Iranians Chant Death to Israel, Death to America During Nuclear Scientists Funeral

TEHRAN, Iran (The Blaze/AP) — Thousands of mourners chanted “Death to Israel” and “Death to America” on Friday during the funeral of a slain nuclear expert whom Iranian officials accuse the two nations of killing in a bomb blast this week as part of a secret operation to stop Iran’s nuclear program.

“I will kill, kill, those who killed my brother,” demonstrators shouted, according to the Washington Post. Some carried posters depicting President Barack Obama with a Star of David on his forehead and “terrorist” written underneath.

The assassination of Mostafa Ahmadi Roshan has raised calls in Iran for retaliation against the U.S. and Israel, and an independent news website Friday said Iran is preparing a covert counteroffensive against the West.

Roshan, a chemistry expert and a director of the Natanz uranium enrichment facility in central Iran, was killed in a brazen daylight assassination when two assailants on a motorcycle attached a magnetic bomb to his car Wednesday in Tehran. The killing bore a strong resemblance to earlier killings of scientists working on the Iranian nuclear program.

State TV showed thousands of people carrying Roshan’s coffin through central Tehran before it was taken to a north cemetery for burial. As it marched, the crowd chanted “death to terrorists.”

Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who has the final say on all state matters, called Roshan’s killing a “cowardly assassination” and accused the U.S. and Israel of being behind the attack. He vowed Thursday that the perpetrators and those who ordered the attack would be punished.

U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton has denied any American role in the slaying and the U.S administration condemned the attack. Israeli officials, in contrast, have hinted at covert campaigns against Iran without directly admitting involvement.

The assassination was carried out a day after Israeli military chief Lt. Gen. Benny Gantz was quoted as telling a parliamentary panel that 2012 would be a “critical year” for Iran – in part because of “things that happen to it unnaturally.”

That prompted Hossein Shariatmadari, director of the hardline Iranian daily newspaper Kayhan, to ask why Iran did not avenge Roshan by striking Israel.

The independent news website, irannuc.ir, quoted an unidentified security official as saying Iran is preparing a covert counteroffensive against the West in retaliation for the bomb blast. It suggested the retaliation could include assassinations abroad.

“Iran’s intelligence community is in a very good position to design tit-for-tat operations to retaliate for assassinations carried out by Western intelligence services,” the official said, according to the website. “Iran’s response will be extraterritorial and extra-regional. It follows the strategy that none of those who ordered or carried out (the attacks) should feel secure in any part of the world.”

The website’s report was also carried by the semiofficial Fars news agency, which is close to the elite Revolutionary Guard.

      “Probably”, this was the work of Israel. But, first, some background here.
      Roshan is another in a long line of Muslims bent on making the Islamic world a ‘major’ nuclear power.

      Islamists actually obtained nuclear blueprints from a Dr (PhD) Abdul Qadeer Khan, who worked as a technician at a ‘secret’ uranium enrichment plant (Urenco) in the Netherlands.
      Khan translated German centrifuge technology into Dutch for Urenco. After he completed, he fled to Pakistan.
      Khan was a mettallurgist, not a scientist. The actuall development of Pakistans’ bombs was credited to Dr. Sultan Mahmood, who designed the Kushab reactor in Pakistan. The technology has been spread to many countries through knowledge learned/stolen by Khan.
      Where did the actual ingredients come from, you ask?
      None other than the former Republics of the Soviet Union, naturally. As Russia disintegrated, weapons security was compromised. However, the US and Belgium played a role in Khan getting the technology from Belgium to Pakistan.
      Dutch surveillance suspected Khan may flee, and contacted the CIA b4 making an arrest. The CIA prevented the Dutch from arresting Khan, opting to catch bigger fish by following him.
      SInce then, Khan’s stolen technology has been sold to many nations, Iran was only one of them.

      If you think Roshan’s death is that important you would be wrong. Nuclear ingredients and weapons are in S America, and some of those weapons are coming across our border. Search ‘suitcase bomb

      Now people, get a grip. Israel and the US are over there bombing bridges and other assorted places as well as killing people in attacks like this one. You are cheering this on. You scream about them chanting after just an attack. What was done and is going on in Iran by the US and Israel is terrorism, pure and simple. You don’t like it when they do it to us, but when we do it to them it‘s ’justified’ somehow. What a bunch of hypocrites.
      You haven’t really stopped to think have you. You really should understand that Iran is NOT enriching for military purposes. The IAEA’s own report states that time after time. You should read Iran’s response to the IAEA. It’s on the IAEA site. The President of Iran is NOT their ‘leader’ anymore than the Queen is of England. The Mullah’s are.       Without doubt…..when you are threatened, you tend to become defensive or aggressive.
      Israel has been threatened long enough with annihilation, and it is at the point to which they have to take aggressive action.

