Iranian Guard Official: Our Missiles Can Already Reach U.S. and Israeli Bases

TEHRAN, Iran (AP) — A senior Revolutionary Guard commander says Iran is capable of producing even longer range missiles than the ones it has now but won’t make them because Israel and U.S. bases in the Gulf are already within its reach.

Amir Ali Hajizadeh says the Guard’s arsenal includes missiles with a range of up to 1,250 miles (2,000 kilometers), which puts Israel, U.S. bases in the Persian Gulf and parts of southeastern and eastern Europe within Iran’s reach.

Hajizadeh claimed on Tuesday that Iran “possess the technology” but has “no intention of producing” the missiles with the over-2,000-kilometer range. He gave no details.

The Guard on Monday kicked off 10 days of war games, its latest show of military force amid a standoff with the West over Iran’s nuclear program.

Granted our current administration will do all they can not to respond, however, if you do manage to hit one of our bases then Obama will be forced to respond……so please go ahead and launch one.     A couple of months ago Venezuela and Iran made an agreement that would allow Iran to build missile launch pads in Venezuela for Iran’s “defense” against any country that might attack them and Iran’s missiles would not be able to reach them from Iran. Who do you think they are talking about? Within the last week Iran has said that they have every right to build nuclear weapons. They also are continuously saying that Israel and the United States needs to be destroyed.

    If a man is standing in front of you loading a revolver while telling you that as soon as he is done he is going to kill you, do you draw your own firearm and shoot him first, or wait until he fires at you before you shoot back if you can? If someone tells me he intends to kill me I tend to believe them.

Why do you think the switch is being made between Pinatta and Petraus…..The correlation between the two with the CIA now having a top military guy and the Defense now having a top CIA running things.       the system is called Iron DOME and won’t work against the Iranian threat.
      it’s only a short range missiles defensive system. will work against Hamas or Hizbullah but not Iran.
      unfortunately.

      You do understand though that if we fired enough nukes to turn Iran into glass that the radiation would backfire and the fallout would probably hit the entire middle east, including our own bases and Israel. Pakistan would probably be affected (not that they are true ‘allies’ anyways). If it reaches china or India who knows what would happen.

      The governments have been lying about the full extent of the effects.

      He’ll if the two atom bombs had long term effects, and they did. See higher number of birth defects, Japan’s nuclear problems are going to be a whole lot worse in the long term.

      A neutron bomb sent to the center of Amihnutjob’s compound would pribably be a better choice. Less residual radiation (less chance of fallout), leaves The buildings intact. The only problem as I rcall it leaves no bodies to identify. But at least it saves on cleanup.

      The UN is worthless, aren’t they suppose to handle this, look at what they did with Iraq… nothing. When their nuclear inspectors were kicked out did they do anything, no they simply talked. My father-in-law said they are worthless because they have no strength behind them. Their peacekeepers simply walk around with billy clubs no guns, except in very extreme cases. That was when he was there on loan from the Air Force.

      Not sure how Obummer would handle being attacked on one of our foreign. I suspect the first thing that would happen is he would declare martial law and get us under control and suspend government while he declares war. Then he would send the troops to Texas first to stop jobs from being made.

      Iran‘s military capabilities aren’t confined to surface to surface missiles. They bought…and improved upon….Russia’s Sunburn shore to ship missiles that zoom along at 2.5 mach speed, just above the suface of the water.

      They are undetectable by radar and make violent end maneuvers just before they hit the target, making defensive saturation shooting ineffective. But, I doubt targets of these missiles would have time to man the guns after learning the missile was fired, because it only takes a split second for them to hit a target in the Persian Gulf.

      Iran very likely has the Anti-aircraft S-300 missiles from Russia which can’t be defended against by any known aircraft today, including the US and Israel, which could very well explain why there have been no attacks by either country.

      Too, Iran unlike Iraq could never be effectively land invaded due to the tremendously rough, mountainous terrain in a lot of the country. Far worse than Afghanistan.

      While the US could win an all-out war with Iran, if it attacks the country this will be the first war the US has ever fought since WWII where the enemy is far from a pushover as all the others have been up till now, especially since the US military has been weakened considerably by political correctness. It’s no longer the rough, tough bunch we have had in prior years.
