure, yet you want to continue it and poke fun at folks that want to change course. Suicide is now the leading cause of death for our active duty members, and 18 veterans a day are killing themselves. Do you care about them and their families? Yeah, but you’re right… let’s borrow a couple trillion bucks from China to bomb and rebuild another third world country that might someday decide to pursue a nuclear weapon.

My husband calls me defender of the universe because I can see good in just about anyone. I understand that we have created many of these world issues…to say or think otherwise is foolish… the U.S. is not perfect. We have and continue to make massive mistakes, but ultimately we are a force of good. If you see Israel as the aggressor in the middle east, I would say that propaganda machine has influenced you to believe this. I am not exonerating Israel for all its done, just like I do not exonerate the US, however I have done hours and hours of research on the Israeli issue and cannot find the evidence that proves this theory that they are the tyrannical ones. Why are there refugees for over 40 years? Where else in the world does someone win a war and the losing side just camps out? Those refugees are there because their fathers refused to live in a Jewish state…they could…they could live, work, be a part of parliament, vote…etc, but they CHOSE not to. What did the aggressor nations do? They mainly denied the people access to live in their ‘Muslim’ lands. Sad but true. But basically, I will not support sitting at a table with a nation that treats women, homosexuals, Christians and Jewish people with such violence and then say…OK you are just a normal nation that deserves respect.

If you’re not pro-Israel in this country you wind up getting being essentially black balled. I‘ve always maintained that I don’t really know what is going on over there and still feel that way. I’ve heard both sides of the argument, but I’m unable to sort it all out. As for Iran, I’m not happy with their leadership, but their people have done nothing to me. I’d prefer to open up trade and flood them with western influence in hopes that the good folks over there take power. I‘m against attacking them preemptively because it’s against the just war theory of Christianity. Leaving them alone would be the best strategy I can think of at the moment. I don’t believe all the stuff put out there by the media. It’s nothing more than war propaganda. You can’t go saying that just because I supported Ron Paul during the primaries that I believe Israel is bad and Iran is good. He’s never said anything of the sort.

Posted on September 1, 2012 at 11:44amI would normally have no problem with any country developing and protecting themselves, however this is not a rogue nation because they have a different ideology than lets say…most western nations…no, they are the epitome of a deranged society and have threatened us and our allies on numerous occasions. That they provide weapons to other rogue nations…so do we, but we don’t allow our men to marry nine year olds, hang homosexuals, stone women or cut off the hands of three years old because they are hungry and stole and apple, this country DOES and for that I cannot trust people that have no value in human life to wield such a powerful stick. It is as simple as that, people may want to pretend that they are just like any other nation, but they are not. Do other horrific countries have nukes…yep, but adding one more to the block does not make sense. If Iran stopped this tyrannical mind set and would treat their people with a bit level headedness then I can see where open dialogue can begin, but until then I see no other choice but to halt these nuclear ambitions. To see it otherwise is understandable but not practical, no matter the fall out afterwards.

Armchair foreign policy experts! Where did you get all this expertise? I saw that you used the term “neo-con” in another post so that tells me pretty much all I need to know. AJ. You have no idea what you’re talking about. Iran seeks nuclear weapons to dominate the entire middle east. It is strategic. Nor do you understand the ramifications for the world. A nuclear armed Iran also means the eventual destruction of Israel. It really is game over for Israel. It’s just a matter of time ounce Iran becomes an official member of the club. In the years to come as Iran’s influence grows in the region, Israel will have diminishing options and then it becomes a waiting game for Iran. Understand that Israel is already in check and this will lead to checkmate. Nukes may never fly but served their purpose.

Report Post »We armed the Afghans so they would fight our enemy, the Soviets, for us. The Soviets knew we were behind it and they knew that there was nothing they could do about it. But while they were ousting an invader, Hamas and Hezbollah seek to cause civilian deaths by the thousands. Al Qaeda became anti-west after we stopped funding them and they were then sponsored primarily by Afghanistan’s Taliban. You‘ll notice we didn’t take kindly to that. If our war in Afghanistan was just then Israel’s conflict with Iran is justified for the same reasons. The only reason Israel has waited until the threat was nuclear was that such a campaign would be costly and the threat wasn’t significant enough to warrant that response. With a nuclear Iran the potential cost of not acting is much higher and the alternative is now more favorable. It may seem crude to put this in economic terms but these are things that true leaders must consider in these kind of conflicts. Do you simply fight the enemy while cutting off support, or is it better to take out their source of power in order to make them toothless? Israel has been content to simply accept Iranian support for terrorists as a given because they felt it was an acceptable risk. Iran disrupted that status quot and that’s what has lead us to this point.

Find your solace in the rants of “Individualism” if that brings you comfort-you and your anger do not confront me.