      You make it seem as Israel is completely unprovoked in attempting to slow the march towards its destruction by fanatical Muslims. Many times the Israeli’s have attempted cease-fires, to no avail. I would liken it to New Jersey agreeing to multiple cease-fires with Delaware, only to have Delaware continue to fire rockets shortly after each agreement is signed. Then, suppose Delaware develops nuclear capability? What do you do then?

      Yes, Israel has had nukes for some time, but have they used them? Wouldn’t they have probable cause, given the “death to Israel” chants from Islamists?

      I agree, to an extent, with you premise that the US would not take kindly to an attack on our shores. Remember, though, that we did not bomb the entire Muslim world after 9/11, nor has our head of state called for the eradication of an entire nation, as have the Iranians.

      It will only take ONE unhinged individual to start a nuclear event. The more Islamist’s that have the capability, the more likely that event will happen. To use the justification that “since we have it, they should be allowed to have it” is just plain crazy.

    Really, the more I think about this, the more unforgivable this is. We could execute the ayatohlloas and askminijad and be done with this, but we are killing scientists and their drivers? WTF???

    There are THOUSANDS of scientists. Are we not terrorists for doing this?

    We are basically saying “we will kill your pawns, but let you live”. Do YOU espouse such behavior? If you have a fight with your neighbor, do you kill his children?

      Good point postman. I agree in part. However, if we must go to war, we must go Roman. Destroy everything and leave a note on the largest piece of rubble we can find that reads “Don’t mess with us ever again”. Then we leave the place in a smoldering ruin and let them fend for themselves. That is the way you wage war and if my neighbor attacks me, you can bet his children will suffer if they stay in his house when I retaliate. The President of Iran has said he will wipe Israel and America off the map. I take him at his word. I would never provoke them or cause them to fear me but rest assured, if they attack, I will respond. There for, if we must go to war with Iran (or anyone else), we should leave the country a smoldering ruin. I pray we never have to go to war against anyone but if we do, we should go in quickly, violently and without mercy. No rules of engagement. If they are a citizen of the nation of our enemy then they are considered a combatant. We should not stay and rebuild them. No money, no aid, no nothing but utter destruction and applied without mercy. If we must go we must go Roman. This is the only way the crazies in the world will stop doing what they are doing. Any nation who really hates us would never show our civilians any mercy, they proved that when they flew airliners into our buildings and murdered three thousand civilians. They either leave us alone and hate us from afar or they die. Those should be the only choice

      The Iranians are saying the exact same thing to the United States. They probably appreciate seeing Americans agree with Osama bin Laden; all of the people who were killed on 9/11 had it coming because they were citizens of this country, right?

      If the U.S. did carry out this attack, Iran is justified in killing your family. I am sure they appreciate knowing they have your support.

    I hope Iran can keep from reacting. I do not want another war. Imagine if the US put this much effort to helping people and making the world a better place. There is not a single country in the world that could match our military. Why go bully other countries? If you are worried about Iran makeing a nuclear bomb, they are not. Iran allows the IAEA to supervise their nuclear activities. Why are we antagonizing them?

      Dr. Paul says quit playing the NWO, UN game of “terrorizing” other countries and they will leave us alone, of course now it may be too late but your understanding is skewed. All, I repeat, All presidential candidates and most of our “reps” want us to go into another war, how many soldiers will die this time, how many “nations, kindred s, tongues,and peoples“ do the powers that be have to annihilate and massacre through our ”peace” deals and wars? We are being used. Dr. Paul says quit policing the world with mafia tactics.

      Wars have been one of the greatest sources of power and control, manipulated and started, kind of like Napoleon Bonaparte, wanting control of everyone and going to war to get what you want.

      The “why kill him” doesn’t add up. Would it have stopped the nuclear program in Iran? Would it unify the people of Iran against us and draw more support in for their leaders. Why kill him? I agree with you, but it may have been his work was done and he was not in agreement with what the next step was going to be. So he must stay quiet…

      So NWO hit on Iran causes the people to rise up in anger. The people chant “death to America”, Americans come back with “death to Iran”. Looks like the One World Government is doing a great job of dismantling the world, just as the plan goes.

If you are the ones chanting “death” to anyone, you are blinded by reality, and have not been listening to Beck.       Those who claim to read scripture seem to be missing the piece of the puzzle that speaks of the promises of peace on the earth but manipulated by the adversary.