Posted on September 1, 2012 at 9:55pm@Tzion, It’s not really different from their perspective. They see the folks coming to Israel from Europe and Russia as invaders as we saw the Soviets in Afghanistan as invaders. I’m not excusing their actions any more than ours. I’m not quite sure what to think about the European settlers. Isn’t that a large source of contention among the Arabs and Persians, and what are you thoughts on that?

Posted on September 2, 2012 at 12:21am@WindyDualism, For someone who just joined a couple of days ago, you sure have a great familiarity of all the folks that supported Ron Paul during the primaries. Which RP hater are you, and don‘t you think it’s lame that you have to create multiple accounts to spread your anti-Paul rhetoric? Someone got a new free e-mail account solely to troll the Blaze to attempt to intimidate Libertarians and Constitutionalists. How pathetic.

Posted on September 1, 2012 at 8:26amJust kick-starting our day, y’all.
PRAYING ON, absolutely, and with great delight knowing that our GOD IS IN CHARGE.
Bet HE’d like to hear more from HIS kids about how great HE IS and how much we LOVE and TRUST HIM.
If you haven’t been in touch with HIM lately, it would be good to do that. Time seems to be running short.
Love you BLAZERS! GOD BLESS AND PROTECT IN JESUS’ MIGHTY NAME, amen.

Posted on September 1, 2012 at 8:37amThank you granny, it is a beautifull morning here in Ohio-though it may change quickly-I spent Friday evening doing what grandparents, and parents, etc do across this land, watching high school football and yelling and clapping for the fine young people of our nation. (we won). I am afraid for these good things, I know what Iran has in mind for the world. It’s such a pretty morning-maybe Obama will go golfing. I’m praying we have time for a new president to put some of the sword shakeing away for awhile.

Posted on September 1, 2012 at 8:01amIt’s just a matter of time now, before we are at war with most of the Middle East. We have been set up to fail by this administration and now our only to survive is to elect Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan to the WH. BHO must go as POTUS! Question is; Is it too late? Can America be saved and this wonderful experiment continue? May God Bless America and Israel.

Posted on September 1, 2012 at 8:18amIs it too late?
To slow down their program, no.
To keep the inevitable from happening (aquisition of a working device): almost yes.
In the case of a working nuclear device, the only way to ensure it could never be used is to remove them from the hands of Iran’s government itself physically (we go and snatch them up). The fact is that since the US developed the first fission bomb in the 40s, the genie has been out of the bottle.
This reactor will give to Iran a sustained ability for about ten years to generate enough enriched uranium to build between five to ten devices per year; unless the reactor is crippled or goes away for good…even then it will only delay the programs for a few years.

Posted on September 1, 2012 at 9:04amsometimes i think that Ahmadinejad is like the guy that pulls out a gun with no intention of using it.
and i understand that being a ““martyr ”” is a big deal to those mooselims, so if Israel strikes it will set the middle east on fire and insure a vengeful caliphate.
and wasn’t it the middle east that invented the game of Chess ?…Since Israel said they wanted to strike iran before our Nov. election, Egypt has allowed iranian war ships to enter the Mediterranean.

Posted on September 1, 2012 at 7:55amSooooooooo .. what’s the moral of the story? I know nothing about nuclear power. Ok,so it’s reached 1,000 megawatts. How does that effect the U.S. or Israel? Again, and the point is?

Posted on September 1, 2012 at 8:14am1000 Mwt Reactor: generates in one year of operation an average amount of enriched uranium for weapons development to craft between five to ten 20kt devices. Also smaller amounts of plutonium are forged within the core elements as well; allowing eventually for the fusion “H bomb” to be sought.
Understand this reactor is not built for power alone; it is built for the GROWTH of a nuclear weapons program.
Search through the archives of the Strategic Studies Institute for articles and publications (free and for download as PDF files) on Iran, Middle East arms race, the Arab Bomb and the like.
Study them as I have and then tell me this reactor falls into the category of “So what is it to us?”

Posted on September 1, 2012 at 9:21am@ Snow .. I KNOW Iran wants nothing more than to wipe the U.S. and Israel off the face of the map.. I KNOW that. I‘ve heard for several years now up until quite recently that they’re getting very close to having the capability to do so. I think last I heard they would have the ability to do so within a year.. Is this article insinuating their ability and plans have escalated? If so, why don’t they state that. Is this why Israel is seriously considering a preemtive strike? If so, why don’t they mention that. My point was .. the article seems incomplete at the very least.

Posted on September 1, 2012 at 10:38amPerhaps you need to chill out. You’re getting all sweaty and frothy-mouthed. Maybe the story is the story. To do the lib propaganda media thing would be to embelish the story and make it less than truthful. Give the Blaze credit for reporting the story. After all, isn’t that what news organizations do?

Posted on September 1, 2012 at 1:32pmHere’s what I took from it: Their reactor is up and running now. That means they can enrich uranium. That means we know they will produce nuclear tipped missiles. That means we’re either going to let them do it or bomb the facility. IT’S TIME TO MAKE A DECISION.
That’s what I took from the story. I didn’t need them to explain all that. I’m already aware.
